Smart View Excel Add - In Error Message

A client was trying to perform Smart View and it crashed. The display then shows the message/question Excel:

«Excel has experienced a serious problem with the snap "oracle hyperion smart view for office, edition of fusion".» If you have seen this message more than once, you must disable this add-in, and check to see if an update is available. Do you want to disable this add-in? "(Yes/no)

The customer has NOT disabled, but rather disconnected Smart View and then reconnected. When they did that, they were hunted Smart View after a few minutes and was then again reconnect.

Is there a solution for this problem? They really need disable the add-in, and then add the Smart View? Please indicate the exact steps to solve this problem.

Whenever I encounter this problem, I simply close excel, put an end to all the processes related to excel and excel reopens.

However, said that the problem is known and we have a new bug to the same EXCEL CRASHES when YOU OPEN OR SAVE a FILE [Bug ID 12957863] (September 8, 2011).

    You can check that your page is locked in a dsp:page tag. If this isn't the case, add the tag and see if that helps.

    We've worked with oracle on it and here's the steps provided by them

    If you do not use the functionality of the Visual Explorer from within Essbase Excel Add-in, you can eliminate the error by renaming both files.

    1. go to the directory \Hyperion\products\Essbase\EssbaseClient\bin

    2. rename the file so the extension is not an executable, i.e. from have.exe to have.exe.ORIG

    3 Rename the DLL file is not a library file of valid data, i.e. from have.dll to have.dll.ORIG link

  • Smart Web printing network resource error message

    I have a Photosmart C4580 with an OS Windows 7 Home Premium 32 bit

    The problem is NOT the printer, but whenever I boot, I get a pop up saying message box:

    "SmartWeb installation package is not found."

    Followed by:

    ""The component you are trying to use is on a network not available resource ". "

     

    That's happened since I've tried (successfully) solve a problem of a download of HP Solution Center


    My browser is Google Chrome and I have not used IE for a few years (IE9 is installed) I've never used Smart Web and have no need for it, so I tried to uninstall it without success.

    The search through the forums, an expert suggested Revo uninstall.  My question is how can I get rid of those annoying pop ups and if I use Revo to uninstall Smart Web will be my other printer be affected software? Example of Solution Center designs and photo etc.

     

    Do you still need help? I read your post to DavidPK and using Revo uninstall on another Board. Looks like he's got your problem taken care of. Is this the case? I wanted to just contact you and verify.

    Hi guys when you run a report using Smart View, I get an error increase the value NetRetry County and/or Net delay in the file essbase.cfg. But I am able to run the same report using Excel add-in.

    What could be the reasons?

    When you connect to Essbase in Smart View, your actual connection is what is called the service provider. It is another service that could be run on a completely different Essbase server itself. If there is a lot of congestion on the network or if you have a slow network, the additional proxy can be put you on the response timeout.

    I'm able to show errors in fields, but I want to show them next to the fields.

    How can I get this feature?

    I can think of a simple solution is to define a map container in the FormHandler add the error message and on jsp display the associated value, for example like this

    psudeo code

    Map errorMap = new HashMap();

    {if(FirstName==null)}

    addFormException (new DropletException ("Please enter first name"));

    errorMap.put ("firstname", "Please enter the first name");

    }

    in jsp

    Make sure that no error just to give you an idea wrote the untested code.

  • Using Variables of Substitution Essbase in Smart view?

    I have several Smart View excel spreadsheet running in a 3-year budget cycle.

    It would be great that instead of FY10, FY11, etc.. I could use the substitution variables essbase for the fiscal years (actual spending instead of FY10, running instead of FY11) so when the rotation exercises I did not change the forms.

  • Read access to the members of scenario in Smart View

    In the current context of Hyperion Planning, we want to revoke write access to some scenarios (for example real) after loading data in the month is complete. Say I want to allow the user to enter data only for the current month i.e. Ms FY13.

    I would update the Member properties of scenario as follows: start month = Sep, end month = MS, start year = FY13 end year = FY13. When I access scenarios through forms, this allows me to enter data only in the MS FY13 and other months seem to be read-only. It's quite OK.

    However, if I can access the same scenario via Smart View or add Essbase in, I can modify or write data throughout all the months of the scenario. The scenario properties do not come to play. How this situation can be treated.

    I want to update the (real) script to be read only for all months except one after loading the actual data at the beginning of the month.

    Start the month setting end months of planning is there only when access you it through a programming interface. (Which you already did).

    You can get this out-of-box like you can not affect safety on the period, what you can try is (I did not try, so it may or may operate Word) try to modify the filter for a user (in environmental assessments) and add year period combination.

    If it works, then you need to add a mechanism where after each planning security update this update goes into Essbase.

  • Smart View Add - In in Excel 2013 disappers

    Hello

    Smart View add-in disappears whenever I run a special on a range of new or existing and close the Excel file. When I re - open this file Excel same or new, Smart View missing once again, so I go to Option > Add-Ins > and this is under the Application Inactive Add-Ins. To activate it, I'm going to manage the COM add-ins and check the Oracle Smart View for office option. It works, but I have to do it EVERY time that I re - open the excel file.

    Any suggestions or ideas?

    quick, followed to my previous note, with a slight variation on the solution of JM, I've been able to resolve these two issues of users on a system of users that the key was not in HKEY_Local_Machine but in HKEY_CURRENT_USER.

    so, to quote with slight modification...

    Open regedit and locate the entry

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\Excel\Addins\Hyperion.CommonAddin\

    and make sure that the LoadBehavior key is set to 3.

    My guess is that the difference was caused by the way in which it has been installed and the local user rights.

    I can't find any way to stop what is happening.  The context is to convert legacy Add - in reports.  Users want to change the layout at all, so avoidable.

    It's actually very interesting. Older versions of the Add-in would not put anything in cell A1. Around 6.2 version that has changed and he greeted.  I'm afraid that you won't be able to change this behavior.  In the case of the add-in, he treated it as header a little information as the POV in Smart View. According to Smart, this is considered column information.  If the scenario and the product were overall instead of to the bottom it would act as the POV of smart.

    I have Microsoft Office 2007 and install smart view Hyperion Workspace 11.1.2.3 bit, but got an unidentified sells opened Excel.

    Kindly help.

    Please follow the steps below

    1. from Control Panel for any installed smatview, if so please uninstall the same

    2. take the backup of the Windows registry.

    3 remove the entries of HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\14.0\Excel\options

    We receive Request Timed out error when trying to send data to the planning application by using Smart view.

    "Unable to connect to the provider because: the request has timed out." Contact your administrator to increase netRetryCount and netRetryInterval. "Is someone can you please tell me where I can increase the time-out settings? Can someone give me the link to the document that detailed the steps to do this.

    Go to the knowledge base and search for document ID 744559.1

    Cause
    By design, Internet Explorer imposes a time-out for the server limit return data. Internet Explorer does not indefinitely wait for the server to come back with data when the server has a problem.

    Smart View communicates via HTTP to which Internet Explorer DLLs are used. Smart Display users who run large queries or have a slow network connection might encounter the error, "the request has timed out. Contact the administrator to increase NetRetryCount and NetRetryInterval. »

    This error message may be misleading because this error also occurs if Internet timeout settings Explorer does not respond to large farms. By default, Internet Explorer has a value of KeepAliveTimeout to a minute and another factor limiting (ServerInfoTimeout) of two minutes.
