  installed 8830 2 giga Scandisk memory card.  V4.3.0.17 DTM does not list media Mgr.  Support of BB site says to get rid of all the Roxio files on computer - some are embeddable in ESSILOR.  So have not affected them.  According to the list of programs, I don't have any Roxio on PC program.  Other questions on the Support site says that I should download the correct version of the DTM in the 4.2 series - it would be a big step backwards.  What is a girl to do?  BB does not seem to recognize the card media-says nothing is there to get the multimedia card.  Not irritable person, so please talk down to me.  TIA

  I posted this problem while back. But here it is again. I downloaded videos to my Storm with no problems, (figured out how to do it properly). Here are some videos of go media, I have to activate "Quickpull" to make videos to come back, sometimes twice. I recently "formatted" media card computer vista and my Storm (with audio and video problems endangered, not appearing is not in the multimedia card) thought 'cure' problem.   @KingCobra: in my opinion, it is a corruption of index.
  the media application uses Indexing (stored on tiny files in each folder that contains a media file) to improve the user experience. Sometimes they get damaged. A violent solution is to remove the indexing file and re-create the media application to have.

  --> use the USB and from Windows Explorer, navigate to your press card folders. and show the hidden files & system.
  Delete all files named BBThumbs.dat (there is at least one in each case).

  -->, unplug your device, and then open the media application. Indexing should then start (may take a few hours for people who have thousands of mp3). If your OS is 4.5 or a later version, you have a progressbar (white/blue) at the bottom of the screen.

• BlackBerry smartphones "BOLD": slow response after addition of media card / copy of audio files

  I bought the "BOLD" a few weeks ago and enjoy it a little. Last week, I added a 16 GB memory card was added so that she could serve double duty as my mp3 player and the device continued to play normally. Today, I copied around 8 GB of music to the card and then noticed that the performance was substantially degraded. There is literally a 2-3 second delay when moving the trackball until UI catches up and moves the menu that also applies to any other button / features.

  After working with computers for years, I restarted the phone to see if it would help, but the problem remains. I went to options and then removed the card media (leaving physically in the phone). Immediately, performance returned to normal without any delay. Added it back, and latency immediately surfaced.

  Then, I went to the media app to play the music. There are abandoned during playback, and I also noticed that at the bottom there is a blue line with the word "Scanning". I suspect that she is currently trying to index the 8 GB of audio files. If this is the case, and it is a hit time while this is the case, I'm fine with it. However, if it is not a one time thing then to have a large amount of data on a media card seems to make the phone unusable, because I can't live with 2 second delays in the UI or dropouts in audio playback because something else is hogging the CPU.

  Has anyone else met this with large amounts of audio / photos / data on press card? If so, the problem disappear after indexing, or is this a bug with the phone? Any input would be most appreciated.

  I inadvertently saved photos and videos to the device memory.  When I discovered this I moved the files on the media card, but the space in the memory of the device was not released, although the image and folders in video memory show no file.  All solutions?   I am running OS 5.

  "Memory" is basically a multimedia card shipped.  It is memory separate from your "Application memory".

  I just want to perform a full backup of the device with Desktop Manager.  Wipe the device in the Options > Security Options > Security wipe.  Then restore the backup.  That will probably bring your memory asks how far it was.

  REMOVE the card from the device support immediately.

  Get a PC > adapter USB to read the card and use the Zero Assumption Recovery software on the card to extract and copy the deleted files. The more you use this map or keep in the BlackBerry, less you all extracted files.

  K so, all you need to do if you find your card encrypted... and you went in options - security options- encryption and clicked disable and it still does not work...

  Go to options - security options - Security wipeand you will have three options to wipe - you will be asked. emails and contacts (which is automatically checked, uncheck the BOX IT!) the user installed appsand multimedia card... run the first two are NOT checked and DO check the media card and then click on the delete button.

  After that you will need to re - synchronize your blackberry using the desktop software installation program, make sure you open all the options re-sync (calendars, contacts, etc.) and that's all you need to do... music, photos and videos should all be restored!
