Snap the clipping on the grid mask

Hey Merry Xmax to all the world,

I have a clipping on an image mask so that I can hide a part of the image. Now if I try to break the masked image Illustrator will use the image adjusted limits (i.e. the hidden part of the image) as a reference to align everything. The result is that the image itself always end badly aligned with the grid. In order to solve that I have to manually enter the correct values in the transform Panel, which is a pain. Is this expected behavior? If so, I don't see any point of it. Or maybe I'm missing some preference?

Find attached a screenshot illustrating the problem, note how the hidden part of the image is perfectly aligned with the grid so that the mask (the visible part of the image) is misaligned.

rsantiago,

What happens if you view > Snap to Grid checked (you can check the object selection by path only in the General preferences) and then with the Selection tool:

1) click on the clipping mask.

(2) move the cursor to be close to the desired angle, Point anchor, but just outside the image.

(3) click to deselect it, and then move the slider (align and follow the side of the image which is indicated by a full rectangle then) snap up the angle which is indicated by a rectangle hollow, then ClickDrag to the desired grid intersection/place?

Should allow you to drag all through the corner of the desired image. You can see when you click to ClickDragging star.

With path only, you can follow the side (vertically or in the past), without it you is perhaps inside the image so that you can go to the outside and to the up/down, to hit the corner.

  • Snap to grid on while the grid is hidden - possible?

    Hello

    Is it possible, native or via the plug-in/script, which allows me to have snap to grid, although the grid itself is hidden?

    Thank you in advance for your help!

    Jorge Tom

    I was under the impression that you have found that it is impossible to snap when the options were hidden so that you were asking if there could be a script or plugin solution.  I know that Scripts can get places hidden Guide, but you need to call the script to use. Or have it triggered by a certain event.

    I missed the "native" in your original question.  To me, it looks like hidden additional view off. Thing as selection are always in effect you just don't see the moving dotted line.  If you move a selection so hidden you will be shown the outline while dragging doesn't align itself with almost anything and will hide once you stop hanging out.  I would say just just using the shortcut Ctrl + H the toggle display options. As other shortcuts Ctrl + "to turn the single grid Ctrl +;" Toggle guides

    What does it mean when the Selection tool in illustrator has a small white box or black next to the pointer?  I did a clipping of an object mask and now can't move and selection pointer has small box beside him.  Yet to learn...

    When it is over an unselected path or shape (as in, something that you can select if you click right here), it shows a black box. When you're not selected anchor, it shows a white box.

  • Why is Illustrator 2014 not creating pixel perfect sizes, when snapping to the grid of pixels

    I have the grid of the value of 10px monotube with 10 subdivisions if intervals one pixel per line.  I have snap to grid on, I turned off commented in the case that was causing the problem.

    But when I drag a shape to snap it to the box it will add some additional .0xx after the pixel size.

    This is what makes it really difficult to work when I have to go back and enter the values exactly.  Return to the previous version but is this a bug of output or is there a work around?

    Hello Tony,.

    You create the rectangle shape in a web document? Could you please check if "Snap to grid of pixels" is enabled or not for the comic form? If this isn't the case, then this is perhaps the reason why you get no accurate result.

  • How to change the size of the grid of office

    original title: the grid of office size

    How can I change the dimensions of the horizontal and vertical grid for the desktop icons?

    Hello

    By default, Windows spaces icons evenly on an invisible grid. You cannot change the size of the grid. To place icons closer together or more
    precision, disable the grid. Right-click on an empty area of the desktop, click viewand then click snap to grid , clear the check box. Repeat these
    steps to re - turn on the grid.

    Check this link for more information:
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/the-desktop-overview

    If you want to increase or decrease the size of the icons on the desktop, click anywhere on the desktop and use the mouse wheel until you get
    the desired size.

  • Turn off the grid

    Is there a way to disable the grid on Photoshop elements 14? It's wasting my art projects. Thank you.

    Since you have the unchecked, try to go to view > snap to > guides. I hope that helps!

  • Stupid question: is there a way to align the grids online Adobe?

    While I'm able to line up on the bumper of the drawn objects, this behavior does not appear to be translated to the grids. Is there an additional parameter which must be running in order to align the grids on the canvas? I'm sorry if this is a stupid question and thanks in advance.

    Hi there crwinchester!

    Thanks for reaching out and I'm sorry for the very late reply. While you can't snap to grid itself, you can use the slide or the sovereign built into Illustrator Draw drawing and vector design app | Download Adobe Illustrator to draw to align specific or arbitrary angles angles.

    Let me know if that helps!

  • CS6 and CC constantly alignment on the grid

    I don't know if it's a network issue as I turned it off each snap to the function of the grid... but I'm having a drawing as one below where I turned off the alignment of all, everything is aligned and pretty... as soon as I use the pathfinder tool forms to go wobbly. See the images below.

    Step 1) disable all slam

    Screen Shot 2014-04-25 at 11.12.42 PM.png

    Step 2) draw shape and align. Notice in my transformation Panel when I highlight the shapes align to the pixel grid is always disabled

    Screen Shot 2014-04-25 at 11.13.18 PM.png

    Step 3) pathfinder tool before fracture

    Screen Shot 2014-04-25 at 11.13.58 PM.png

    Step 4) shape/drawing after clicking on the dividing line. Note the forms are divided, but some are not misaligned and align it on the pixel grid is now checked in my Panel of transformation. Unchecking it does nothing to help the drawing...

    Screen Shot 2014-04-25 at 11.14.42 PM.png

    Illustrator has always used to do this! I am sad and frustrated that it doesm someone tell me what I'm doing wrong = please).

    Kevin,

    You can seek to align on the pixel grid in the Transform palette and uncheck it, also uncheck align new objects to the pixel grid in the dialog box options.

    To avoid this in future documents, you can avoid the types of documents with this default value (RGB for Web, etc.), or change the default value.

  • Specifying the NIC Public private network cards during the Installation of the grid

    Version: 11.2
    Operating system: Solaris

    We will install the 11.2 grid.
    These are IP addresses, we will allocate for the Public sector and private Interfaces
    bge0--->10.80.143.214 ---- for public network (Subnet mask 255.255.255.0 )

    bge1--->172.132.116.81 ----- for private Interconnect (Subnet mask 255.255.255.0 )
    But, during the Installation of the grid, the grid Setup will ask only those IPs with the last byte 0 as shown below url
    bge0--->10.80.143.0 ---- for public network

    bge1--->172.132.116.0 ----- for private Interconnect
    http://4.BP.blogspot.com/_0ut-UEg1S3k/SqI3w1QgVLI/AAAAAAAAA1w/Zq6jwWWh_48/S1600-h/8.PNG

    The installer actually displays the "subnet". But Public and private NIC of the subnet is 255.255.255.0
    Is this really? Why the installer of the grid is not inviting the real IPs allocated to networks of Public and private?

    Hello
    Litte Note:

    Why the installer of the grid is not inviting the real IPs allocated to networks of Public and private?

    The cluster runs under Network (e.g. 10.80.143.0) under any one or two IP, because several IP addresses of the network in question can be used (it is about scalability and availability), you install a cluster it show the networks used, not used IP (this occurs in any system of cluster, you must specify the network).

  • Line up on the grid and keyboard increments

    Hello

    Cannot align with the grid to work, tried the following and try everything I came across another issue. Align to the pixel grid is disabled when opening new documents then snap to grid does not work, but the smart guides do not work either. They appear only when align it on the pixel grid is rechecked in the transformation Panel.

    Now snap not commented either.

    Y at - it another option, otherwise than in the preferences for snapping to the grid to work or the bearings commented to work?

    Also, I put my grid lines each subdivisions 10 mm all the 1 mm and my keyboard increments to 10mm then why so not my 10x10mm no respect, no place fill move 11mm with every keyboard? Set up so that the object would then line up on the grid, but is not, if align with the pixel grid is checked or unchecked be it it does not work.

    Last lion illustartor last updated, in the stakes that he could fix, but still have the same problem.

    removed from the cache too always nothing.

    PS I do not know what has changed, but it used to work before

    Thank you

    Get results similar to you. Found subdivisions affects it.

    Subdivions 8 moved between (0,0) with a cursor key down to 10 mm. just snap snap to grid.

    Subdivisions of 1

    Off to snap to grid and looked at works correctly.

  • align on the question of the grid

    Hello illustrators.

    I notice sometimes in illustrator while the option snap to grid is turned on

    When you click deliberately misled to avoid the pen tool not to snap to grid, it tends to not snap to grid.

    is there a reason why illustrator misguides directly by clicking on the grid some time?

    u2a.jpg

    Hello inquestflash,

    Since you didn't say exactly what you've done, I can't say if what you have is wrong, but I can tell you how it is supposed to work. If you select an anchor with the direct Selection (white pointer) tool and move around there must always line up on the grid. If you have several anchor points selected, Illustrator will jump to the grid from the point of anchor/s who is / are closer to the grid which can be when your mouse is.

  • Assigning images to the grid according to their value random number cells?

    Hi all!

    I need a good point (or push) in a good way.

    Background

    (With previous assistance from this forum), I created a random number of 12 x 9 grid that scrolls the numbers 1 to 9, a total of twelve times each. Then I created a button that mixes the current grid cells whenever it locks. I now want to use 9 images that I imported as individual symbols in the library (I gave them each their own class called "skin1," 'skin 2',...) "skin9") as the cell labels or equivalent. I also created images as individual video clips (using the.) The class Sprite as extended but base class keeping the real image of class names in line with the name of the object, i.e. the "skin1" image is the class "skin1.as").

    Question

    How can I assign these images for the cells in the grid according to their respective values (from 1 to 9) and ask them to fill the grid, whenever I click on the button 'shuffle'? Thus, for example, in my grid numbers 1 to 9 randomly appear 12 times each. Whenever the number 4 appears in a cell, I want it to be assigned to the picture "4 GB" (which is just a chart that looks like a button and has a fancy number '4' printed top). Here's a piece of code that I use to draw the grid cells with:

    // Creates a grid cell when called by generateGrid().
    private funciton drawCell(_numeral:int):Sprite
    {
         /*
              This is the code I am currently implementing to populate the grids with (although I
              don't want to use text labels as I want to fill each grid with an image according
              to its numerical value (1 to 9).
         */
         var _label:TextField = new TextField();
         _label.multiline = _label.wordWrap = false;
         _label.autoSize = "center";
         _label.text = String(_numeral);
         // Add numerical label to cell array.
         cellLabels.push(_label);
         var _s:Sprite = new Sprite();
         _s.graphics.lineStyle(2, 0x019000);
         _s.graphics.drawRect(30, 0, cellW, CellH);
         _s.addChild(_label);
         return _s;
    }

    While what follows is not the labour code, it will show if all goes well I want to reach inside this function so I can't use the code snippet above to the text labels:

    This will create "if all goes well" a table of 9 images by calling their classes.      var _imageArray:Array = [skin1, skin2, skin3, 4 GB, skin5, skin6, skin7, skin8, skin9];      That's what I want to get for each cell using the matrix in the image above: for (i = 0; I < cells; i ++) {if (_numeral == 1) {/ / Insert image skin1 for each instance of #1 in the grid.}}           } If (_numeral == 2) {/ / Insert image skin 2 for each instance of #2 in the grid.}           }... If (_numeral == 9) {/ / Insert image skin9 for each instance of #9 in the grid.}           }      }

    Again, I want not to use text labels. I have a skin graph custom that I want to go over each number on the grid, based on its value (from 1 to 9). Help with this is greatly appreciated!

    :

    // Creates a grid cell when called by generateGrid().
    private funciton drawCell(_numeral:int):Sprite
    {
         /*
              This is the code I am currently implementing to populate the grids with (although I
              don't want to use text labels as I want to fill each grid with an image according
              to its numerical value (1 to 9).
         */
         var _label:TextField = new TextField();
         _label.multiline = _label.wordWrap = false;
         _label.autoSize = "center";
         _label.text = String(_numeral);
         // Add numerical label to cell array.
         cellLabels.push(_label);
         var _s:Sprite = new Sprite();
         _s.graphics.lineStyle(2, 0x019000);
         _s.graphics.drawRect(30, 0, cellW, CellH);
         _s.addChild(_label);

    var classRef:Class=Class(getDefinitionByName("skin"+numeral));var image:*=new classRef();_s.addChild(image);      return _s;
    }

  • Efficiant medium to remove the grid paper batch?

    Hello everyone

    I was sent it by the Illustrator community.

    My problem is the following. I want to remove the grids of some scanned images of paper to write, and I don't want to have to do it manually for EACH image [there are hundreds]

    I worked on a way to remove lines of the grid using the magic wand tool, but it is extremely time consuming, and I don't know how to automate it.

    Essentially, I have analyses of a number of paper sources different [then the lot 1 grid is a slightly different color than batch 2 etc.].

    My goal is to remove the grid these scanned images [while that of course maintain the integrity of the comic images] and import them in IT for direct tracing.

    I use Photoshop cs4

    can someone suggest me an efficiant workflow that I could automate this?

    Something on a command batch or Adobe Bridge? downloadable actions?

    Thank you!

    A few rough ideas:

    -adjust the contrast on each image using auto levels, so that they have the same theoretical points of black and white

    -convert to grayscale

    -create an adjustment to any value less than a certain threshold levels clips and transforms your grid in white and made the foregoing black

    It may also be possible to work on something on the differences of the drawings to a clean grid with batteries, automatic alignment and selection modes, but it depends on. Try the above and create an action for her...
