SNMP Admin logon?

I see the entrance to the newspaper below on a VPN3000:

___________________________________________________

17373 03/17/2004 16:09:47.530 SEV = 5 RPT AUTH/36 = 651

Protocol user [Unknown] [SNMP] attempt to logon ADMIN...

Status: !

____________________________________________________

I do not see why SNMP would never connect as administrator. My first thought was that it was an attempt of unauthorized access. However, I see these journal entries about once every 30 to 50 seconds. Because it says "access granted" an attempt to access would probably stop when given access.

No one knows what may cause this?

Thank you

Eliot

These are caused whenever an SNMP packet is sent to the VPN3000, usually, you'd have a HPOV, or some other management station that seeks to SNMP queries the 3000.

To get rid of them, you can define the class event AUTH for only newspaper 4 sev and higher bugs. Go to events - Classes - system - Config, add the AUTH class and its severity in the journal to 1-4. They would stop.

    Thank you.

    Look at the config 3030 under configuration-> system management-> management protocols to see if you enable always management http and the port is what you expect it to be. That's assuming that you use http to connect. If you use https, then check the Configuration here. Tunneling and security | SSL | HTTPS and if sure htts is enabled, the port is correct (default is 443) and SSL protocols are what you expect.

  • User account incorrect displayed on the logon screen

    OT: Displayed Incorrect user account
    Hi all
    When you switch on my laptop, instead of my list of normal user account, the screen displays the message "incorrect username and password" - OK.
    If I select OK, a profile of incorrect user account appears. Strangely although perhaps, the specified user name, actually part of my email address?
    I tried to enter all kinds of passwords relevant to me, but of course, who are rejected and I went back to 'bad user' - However, if I then click on the option "change user", then get a screen showing both my own correct profile, right next to the bad. By selecting the correct account, then I can access my homescreen, as usual.  I go to the user account page, expecting to remove "rogue" account, as you would with a guest account - for example - but - hey - he's not here, not anywhere for me to remove I can not just simply get rid of it.  OK - this is something I can live with - but it's so boring, Forums, so far, failed to help. Hi silverfox,.

    You have made no changes to the computer before the broadcast took place?

    Method 1
    Try the following steps:
    a. click on start
    b. type the three letters cmd in the search box, and then click OK.
    c. Enter the following command and press ENTER:

    Control userpasswords2

    d. click your account name.
    e. uncheck the box that requires users to enter a password.
    f. click OK.
    g. When prompted, enter your password.

    Method 2
    Follow these steps and check if that helps:
    a. Click Start, type regedit.exe in the start search box and press ENTER.
    b. open the registry at:
    HKLM\Software\Microsoft\WindowsNT\CurretnVersion\winlogon

    a. check whether the automatic admin logon is enabled.
    b. Add a new string value called AutoAdminLogon and set the value to 1
    c. Add a new string value called DefaultPassword entry and set its value to the password for the user indicated in DefaultUserName

  • SGE2010 how to trigger backups via SNMP?

    Hello

    I've tried, so unsucessfully, to trigger backups on our switches SGE201 TFTP server. I have backups testesd TFTP through the web interface, and who does not. I need SNMP as I need a method for trgiger scriptable backups on a regular basis. I run the query SNMP from a RedHat Linux server. So far, I have the following query worked, but it is a failure:

    snmpset - v - 1 c COMMUNITY SWITCH. MGMT. JPM ADDRESS 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.6.1.101.87.2.1.7 I have 2 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.6.1.101.87.2.1.8 I have 3 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.6.1.101.87.2.1.9 has TFTP.SERVER.IP.ADDRESS 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.6.1.101.87.2.1.11 s 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.6.1.101.87.2.1.17 FILE name I have 4

    The error I get is generic, and the same query failed on several switches operating the 3.0.0.18 software. The switch is set with the community having full access from the IP address of the SNMP-admin server.

    If someone here was able to run SNMP triggers backups and would be ready to post their query and/or software that would be greatly appreciated. Any other suggestions, comments or tips are also welcome. Thank you for your time.

    Jeff,

    The procedure to download or update the config via SNMP is as follows:

    (1) download the MIB files that we officially freed from cisco.com

    http://www.Cisco.com/Cisco/software/release.html?mdfid=282414069&flowid=3650&softwareid=283415684&release=3.0.0&relind=available&rellifecycle=&RelType=latest

    (2) compile the MIB on MIB browser in format for example MG-SOFT, Kortright. Make sure that there is no error in compilation.

    (3) configure SNMPv2 or SNMPv3 accordingly on switch SGE2010

    (4) search for the CISCOSBCopy.mib file.

    The OID is SNMPv2 - SMI:enterprises (1.3.6.1.4.1) .cisco (9) .otherEnterpise (6) .ciscosb (1) .odm1 (101). CISCOSBCopy (87)

    With the help of rlCopyTable (2), create a new entry on this particular table:

    a. rlCopyRowStatus: 4 (createAndgo)

    b. rlCopySourceLocation: 1 (local)
    c. rlCopySourceIpAddress: 0.0.0.0

    d. rlCopySourceUnitNumber: 1
    e. rlCopySourceFileName: (empty)
    f. rlCopySourceFileType: 3 (config startup), 2 is for execution of config

    g. rlCopyDestinationLocation: 3 (tftp)
    h. rlCopyDestinationIpAddress: 192.168.10.22 (ip address of the tftp server)

    i. rlCopyDestinationUnitNumber: 1
    j. rlCopyDestinationFileName: 0 x 61: 62:63 (in hexadecimal, abc)

    By doing this, it should be able to backup startup config devices unit to remove the tftp server.

  • Hard drive problems

    I have an old PC with a Western Digital Hardrive.  I'm locked out of admin logon, the PC has been stored since 2005.  I was told that if I remove and attach a magnet to it, I can intall windows XP again... Is this real or what? Thank you

    It is radical enough to make a complete new installation of Windows, but if you want to do this, you must start the computer from the CD... that will bypass completely any password currently configured in the system.

    Just after you turn on the monitor, you should see the screen of the logo of the manufacturer.  At this point, press to access the BIOS (which may be called 'Settings' or something similar).  On many computers ASUS, which will be the delete key, but you should see a legend at the bottom of the logo screen indicating what key press.

    Once you enter the BIOS, set up the "Boot sequence" (or similarly worded setting) to boot from the CD-ROM drive first.

    Out of the BIOS Setup, save the settings.

    Put the CD in the drive and start the computer.

    Remember that you have the license key which is the right one for the CD you are using.

  • Access denied, need permission to record a simple text file

    I recently installed Windows 7 Ultimate Build 7600.  This pc is a pc private home with no one else having access or all other user accounts.

    Even something as simple as change, then by recording a Notepad text file is not suitable.

    Things, I tried to solve this problem:

    1 taking possession; It shows that I am the owner
    2 set the permissions for the 'total control '; shows all the boxes ticked in permissions
    3 set my profile only on this pc to be called w/admin Admin privileges
    4 - Set the slider all the way up to minimum level UAC
    5 used "control of userpassword2" to disable login by username
    6 tried to set sharing to other users; was not allowed to do this.

    I was able to save/edit this text file, while in Mode without failure.  However, when I login to my account the singular admin, I am not allowed to save a plain text file.

    I read extensively on this issue as well as snobs "admin" who think that I should not have full control of the files/folders that I have control over.  It's my pc, and if I accidentally ruin, then so be it.

    UAC is an understandable feature for Rookie pc users.  However, the option should be there for pc users experienced changes on their personal computers without harassment by Redwood.

    Rant aside, does anyone have a real solution to a simple text file can be edited and saved without going into Safe Mode and connecting to the main account?

    Thank you.

    Hello

    If you log in using the hidden Windows administrator account, you should have no trouble.
    1, log in using your normal account
    2, open the command line by right-clicking on the icon and run as admin.
    3, type "net user administrator / Active: Yes" and press enter
    4, log off your user account and when the login screen appears you should now see a new admin logon.
    5, once connected to this account, you should be OK to change your files.
    6, before closing this admin account back to the cmd prompt and
    Type "net user administrator / active: No.»
    7, sign out, then work I hope.
    Good luck

  • Trigger connection problem

    We have created the below logon trigger that will check if the session is connected
    Toad,
    PL/SQL Developer
    SQL Developer.
    If it is connected via one of the above applications, the relaxation intersect if the IP exists in a table.

    This trigger works very well with
    TOAD, SQLPLUS.EXE, SQLPLUSW.EXE, PLSQLDEVELOPER.EXE
    It works simply with the SQL Developer even if the IP address is not in the table (ip_cnt = 1).
    When you try to connect from SQL Developer, the following query
    select trim(upper(sys_context('USERENV','MODULE'))) from dual
    Returns
    SQL DEVELOPER
    The trigger performs a string comparison ' DEVELOPER %. I tried the following without a bit of luck
    v_module like '%LOPER%'
    v_module = 'SQL DEVELOPER'
    v_module like '%SQL DEVELOPER%'
    The trigger Code:
    create or replace trigger admin.logon after logon on database
    declare

    v_module varchar2(200);
    v_ipadd varchar2(100);
    ip_cnt number;

    begin

    select sys_context('USERENV','IP_ADDRESS') into v_ipadd from dual ;
    select count(*) into ip_cnt from admin.ipdetails where ip = v_ipadd;
    select trim(upper(sys_context('USERENV','MODULE'))) into v_module  from dual ;

         if
              (v_module like '%TOAD%' or v_module like '%DEVELOPER%' or v_module like '%PLUS%')
              and ip_cnt = 0
              then
              dbms_output.put_line('Value of v_module: '||v_module);
              raise_application_error (-20108, 'INSUFFICIENT PRIVILEGES TO LOGIN ');

    Try this and see if it works, maybe there is some unknown characters.

    HR must be installed on your desktop PC, a server, and that can give you problems. But you say he's not working, so I'm not clear what type of assistance you are looking for. Do you want to run from the original PC?

    Generally, the problem you are reporting is because RH was installed without the necessary rights. The user needs the local administrator rights when installing and using it (with this version). You say it worked for years without this problem, which suggests the rights were removed, intentionally or not. Whatever the reason, reinstall it to do with these rights. See http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/597/rb_597984.html

    I wonder if you have installed with a system admin logon and try to use the product with a personal login. Your version of HR must be installed with the connection of the user.

  • Re: Failed on nine L510 Vista admin password - does not accept the admin pass

    Hi all

    Completely baffled by this one so would appreciate any advice.

    I just bought a new Satellite L510 with vista hard disk installation.

    I went through the installation process long and eventually got to the point where I could configure my admin account and the name of my computer.

    I chose the name of my admin account and typed in the password and confirm the password and named my computer.

    Now when I get to the initial Vista logon screen, it does not accept the password I am entered (and confirmed).

    This can be a problem with caps lock, as the password was all numbers.

    (the password was all numbers and five numbers)

    It, however, gives the correct indication for the password that I entered. It does not accept the password.

    I would be happy even just redo the installation process, but I have no idea how to do this, because I can't even a quick command-line anywhere.

    Help, please!

    It's strange. You can log on using a different user name?

    In any case to run recovery, you either:

    * Press and hold zero during the power upward
    * Press F8 before Windows starts to enter the Windows Start Menu, then run recovery of the option "repair your computer". http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/KB0/HTD9102IR0000R01.htm
