  Hello

  Smart View add-in disappears whenever I run a special on a range of new or existing and close the Excel file. When I re - open this file Excel same or new, Smart View missing once again, so I go to Option > Add-Ins > and this is under the Application Inactive Add-Ins. To activate it, I'm going to manage the COM add-ins and check the Oracle Smart View for office option. It works, but I have to do it EVERY time that I re - open the excel file.

  quick, followed to my previous note, with a slight variation on the solution of JM, I've been able to resolve these two issues of users on a system of users that the key was not in HKEY_Local_Machine but in HKEY_CURRENT_USER.

  so, to quote with slight modification...

  Open regedit and locate the entry

  HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\Excel\Addins\Hyperion.CommonAddin\

  and make sure that the LoadBehavior key is set to 3.

  My guess is that the difference was caused by the way in which it has been installed and the local user rights.

• Several oddities about 11.1.2 - Smart View does not connect to earlier versions

  In the test I tried to apply the Smart View on Excel 2007 11.1.2 and connect to our planning 9.3.1. I'm trying to any service provider (Essbase, Hyperion Planning, Reporting Forms) I get a message saying 'you are trying to connect to an older server.

• Smart View "Free-Form" vs Excel Add-In

  I can't find any way to stop what is happening.  The context is to convert legacy Add - in reports.  Users want to change the layout at all, so avoidable.

  It's actually very interesting. Older versions of the Add-in would not put anything in cell A1.   Whenever I encounter this problem, I simply close excel, put an end to all the processes related to excel and excel reopens.

  However, said that the problem is known and we have a new bug to the same EXCEL CRASHES when YOU OPEN OR SAVE a FILE [Bug ID 12957863] (September 8, 2011).

• Smart View drilldown inserts additional rows in Excel

  Question: Additional blank lines inserted on the second descent of the dimension of the lines.
  The Smart View version: 11.1.2.2.000 (Build 434)
  Excel Version: 2007 running on Windows XP SP3
  
  Aftering digging a dimension on a line of an ad-hoc query and drilling then upwards, it does not appear that Smartview 'cleans' extra blank rows on a grid on which he hasn't needed. As a result, drilling down on one another Member of the line inserts a large number of blank lines between members of drill down, a line for each of the lines of the grid not erased.
  
  A solution for this is to remove all empty lines in the grid before you drill down on the second dimension. But it's bad enough from a user perspective. Mutiple users encounter the problem. If someone has encountered the same situation and, if so, did you find a fix?

  This is a know bug. The work around is to disable "Preserve formulas and comments on Ad-Hoc operations (except Pivot)" in the options of the Member before you start to do your zoom in or out. (new listing) I suggest making it default and then having the zoom add formulas as needed.

  You do not need to copy anything from the server, you can download the files.
  You should be able to download smartview to workspace or you can download it from the delivery.

  What if you go in the section add-ins in excel, Smart View is in the list?
  If it is you can uncheck it, apply, then go back and try and add it again, go to the view smart installation directory e.g. c:\hyperion\SmartView\bin\HsTBar.xla

  I have Microsoft Office 2007 and install smart view Hyperion Workspace 11.1.2.3 bit, but got an unidentified sells opened Excel.

  Please follow the steps below

  1. from Control Panel for any installed smatview, if so please uninstall the same

  2. take the backup of the Windows registry.

  3 remove the entries of HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\14.0\Excel\options

  4. download the latest version of smartview from the link below.

  Looks like you meet which is a known bug. You should switch to Smart View 9.3.1.5 or higher. See the 1072551.1knowledge base article, for example.

• Business rule does not Excel-Smart View

  I use a Smart view business rule and its me gives error like "a query at the time. Contact your administrator to increase netDelay and netRetryCount.
  
  I checked on the server, and this setting are already there and pretty high.
  
  I put the netDelay and setting on the machine clent also netRetryCount but no luck.
  
  Also when it is tested for different machine even well-executed BR.

  You can try the below mentioned.

  The following registry key needs to be updated on the client computer:

  1. open the registry (start-> Run-> Regedit)

  2. Locate the following section: [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings].

  3. create the following new keys to dword with decimal values:

  "ReceiveTimeout" = dword:00dbba00

  "KeepAliveTimeout" = dword:00180000

  "ServerInfoTimeout" = dword:00180000

  4 restart the machine for the new settings to take effect.

  We are in Hyperion 11 1 2 2 version and we use the planning, Essbase and Smart View

  One of my users want to use Excel add in.

  I'm trying to find a download for Add In Excel and could not find.

  can someone guide me to download or if it is not supported.

  11.1.2.2 is supported but not beyond.  I wouldn't start a new user with it, unless they are already familiar.

  If you look on edelivery.oracle.com there is a file in the EMP 11.1.2.2 media pack called "EPM System Release 11.1.2.2.0 Client installers for Microsoft Windows.

  See also download and extraction of customers installers.

  If you need absolutely only the add-in that you might be able to save bandwidth and take support, where the 11.1.2.2.106 patch there separately.

• Unable to access the Smart View 11.1.2.5.216 in Outlook 2007

  All,

  I uninstalled Smart View 11.1.1.3.x of my MS Windows 7 (x 32) Professional SP1 machine and installed Smart View 11.1.2.5.216 during the same session (that is to say, without having to reboot).

  While SmartView arrives perfectly fine when I access Excel, Word and PowerPoint and I can connect to the 11.1.2.3.00 EMP data sources, I don't see the Ribbon of Smart View under MS Outlook. This is in spite of:

  -After changing my MS Office 2007 installation to run Visual Basic Scripting Support on my PC for MS Outlook 2007 only (i.e., via Control Panel > programs and features > MS Office Standard 2007 > change > add or remove components);

  -remove the key HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Hyperion Solutions and that underlie the subkeys, after uninstalling 11.1.1.3 and before installing 11.1.2.5.216

  There is no disabled COM add-ins displayed in MS Outlook 2007 and there is no other entries related to Hyperion (IE, HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\Outlook\Addins\Hyperion.CommonAddin) to amend\delete under HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\Outlook\AddIns. Also, I searched but could not find the Smart View PST file on my machine.

  Has anyone any suggestions as to where else I could be looking or what else I could do to activate the smart display in MS Outlook 2007?
