  They give you the wrong info. BIS is a RIM service, there is no doubt about that. But customers must contact the carrier for all kinds of support. If the carrier is unable to resolve the problem, then they it will intensify to the RIM using established channels.

  .77 is old enough for the 8330, I would recommend that you upgrade to the latest version of your provider.

  To kill the GAL, you need to check your free file (Options > status) and make sure that you leave no applications running in the background that you don't need.

  There is a leak of OS 5.0 for the 8330 circulating on the web for a few weeks, but it is a non-supported version and installation may cause unexpected behavior in your phone. However, it does not indicate that RIM is considering when we release the OS 5.0 for the phone later.   In a regular PDF document, the text looks more like a picture of the text.  We can see it, but the file does not contain the words.

  In an indexed PDF, text is stored as text, so it can be searched.

  When you scan receipts, 200 or 300 dpi should be fine.  If you plan to print the stored version receive 300 dpi would work well.

  I recommend PDF more TIFF.  TIFF files can store pages or multiple images in a single file, but access to additional pages is a bit awkward.  Generally, the file size is much smaller with PDF or TIFF.

  The site http://www.scantips.com/ is a good resource.  This is a Web site not HP, but it does not scan HP.
