  This is my first post.  Yesterday bought a Curve 8530.  My first BlackBerry ever. Lovin' the phone.  Got 2 things I want to understand.

  (1) all my contacts are in Windows Contacts.  How can I synchronize my phone with Vista?

  (2) is it possible to change all the icons to and from the desktop computer?

  I'm sure I'll have 1 million questions soon, but these are 2 for now.

  Oh Yes.  Stayed up to play with the software that comes with the phone (Desktop Manager and Roxio) and just when I started to get the hang of it, got an update today all night and it was gone.  New software makes no sense to me and I don't know how or why I need to use it.  Any suggestions on what I'm supposed to do with this?

• Smartphones blackBerry with calendar questions probably a problem of setting

  Howdy all! I just changed a curve (which I really liked) to a "BOLD" (which I love!) I think I have a handle on most of the small difference, but have a problem with the screen of the MCH that makes me crazy! I can't seem to view the following two pending appointments under the "calendar" icon (of course it does not show the first two messages email either, but I can live with that). I tried a couple of different themes that display these options in their view example (most recently the Blackberry Storm today than themes4bb.com) but still no appointment until I actually open the calendar application. I think that it is in a setting somewhere, but I just feel like a "retarded" because I can not find it. Anyone out there have any ideas? I would really appreciate the help.

  I'm not a person very tech-savy, but now,.

  I recently got my blackberry 9780 and I'm currently NOT on a data plan. I tried using wifi on the phone, but I always get the message "Cannot connect to the server" when I open the browser or when I try to configure my email account. I disabled Moblie Network Data Services so that I don't use any data by accident.

  I use a Mac Airport Extreme Base Station 802.11n.

  When I look under "service status" next to BlackBerry Internet Service: not connected & even with BlackBery Enterprise Server.

  * When I turned on the mobile, browser data works also very well... but account e-mail implemented yet "impossible to connect to the server.

  The BB logo would indicate that your BB is connected to BlackBerry (BIS) Internet Service. But, since you don't have a data plan, you get not BIS. In addition, the native browser can never work without a data plan. I suggest that you refer to this FAQ:

  Hi and thanks for this area.  I just got my new 9360.  It will only allow me to sync my Outlook.  The prospects are great, but when I read, and then delete the messages on this subject, the curve, it will not remove them as it does, today, if I read them in Yahoo?

  Also, is there a way/method/configuration I could enjoy making Outlook the problem explained above...

  Hello

  There is no direct synchronization between your BB and your client Outlook PC. Instead, each is synchronized, for what he is able, against your mail server.

  For your BB, synchronization between him and the server is governed by the present:

  • KB05133 Features of the BlackBerry Internet Service email reconciliation

  For your Outlook synchronization depends on how you have your Outlook integrated to your server. If POP, then deleted item synchronization does not occur when an item is deleted from the server (which is where it will be deleted when you delete your BB). If the IMAP, then it must synchronize deleted on the server on your Outlook items.

  Please tell m if it is an incorrect use of the forum and in particular, your time, but you have been so helpful in the past.  I am trying to drag and drop a video podcast on itunes to my Blackberry storm media card (all of in Windows Explorer) and not having not success.  My Storm is connected via USB.  I run the DM in the background (version 4.7.0.25) in the case where it makes a difference.    I click on the podcast, but when I try to hang out on top of the media card, it will not highlight the media card and so I'd drop it.  You would be so good in respect to explicitly describe how to do this?  I have Windows XP.  Thank you very much.   Leigh Ann

  Hello!

  You have the mass storage mode (under Options > memory)? With that, XP will give you two drive letters for the storm... one for the memory of the device and the other to the SD card. Then, you can use Windows File Explorer (open source and the first destination) for drag and drop things from the storm.

  I have a problem with the replication of a Blackberry Storm (9500) with Lotus Notes 8.0.2. The desktop software that I am running is version 4.7.0.25 on Windows XP Professional with Service Pack 3.

  After setting up the synchronization of calendar and address book, when you synchronize manually, start the pop-up windows, where one would expect to see the progress bar of the just closed synchronization after a splitsecond.

  Even if I put the journal setting within the highest synchronization propertiesto possible value, no log is written at all.

  The Windows event logs do not show only one entry for that matter.

  When trying to auto-sync after connecting the usb with the computer devicethrough blackberry cell phone, the device is recognized, but still there is no synchronization.

  Everyone knows a similar problem before?

  Any hint is appreciated.

  I wanted to let you know that I finally managed to solve this problem.

  I have backed up from your handheld address book and calendar by using the desktop software (functionfortunately the backup worked) and them cleaned on the handheld.

  After a reinstall of the desktop software, synchronization between BlackBerry and Lotus Notes worked usning the combination of Desktop Siftware 4.1 and Lotus Notes 8.0.2.

  If you refer to the Outlook Web Access (OWA), you cannot synchronize contacts, calendar, tasks and memo with OWA or any other Web-based e-mail platform (except yahoo... it will do calendar)

  You can integrate email OWA through your BIS account well

• BB Desktop 4.5 blackBerry smartphones, WinXP, Blackberry 8330 - install question

  Hi, tired to install BB Desktop Manager 4.5 on a computer laptop w Win XP pro - need to user without administrator privleges. Got the software installed by administrator acct, but now cannot configure synchronization for the limited user account. I tried setting up the synchronization via the administrator account, but he wants to use the outlook account contacts/administrator, not the user outlook/contacts/etc. When I try to install through user account, I can't install to synchronize (map to Outlook).

  Any ideas on how to make this function?

  Thanks for the reply - yes I couldn't choose 'Outlook' as an option to "sync" under the synchronization configuration... it just wasn't in the list. It turns out that I had this configuration of the user with limited rights and did spend in them a Power-User wherever everything worked fine... all a WinXp error... Installer work faaaast too

• Problems of Smartphones 9800 blackBerry with e-mail upgrade

  Recently, I've migrated from the Blackberry Curve to the 9800.  Now I feel bad to send emails.  Text messages work fine, however, when I send emails (including myself), I get a a status icon next to the message displaying a box of red square with the letter "L", red in the middle.  The message does not get sent.  I don't know how to resolve this error, or what means this icon.

  Try a battery pull if you please, with the BlackBerry device powered on, remove the battery 15 seconds and then reinsert the battery to reboot the device. This clear all cache as restart and update the host Routing Table.

  Your old card SIM does support 3g? try to change the signal to 2g and see if it persists.

  I just got it and he is in charge. Unlike most of the other there is no details except for the flashing green light. He will tell when it is fully charged?

  I'm about to install the Manager (version 6.7.3 - 2010th for windows 2000/xp/Vista 32/64 bit). I see users loading 4.5/6. How old are these versions?

  Also is there anything on the BB user tools cd that I need?

  The Fund Manager and the blackberry OS Fkess are two very different things. That is why the different version numbers.

  It seems that all my emails arrive in code. Not sure if it's something to do with HTML or not.

  I looked for an option that allows me to choose HTML or not, but found nothing that works. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  Stephen, you close your programs that you open with the bb menu key then scrollin down to close.

  The ESC key closes the programs, and that will keep your programs running.

  I deleted my category of personal contacts in MS outlook. When I sync my outlook 8330 wants to delete my personal entries in my blackberry contacts. I've used legacy replace outlook in the Panel of conflicts, but I get the same message. I'm afraid to accept the chages because I don't want to lose my blackberry contacts. I use 4.5.0.77 software and version 4.7 of office.

  My Storm has been sycronising with my Outlook calendar for centuries, but the storm now seems to have lost many former appointments. I tried a one-way synchronization of outlook to the storm, but appointments do not always show upward. If I do a two-way synchronization, Desktop Manager tries to delete all appointments in Outlook. The storm is still showing all the recurring appointments, it is just a compromise which will not appear.

  Can I use PocketMac on my iMAC and also use the Office BB on my Windows PC where my lotus notes is synchronized to work and all my applications are used?  just trying to move my calendars/contacts, etc. of my BB on my MAC?

  You can of course.

  You have to turn off sync wireless messages > Options > reconcile before. You may need to do this in you book calendar and address at the well.
