Snapshot is in off State

Hi all

If I take snapshot (123) manually, I found it in on State. But if I take snapshot (456) using PowerCLI, I found it out as below:

123.JPG

I ran the command - 'New - 2003 C - name 456 Snapshot' in PowerCLI. Am I missing any parameter to activate the snapshot? Please help me to fix it.

I use it below:

vSphere 5.1 build 880146

PowerCLI 5.0 build 435427

Thank you

Ganesh

you don't have to use the 'memory '?

do: help the new snapshot - detailed

-Memory
If the value is $true and the virtual machine is running, State of the virtual machine is stored with the snapshot.

  • How to detect the relay ON / OFF state with PCI 6221 analog input card

In order to test if a relay is ON / OFF using my card PCI 6221 DAQ devices and ports of HAVE it.  I conect of the relay contacts to an AO giving 5 v and the other contact to an AI in order to detect the corrent.  In addition to a bridge is necessary to close the circuit betweeb the AO and AI.

Shoud this bridge conect the MASS of two ports?

    The plan is: relay - AO (5 v) - AO GND - GND AI - AI0 -.

This does not work and gives a continuous corrent to 10 V (I think it is a saturated)

    Hint, please?

    The simplest connection is:

    • One side of the relay contact: + 5V PCI 6221

    • Other side of the relay contact: all DI PCI - 6221

But I would add a DI (for example 10 k) resistance to GND of the PCI 6221. This will outline the entrance to GND when the relay contact is open.

First of all you can take a look at what the status of the VMware tools is on your VM with something like

    Get-VM | Select Name,@{N="Tools Status";E={$_.ExtensionData.Guest.toolsVersionStatus2}}

You can use the same property in a Where clause and take measures for States spacific tools.

    Something like that

    Get-VM | Where {$_.ExtensionData.Guest.toolsVersionStatus2 -eq "guestToolsNeedUpgrade"} | Update-Tools -NoReboot

The possible values of the property are listed in VirtualMachineToolsVersionStatus

  • Delete a snapshot

    Hi all

Our largest VM, there is a residue of a snapshot of Veeam since January. The use of the disc is 1.46 TB. I guess delete this snapshot will take some time and use the heavy disk activity. I will in a Summit out of time.

My question: is it possible to remove the snapshot while the virtual machine is running and what do you think how long it will take? To disconnect the virtual machine is not really an option, and I'm not sure that the snapshot deletion process would be much faster.

    Thank you

    Edy

The time limit is proportional to the amount of data that the virtual machine is written during consolidation, if the virtual machine is running. If this virtual machine has very high I/O consolidation then process may stop VM to the last step. This is not mandatory, but depend on the size of VMDK, VM e/s and health/performance of the storage.

I suggest doing this powered off-State, as you say of vmdk is great. But if you want to power on State, then do it hours when there is not a lot of activity on the data store and VM is less accessible.

  • How to create parallel snapshots

    Hello

I came across another post here that had this attached image:

    http://communities.vmware.com/servlet/JiveServlet/downloadImage/2-1754479-14190/450-367/snap.jpg

I have too much work, but for the life of me I can't understand how we'll get the parallel clones. Could someone please advise. (Also - is an easy way to have a base image / installation, and then have two virtually separate comptuers that use the basic installation, thus saving disk space, etc.) ?

    Thanks and greetings

    Adam.

You can do this by creating a snapshot of the current state (I recommend with the virtual machine off), and then select the snapshot/State where you want to create a fork and click the button "go to."

With this approach you can not run multiple instances of the virtual machine at the same time because it's still a virtual machine. In order to run multiple instances of a base image, use the linked clone option (VM-> manage-> Clone).

  • Suspended-> Snapshot-> change the CPU-> restore-> error?

    Hi all

    ESXi 4.0. Windows 2003 64-bit.

    A user has done this:

    1 suspend a virtual machine

    2 take a snapshot

    3. Add the 1 to 3 vCPU

    4. the virtual machine works ok. But somehow the user wants to restore it back.

    5. then, to restore the snapshot to the previous state and received the error:

The features supported by the processor in this machine are distinguished by the features supported by the processors of the computer on which the checkpoint was saved. Try to take the snapshot on a computer where processors have the same characteristics.

As far as I know, this error occurs only if move us the VM incompatible host, but we did move any virtual machine.

Is there something we can do to correct the problem?

    Thank you.

You must add/change vCPU for an engine off the coast of the VM, not a suspension.

Or have the permit for adding (and, of course, an operating system).

  • Can not take new snapshot or manage old snapshots VMware Workstation 6.5.1

I had a stable system of VMware Workstation 6.0 for a long time. I upgraded to 6.5.1 several months ago and it has not been stable. The last symptom is that I can't manage existing snapshots or create new images. The log file of the user interface indicates there is a fault of locking a file. I've gone through the other suggestions of the VMware community, but these have not helped.

    Environment:

The host is Windows XP SP3 + updates

Guest is Windows XP SP3 + updates

    VMware Workstation 6.5.1 build 126130

    Symptoms leading to the situation:

    Turn comments off

VM > overview > Snapshot Manager

    Take a snapshot

    Delete one before (old snapshot)

Wait a while, the bar of progression and GUI finally indicates success

Delete an another prior (old snapshot)

Wait a long time, progress bar freezes, the host OS Task Manager shows process VMware is inadmissible

Click on the upper right corner, 'X' in the Snapshot Manager to close the application, Windows gives error inadmissible usual cancel or continue, cancel selected

Windows offers to send symptom information to Microsoft for the diagnosis

    Restart the host operating system

Start VMware, power reviews (it powers on OK)

Repeat the mistake (VMware Snapshot Manager crashes on delete old snapshot)

    Restart the host operating system

Consider the suggestions in the community of VMware Workstation, suggestions are to delete the .lck or .lck files for comments, run chkdsk

    A ran CHKDSK D: /F /R (no problem found)

Renamed all .lck files in the folder structure customer (renowned specific folders follow below)

Start VMware powered reviews, case comments (it starts very well)

Watch VMware directory, confirm that there is no new .lck files/folders

Use VMware Snapshot Manager, try to take pictures or delete old snapshot - both fail, suspended process, must cancel

  • NB520 - Wifi and Bluetooth works fine but can not turn off

I bought new toshiba nb 520, almost everything is OK except wifi and bluetooh on the netbook cannot be disabled

I tried FN + F8 to activate the wifi but it does not work at all, the only way to turn off the wifi windows 7 uses the device for disabled Manager

is not everything, bluetooth has the same problem, yes it can be turned off by free config and turn a red light icon in the system tray to show bluetooth is in the off State, but after 2-3 seconds the light become blue and the bluetooh is on

    so the summary is
WiFi = works correctly, but cannot be disabled, except disabled it the windows Device Manager
Bluetooth = works correctly and can be disabled, but it will be swicth on automatically in 2-3 seconds after it turns off

I have tried many solution, I had the netbook bios update, reinstall the driver but still no luck
    can anyone here help me

    Hello

It's really, really strange, I mean the BT and the Wlan can be turned on and off using the Fn + F8 key combination. He s strange that it does not work.

To my knowledge the Fn buttons are controlled by VAP (value added package) and the Support of additional Flash memory card utility BT stack and Wlan driver must be installed.
    I would recommend following:

-Uninstall the driver Wlan and BT stack
-Uninstall the VAP and utility of Flash card support
-Install CCLeaner and clean the registry (CCleaner is a free tool)
-You must restart the computer after each step.
    - Then reinstall the driver Wlan and BT
-Restart and install VAP and Flash cards
-Restart the unit and check if BT and Wlan can be enabled and disabled.

NOTE: Fn + F8 should be pressed several times disabled these functions.

  • Want to fire green W701 fingerprint reader when the laptop is turned off

I realize the amount of electricity it uses is trivial, but unfortunately the accusation that carries the battery isn't much else. For the most part it's just because I don't have a use for the fingerprint reader. I completely uninstalled the software from the control panel. I thought that would get the light, but the "light on" survived the uninstaller not so complete.

I hope that there is a way to do it in the bios. If necessary I could re-download the software of fingerprint and do a from there, if possible.

It is possible to do anyway, please let me know. It's a minor thing, but I'm pretty annoyed that I'd make a sort.

When you turn on the computer (off-state), press F1 when you see the Lenovo logo (until the BONES start to load). "I think that you should find the fingerprints under security settings). It shouldn't be too hard to find.

Edit: Looks like that I don't remember it correctly. In the BIOS, you have the option to completely disable the fingerprint reader, but you do not have the option to turn off the green light only without disabling the fingerprint reader. If you want to disable the fingerprint reader completely turn off the computer, then turn on and press F1 when you see the Thinkpad logo (prior to the OS). When you enter BIOS click protection on the menu, and then select access to the Port of IO. In this list, you should have the ability to disable the fingerprint reader that I am sure that will also disable the go-ahead since the sensor is no longer in use. Press F10 to save and exit from BIOS.

To remove the green light only, or disable the option to turn on your computer by sliding the finger without completely disabling the fingerprint reader, in my view, you must reinstall the fingerprint reader software. Then, you must open the application after installation and type your password or by the finger scan enter enter parameters. Then click the settings button in the toolbar and you should have several tabs where you can turn off the green light or disable the use of fingerprint predesktop authentication.

  • Multisim 12 - by clicking on the button "stop the simulation", does not seem to turn off the circuit

    Greetings.

I recently installed 12 Multisim and have not changed the basic operational parameters, I know...

Shortly after installation, the application is an update.

Your help is apprecaited to understand what is happening...

    Steps to recreate:

    1. start multisim.

    2. open a very basic circuit that includes a battery 10V with the ground, a lamp, a voltmeter between the lamp and an ammeter in series.

    3. use 'switch' at the top right of the appliation multisim window to run the simulation.

4 lamp shows a 'enlightenment' and voltmeter indicates 10V and ammeter indicates .1a circuit.

    5. use the switch to stop the simulation.

    6. no change in the circuit or lighting of the lamp measures.

    7. same results if the simulation starts the arrow and the red square are used to start and stop.

If I close it and reopen it circuit, the circuit begins in the OFF state, but will not OFF If when you select stop simulation.

This is the case with several circuits, those provided by the College and the other that I created based on the same design.

Multisim restarting has no effect to correct this observation.

It doesn't seem normal that when the simulation running, values or apparent lamp lighting does not change.  The simulation doesn't have to go back to the start state (OFF) when I stop the simulation?

I captured the homerun status after stopping the simulation.

Thanks in advance for your help.

    Zan

    Hi zanzarista,

Multisim retains the values for everything in the circuit when the simulation is stopped. Which means that you are able to view the values on your instruments (such as multimeters) even after the termination of the simulation. When you start a simulation once again, starts all over again and that's why you see a 0 momentarily.

It is the way in which the software is intended to work.

    I hope this works.

  • Help to convert this to a machine States

    Hello

I feel a little guilty posting this question because there is so much information on break.  I picked up this vi and I would like to add the ability to pause.  I created an example vi that is a dumbed down version of the real one.  My vi has two procedures.  So I created a start-up Test 1 and 2 start Test in this sample vi to ask my question.  The question is, how do I stop the vi.  The user wants to pause, but they'll want to pause to an iteration of the loop.  I have two scenarios, one where the loop is to the event structure and another where a vi with a loop in it are in the case of structure.  I'm not very experienced with the use of the code where the timeout, but I see how to do this when there is only one shot and no loop.  Here, I have two and they all have two loops, so I don't know how to make this work in a nice state machine.  Any help would be appreciated.  In addition, as it is now, I have a sequence in each event.  Frame 1 is used to change the control to the "off" State  However, how can you do this without having the sequence.

    Thank you.

Well, you can always do just by using the structure of the event, but it's not a very good way to do it. You must first set up the case of the event to not lock the front panel, so that you can always click on the Pause button so that the test runs. Loop, you must use a while loop instead of a for loop and use a registry change to keep track of which iteration that you do. The iteration of the loop counter is not relevant in this case. If the test is a Subvi then you pass references to controls on the front panel for the Subvi.

    See attached the amendment.

Again, this is NOT a recommended approach. I just show it to you to see what it is for your information and education.

  • HP530: Adapter darkens cups, BOUNCING and power off power until it cools

Hello, I got an original HP 65W adapter and still worked but the last two days after a while not to use the laptop

whenever I turn on and start running it seems that the adapter overheats and cuts the LED fades intermittently does not reach just completely off state fades and the power output until it cools down.

I have all the usb ports to use with my dj interface and my external cooling block and he has never done that so far.

I know this laptop battery is old as it can and does she not fees for more than 20 or 25 minutes if yes would be the battery in such disrepair its origin of this problem or is - what the adapter itself starts to do not need to be replaced as soon as possible?

    Thanks in advance!

OK, I removed the battery and tried again and did not repeat the question, I'm not 100% sure, but maybe it was the battery somehow affecting the performance of the power adapter. Used at about the same time and a little longer that initially, he took to the problem are created and get noticed at first.

I turned off the system at the moment will repeat later without the battery and do a full series and I'll post conclusive results if everything's good about it.

    Thanks in advance!
