  I was able to solve the problem with the microphone on the G60-549DX when using Skype.  I spend up to 6-8 hours, talk with convenience stores of HP.  They were very friendly and helpful.  The same help a friend.  My friend downloaded updated bios and micro drivers.  HP technician asked me to turn off the laptop, then remove the battery, unplug the power cord. With battery removed and stop, I pressed the market / off power button for a good minute evacuate remaining power into the computer. When I restarted the laptop I micro worked. I did a little more fine-tuning of the installation of the microphone.  Now, it works well on Skype and sound recorder. I won't take this back within the 14 days return policy.  It's a good computer I can say.  The technicians were all very friendly and helpful.  They called me several times to check to see if it still works OK! They are HUGE!  They want to help with any other question, I have perhaps with the computer.  Thank you very much for the help. Everyone was SO helpful.

  I had this problem too. This isn't a matter of Skype but there is a problem with the Audio driver on your system.

  I used the following steps to detect the problem:

  (a) I uninstalled the existing version of Skype

  (b) installed the new version of Skype

  (c) check if the problem still persists. Given that the problem still persisted.

  (d) consulted the sound link in the Panel control, updated sound card driver software.

  Problem solved.

  If your microphone is sounding restless that you save (rather), there is problem on your Windows sound settings. As Steve G suggested it sounds like a form of blocking to reduce the noise. I don't know if this is an effect that Windows 8.1 can do to the incoming audio signal. If you find a way to turn it off.

• Problem with the microphone back after update 6.0.1

  I had problem with mic - people could not hear me, because my voice was very quiet. Then I turned off the mic noise suppression and everything was fine. Until the update to 6.0.1. Now, I have the same problem. And I can't turn off the mic noise suppression, because this option is simply missed.

  Try resetting your device. This will not erase your data stored on that device.

  • Press and hold the sleep/wake button
  • Press and hold the Home button
  • Press and hold both buttons until the display turns off and on again with the Apple logo on the subject.

  Alternatively, you can go to settings - general - reset - Reset all settings

  If that doesn't work, restore your device to factory settings. Please note that this will delete the data on your device.

  You have 3 microphones in your phone, all assigned to different applications. It is likely that your main microphone (at the bottom of the phone) is defective or has dirt stuck in port.

  Paul Merci much.  You know what I did?  Well, I went to Dev man and looked at the properties of its clicked on update driver card and found a driver Realtec and that fixes the problem.  Works fine now.  Yet once again I can't thank you enough your time a review on this issue.  Don't know if I'll have more questions, but I'll definitely stay here if I do.   ::) Paul

  I bought an unlocked Milestone XT720 to newegg.com with T-Mobile in the USA and have suddenly problems be heard by callers. I've seen a few threads on it saying that it was related to the noise cancelling feature, but I wanted to go on record as having the problem to see if it's a software patch or replacement of equipment problem. Does anyone else have this problem?

  I don't know exactly what is happening, but I suggested that users try to swap their SIM card in the past, if they had an audio problem, and some have reported that this solves their problem. It's worth a try before you send the phone back, right? Even if you go to a T-Mobile store and borrow the SIM card of someone else for a while to see.

  So when I'm too good to make and receive calls the person on the other end cannot hear me. I can hear them fine but they can't hear anything on my side. The first time it is is past that it could almost be bypassed by pressing the handsfree option then that shut off again. Now, every time I try to make a call or receive they don't heard me not at all. It's on a Z3 Sony android version 5.1.1 any execution help would be fantastic as it is a phone otherwise fantastic!

  Please, start your machine in SafeMode as explained here. If the problem is not present in Mode safe, which indicates the origin of the problem is a third-party application. In this case exit safe mode, and then uninstall the third-party applications you don't need and erase data from the cache for applications that you want to keep. Sometimes this is caused by google now 'Google OK detection of any screen' then you can try to turn off. I m at disposal for any question.
