Occasionally an error will appear when I open Excel that says "Smart View managed an unknown exception thrown by Microsoft Office. If anyone has had this problem or knows what it is tied to. as much as I know that it still works very well. Here's what I copied over the OAS error log data.

• Smart View Shared connections - Oracle Essbase - how comes?

  Test the new version of Smart view 11.1.2.2.310 on Office Excel 2010.  In Shared connections I show three Essbase servers

  I have both OpenOffice.org and Microsoft Office 2007 is installed on my Windows 7 computer and I would like to use Microsoft Office as the default for all files, it can open, but he does not appear in the list of default programs.

  If you click on all programs above the Orb in the list you will find Microsoft Office 2007, click the folder and it opens to reveal Word, excel etc. You can right-click on the word etc. and choose PIN to the start menu or the taskbar somewhere else. I have pin and then in the start menu for convenience.

  quick, followed to my previous note, with a slight variation on the solution of JM, I've been able to resolve these two issues of users on a system of users that the key was not in HKEY_Local_Machine but in HKEY_CURRENT_USER.

  so, to quote with slight modification...

  Open regedit and locate the entry

  HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\Excel\Addins\Hyperion.CommonAddin\

  and make sure that the LoadBehavior key is set to 3.

  My guess is that the difference was caused by the way in which it has been installed and the local user rights.

  You probably have another Office application running - remember, Office is not just Excel and Smart View works with those of other applications also - and / or open invisibly.  If you open the Task Manager and look at the process, you can see an instance of EXCEL. • How to open a. File TIFF using Microsoft Office Picture Manager?

  For some reason, the program by default-Set associations will not replace Quick time.  I can't open a tiff file.  I have Itunes & Quick Time player installed.  I want to open the files using Microsoft Office Picture Viewer tiff and I set my default to open tiff and tif files in Microsoft Office Picture Manager.  However, when I click on a tiff file to open it, the system tries to open using Quick Time Viewer and then I get a white screen with "done" at the bottom.  When I uninstall QuickTime, tiff files will open as expected in Microsoft Office Picture Manager.  How ideas keep Quick Time installed and still be able to open tiff files?

  I found a solution.

  Go to regedit.

  Search: HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT Type\image/tiff

  The named CLSID value just right-click and choose Remove.   ("CLSID" = "{4063BE15-3B08-470D-A0D5-B37161CFFD69}")

  Click Yes to confirm.

  {4063BE15-3B08-470D-A0D5-B37161CFFD69} is the QuickTime ActiveX module.

  Problem solved.

  Did someone got an error 1935 when installing smart views? My helpdesk told me I need a registry exception, but I have to tell them what it is and where to put.
