Small question about hue / saturation / transparency etc.

I'm essentially a simple photography for a friend and a website try some effects of mouse for thumbnails.

Initially, I tried reducing transparency and now the brightness, but neither seem, quite right.

Looking around online for what works well, I came across the site Web of Peter Lik.

If you look here:

http://www.peterlik.com

Click on Collections to create a gallery of thumbnails, can anyone with an eye for these things advise me as to which changes hue / saturation / contrast look etc. as they would create the thumbnail image tarnished compared more clear when you hover over.

Thank you very much.

Looks like about 45% opacity to the black wire.

The middle of the image is a screenshot of the faded, external images are screenshots of mouseover States. It is a document of fireworks .png, so you can see how it works.

    Hey Buddy,

1 + 2. I think everything is related to a higher internal temperature and you must clean your laptop using a jet of compressed air. That is why it s not necessary to remove, just blow softly and soon the air through the laptop. You can buy such compressed air which squirts of each computer store I think and it takes only 5 minutes.
You can find a useful article about this here:

    3. in my opinion he should forget this update! The speed of the RAM is related to the FSB of the CPU and as much as I know about Satellite U405D it s 667 MHz so it s already the RAM faster than you can have. Save your money and buy a larger HARD drive or in the best case a SSD that can really improve the performance!

    4. in my view, the answer is clear: Windows 7 64-bit.
Only a 64-bit OS supports full 4 GB of RAM. ;)

  • Small questions about Dataguard

    Hello

I have a few questions about Dataguard. I'm new to DG, carry me so for the display of these fundamental questions:

We plan to install Oracle 12 c to Win 2012 R2 with primary and physical intelligence on different physical servers. We are looking for HA solution, but cannot afford to license CARS. The two primary & Eve are going to be in the same data center connected via a 1 gigabit network. So I have a few questions related to it.

    (a) since both of our primary & Eve is going to be in the same data center with good connectivity. Can I assume that although Data guard is more DR solution, in our case it would be HA solution since we have no network latency.

    (b) is it safe to assume that where primary fails, then the day before can automatically take the role of primary education without any manual intervention, possibly using Dataguard broker?

    (c) so I understand that where primary breaks down, the existing connections transfer automatically from primary to standby db (most recent primary), but how my web based java application will know that more recent connections must be sent to the standby db Server (more recent primary)? I guess net Oracle has a provision to handle this? Who can be automated?

    (d) given that I have only 2 physical servers, can I deploy broker Dataguard on a normal PC (since it is a thin client) assuming the PC is kept in the data center and is online 24/7?

    (e) I was reading about the modes of Protection, account required to our current situation & infrastructure, I choose 'Maximum availability Mode' instead of 'maximum Performance '.

    (f) what is your point of view about Oracle integrated security? I hear too much on Oracle failsafe, because people generally go to a combination of CARS & dataguard for HA? We have a few additional storage that can be shared between the two servers, but I feel with literally no DG network latency can provide us HA.

    Concerning

    Learner

    (a) since both of our main & secondary is going to be in the same data center with good connectivity. Can I assume that although Data guard is more DR solution, in our case it would be HA solution since we have no network latency.

Well it will not provide the level of HA that is RAC. RAC is a Transparent Application failover. With a physical standby, you need to apply some delay for a failover operation. You can implement the observer that can automate the failover and reduce the time.

    (b) is it safe to assume that where primary fails, then the day before can automatically take the role of primary education without any manual intervention, possibly using Dataguard broker?

This isn't really the DG broker, but rather the observer you will need to implement. The DG broker automate failover. It will be the observer who "sees" (where its name) that the principal is down and initiate the failover process. To do this, the observer will use the DG broker, so it will be necessary.

You'll want to read on the QuickStart failover. http://www.Oracle.com/technetwork/articles/smiley-fsfo-084973.html

    (d) given that I have only 2 physical servers, can I deploy broker Dataguard on a normal PC (since it is a thin client) assuming the PC is kept in the data center and is online 24/7?

The DG broker is required to run on the database server. The DG broker will run on the primary and standby. I think that what you're asking really anything is if the observer can run on a PC. Yes it can. However, it is probably not a good idea. A PC will not have the internal hardware redundancy, a server can have. If the PC can fail more often than to a server. And if the gods are bad, it will fail when you most need.

    (e) I was reading about the modes of Protection, account required to our current scenario & infrastructure, I choose 'Maximum availability Mode' instead of 'maximum Performance '.

Your choice should depend on the amount of data loss is acceptable.

    (f) what is your point of view about Oracle integrated security? I hear too much on Oracle failsafe, because people generally go to a combination of CARS & dataguard for HA? We have a few additional storage that can be shared between the two servers, but I feel with literally no DG network latency can provide us HA.

Oracle integrated security only works on Windows with a MS Failover Cluster. Real DBAs do not have Oracle on MSFC.

    See you soon,.

  • Questions about the alignment (mbralign etc.)

    Hello

    My environment:

    NetApp - SAN,

-Vsphere4 (using NFS for data warehouses)

-Netapp tools for Vmware (Virtual Storage Console etc..)

Important (maybe): I created data warehouses on the San with Netapp VSC inside Virtual Center tool... "("Data store Provisioning").

Now, I've read a lot of Articles and documents on a misalignment (Guide of best practices, Netapp, Vmware alignment papers etc..). Some things seem to contradict other things... or I do not understand their right. I know that the tools 'mbralign' and 'mbrscan' of Netapp.

    My Questions:

    1) I read http://blog.aarondelp.com/2009/10/netapp-mbrscan-and-mbralign-for-virtual.html you see that you can not use the mbralign if you

    ...

-want to align dynamic disks under Windows (not supported by mbalign)

-use LVM in Linux guests (mbrscan does not detect LVM partitions)

    This information is still accurate?

    (2) if I use 'mbralign' and 'mbrscan' tools should I still do the alignment process inside of the virtual machine (no matter what operating system)?

    (3) if I have to do this within the guest, after that I used mbralign: already has a performance gain when I would use the tools only mbralign on esx

    (4) with regard to alignment inside the VM: is it true that there is no way to do the alignment (without destroying the Installation of the OS) when the OS inside the VM already installed? That means I can't align vm guests that have already given in (i.e. If I have them imported from Vmware Worksation or P2V)?

    (5) do I need to run "mbralign" and "mbrscan" on the level of ESX host after all? I read somewhere that when you create the VI Client data warehouses (and I did as I wrote above under the "important" note), the alignment already runs from...

Any help is appreciated, thank you very much

Yes. Please be careful with Linux guests. Create a backup copy of the hard you are going to line up before you do.

    (2) if I use 'mbralign' and 'mbrscan' tools should I still do the alignment process inside of the virtual machine (no matter what operating system)?

No, if mbrscan says the disc is not aligned, align on mbralign and you're done.

In general, it is only necessary for data volumes. But I did it for the system drives, as well.

    (4) with regard to alignment inside the VM: is it true that there is no way to do the alignment (without destroying the OS Installation)

When the operating system inside the VM already installed? That means I can't align vm guests that have already given in (i.e. If I

As far as I know, Yes. But you can use "mbralign" for Windows.

the VI Client data warehouses (and I did as I wrote above under the "important" note), the alignment already takes

    places to start...

mbrscan and mbralign is used for the partitions of the host systems. What gets automatically aligned is the NetAPP VMFS partition. If a partition of comments is automatically aligned depends on the guest OS used. AFAIK W2K3 is aligned automatically if create you it from scratch in a virtual guest. But I'm not sure. But it is easy to try. Create a W2K3 guest and examine its virtual disks with mbrscan.

  • A small question about iCloud photo storage

    Hello

I was wondering if once the internal memory of the iPhone is full iCloud will continue store photos? Or the phone must have storage for iCloud to store? I just want to know before you buy an extra 50gig.

    Thank you

iCloud is NOT a hard drive in the sky.

iCloud photo library is designed to synchronize photos between your device and your iCloud-storage space. If you choose the OPTIMIZATION setting, the device will have files small size phone while files are in iCloud. This can drastically reduce the needs of storage on your phone.

The number of photos and videos on your device is always synchronized between your phone and iCloud. Remove deletions from one place to another.

iCloud "will not continue storing the photos...» "for you.

I need to replace the DVD drive in this dv6, and I wonder if there is room for manoeuvre with regard to the replacement drive.  Can I use another drive to disc HP with a similar model # or am I limited on drive 'identical '?

It seems that the reference is the same. As long as the part number is the same, it is essentially the same part and should work without any problems. The only time where this part can fail if the part number is different. If a part is different from another part (software, hardware, etc.), it will have a different reference number. Also long that 461646-6 c 2 is identical on both, there is no problem with the disk replacement.

  • Small question about shuffle

I'm considering the purchase of a Clip +, but have not actually tested one, so I need to ask a question that the people who have already one can answer easily for me.  When you have turned on shuffle, what behavior is the player uses?  He selects a song at random, each new track?  Does make a playlist of your songs in a random order?  If so, is it always the same random order?

Years, I had a Rio Forge that would be random to your playlist, and once he played once in the list, it would make a new random list for you.  It's basically the behavior I'm looking for.  I prefer to be able to return to the song that played there are 2 songs, but also know what song is coming up next.

I realize that it is a somewhat trivial question, but it is important for me to find a player who behaves the way I want it.

    Thanks in advance!

Also; It seems that the player might make a playlist when shuffle is turned on, you can go back and get the songs that played before.  Example 1-9-4, then looking back at 9-1.

Finally, after playing through the music, the player seems to start over with a new mixed single list.

  • Small question about the license of Windows 7.

I've had this operating system Windows 7 Professional for about 3-4 years now. This winter, I'll build my own computer. The drive that is installed on my Windows is near death, I know because from time to time, makes the noise "tweet."  I really love Windows 7, and I would use again for my build. If I had to download an installer to Windows 7 Media to a USB port, could I use my product key to activate it? Or would it be a violation of the license agreement?

It depends on the license you have.  If your Windows 7 came pre-installed (called OEM), it is related to hardware and can not be moved.  If you bought the retail, then you can move

  • A small question about the music

I dragged my audio file to the timeline and it plays perfectly, but it ends (obviously). How can I make the music in an infinite loop or play at least 100 times?

So you say that your entire Flash movie (which is a game) is 15 minutes long on the timeline, but your audio covers only the first 2 minutes of the timeline?

    You have two options.

    (1) you can duplicate the image and change the audio manually with the mouse several times until it covers the entire 15 minutes of the movie/game or

    (2) with actionscript, you can completely replace what is on the timeline and load your audio files with the code and have it play with the code and the conditional statements and timer functions.

A good place to learn more about such an AS3.0 code would be the Adobe ActionScript 3.0 reference, which can be found by doing a web search using any search engine of your choice.  You may want to search the Sound class and the class SoundChannel.  You will also want to search the Timer class and things like "if statements" which are conditional statements.  The research of these will result in finding you a code that has already been written that you can apply to your situation/scenario.

  • Small Question about Advanced Configuration settings

When you change an advanced value of a VM, why the new object is created

    New-Object VMware.Vim.VirtualMachineConfigSpec

When we look at the object of $vm.extensiondata.config this object looks like for me VMware.Vim.VirtualMachineConfigInfo no "context".

So my question... to rephrase and perhaps provide some clarification... Why is context and not ConfigInfo?

Objects of the type of information are present when you retrieve a vSphere object, objects of type Spec are used when you configure a vSphere object.

It's the Get-ter and Set-ter from the point of view PowerCLI cmdlets.

  • Small Question about the Framework Services folder

OK so I set it up and learn how to use CRMI to speak at the University Complutense of MADRID, I don't really need help in this regard.  My question is I am to read the documentation of records Services and read "FLD_CREATE_FOLDER" and has been in deficit.  A how can I find the GUID for the parent folder, and secondly I don't see a way to add the name of the new folder.  I'm a bit lost with this one hoping somone can point me in the right direction.

    Hello

To obtain the GUID for the parent folder, you can use either the service FLD_INFO with IsJava = 1 parameter or executing the query on table FolderMetaDefaults.

    1. service a part:

From the browser, use the following function call:

    http://ucmhostname:port/cs/idcplg? IdcService = FLD_INFO & path = / Folder1

Here the path refers to the hierarchical structure for the real one whereby we create a new.

For example: If Folder1 is created under the root, and unless we create a new subfolder then path = / Folder1

    If under Folder1, we subFolder1 then path = / Folder1/subFolder1.

Than under ResultSet "FolderInfo" look for fFolderGUID and use it as the value for fParentGUID

    Sample code: https://forums.oracle.com/thread/2554885

The code would be like this:

    dataBinder.putLocal ("IdcService", "FLD_CREATE_FOLDER");

    dataBinder.putLocal ("fParentGUID", "FLD_ROOT");

    dataBinder.putLocal ("fFolderName", "RIDCFF1");

Example above creates a new folder under the root itself.

    I hope this helps.
