  I'm not sure about the correlation between the encryption and the BB Protect... you jumped from one to another at whiplash speed in your post... do not understand.

  But, nevertheless, if encryption is active and locked, then the most likely answer is that your device has a COMPUTER Board policy that requires encryption is active. You can check the existence of a COMPUTER policy via this method:

  If you're on BES through your company or otherwise, you have to stop now and talk to your BES admins, because they are in control of it on your device policy.

  2) uninstall all the BB OS packages from your PC,

  (3) make sure you have the BB Desktop Software already installed

  (4) download and install on your computer, the BB OS package you want:

  • If all you want are the levels of BONE, it is first sorted by carrier - the carrier supports, your search will be fast. However, some carriers are much slower than others to release updates.   Recently, I tried to use my "BOLD" newly bought in hotels in the United Kingdom and Iceland using local WiFi networks.  In each case, I had a sporadic problem.  I was able to connect to the network and receive e-mails (see another problem later).  However, I could not connecting them to the Internet through the browser.  Whenever I got a message saying: "radio on your device is turned off or the battery is too low for radio in use.  Thus the browser cannot retrieve all of the web pages. "I searched the Help menu but could not find any reference to a 'radio' on my device or how to activate or disable.  The battery on my phone was fully charged.  In each case, the problem solved itself overnight without any intervention from me.  Anyone can shed light on this message?  What is this 'radio' and where/how can I control it?

  Today, I can't call a phone number that I use every day.  It doesn't ring when I dial the number, I get this annoyed ding-ding-ding! tone and an error message on my phone saying "Radio path unavailable".  I use AT & T and the network in Houston Texas and I can't call the local number.  However, I can call other numbers of fixed and mobile phone local calls (even from the number I can not connect to).  In past messages, people say there is a problem with Blackberry and their tricks, so I call them to report this and get a response when it will be fixed... any other advice is appreciated, thanks.

  PS. I rebooted my phone with battery and removing the SIM card and it solves nothing.

  I spent hours on the phone trying to solve this problem.  All first with AT & T and the Blackberry (1-877-255-2377 in the case that you can do better).  None were able to tell me what was the cause of the problem or fix.  I discover that other AT & T phones other than Blackberry users WERE able to call and connect to the number I can't... not only that, but one another Blackberry user on the AT & T network could not dial the number either! BlackBerry wanted to transfer me to AT & T and I asked the rep Blackberry to guide me through the update of software which I spent 15 minutes listening in silence and I am frustrated because the Blackberry updates are not automatic like the Verizon Droid, you will need to plug into a PC via USB - lame.  I gave up at this point and decided to switch my phone to something, anything!, other than a Blackberry and get this.   During these telephone conversations I repeatedly the number dialed and received the error message "Path unavailable Radio" - and I was on the phone with AT & T and the Blackberry in the fixed network - after ALL this I tried calling the number once more and guess what... IT WORKED AGAIN! Thanks for nothing - I knew it was the freaking early towers - BLACKBERRY is the worst cell phone in existence. -Well bored

  PS thanks to God I have VERIZON and a DROID... it was for my mother's phone, she couldn't call my grandmother fixed...
