Software Windows update 7.4.7600.226 didn't stall when I did a reinstall of vista

How to install this release of windows 7. 4 7600.226

How to get the latest version of the Windows Update Agent to help manage updates on a computer
http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/949104

Information:

To reinstall Windows Update Agent - download the file appropriate for your system and save it to a drive where Vista is not loaded because the file cannot be launched directly from the root directory of the system.

Click Start, run, type: "D:\WindowsUpdateAgent30-x86.exe /wuforce" (without the quotes) and press ENTER to install the Windows Update engine.

Note: There is a space between "D:\WindowsUpdateAgent30-x86.exe" and "/ wuforce.

D: is the drive where Windows is not installed (IE a flash drive or a 2nd hard drive etc.)

Don't forget to restart Vista if necessary and then try WU.

I have also experienced problems with Windows Update still looking for updates when Windows Update 7.6.7600.320 has been installed automatically after the system update to SP1 (it was after doing a clean install of Windows 7).

    1. manually installing KB3083710

    2. manually installing KB3102810

    3. restart the computer

    4. run the Windows Update Diagnostic tool to reset Windows Update (support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/971058)

I have a MacPro. Recently, my computer was wiped out. I lost all my software. I bought CS2 years ago. I've updated by buying CS5 a few years later. My CS software is automatically updated by Adobe several months ago. Now, when I need to reinstall my software I can not do. I need to reinstall CS2 before I reinstall my CS5 update. However, my computer accepts no more CS2 software. How can I return my software?

I need to reinstall CS2 before I reinstall my CS5 update.

It is not necessary. You need only to re - install the latest version you have (full version or upgrade - all versions include the complete program code, it is the serial number that distinguishes plenty of upgrade)-even on a machine that has never had any installed Adobe software.

The installation program will ask you to enter the serial number from a previous version to verify that you qualify to use the upgrade.

Which is the last version that you own? CS5 or CS6? You have all your serial numbers?

You can download the latest version of download and Installation Help | Download and Installation Help

Install and enter your serial number.

Check your installed programs and so PES 9 is listed, uninstall it by using uninstall.

    Hi Larrygrybos,

    ·         You receive an error code or error message for the update failed?

Follow the suggestions below for a possible solution:

Method 1: You can try to manually download the Windows update client according to the edition of the operating system 32 or 64-bit:

    32-BIT downloads: http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=178959

    64-BIT downloads: http://go.Microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=178960

You can also see the following article for more information:

    Windows Update Error 80004002

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/Windows-Update-Error-80004002

Method 2: I suggest that you put the computer in a clean boot state and try to install the update.

You can start Windows by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7

Note: After troubleshooting, be sure to configure the computer to start as usual as mentioned at step 7 of the article mentioned above.

Method 3: If the method above doesn't help then try steps listed in the following article and verify.

  • Windows Update 7.6.7600.320 agent

    Hello

Referring to a post of 02/08/14, on this topic, (at this link: http://www.techtalkz.com/windows-help/93605-windows-update-how-much-goes-background.html):

I had to reload my 7 system of an image created in December 2013, and everything went well, except today, two days after the restore, my computer Windows Updater seems to be constantly scanning but not dong any real update. The only way to stop this needless endless searching for updates is to restart. Then we see the big red X in the Windows Update window, telling me that I don't have not updated recently, etc..

The only file that Windows updated since the restoration was: Windows Update Agent 7.6.7600.320, although just before I managed to manually update my Microsoft Securities Essentials file.

Now, I know for a fact that between the end of 2013 and the present, a series of updates have taken place with Windows 7, and yet they do not seem to be updated now and I wonder why? I leave the laptop running for hours yesterday to receive updates, nothing is.

What I am hoping to understand is how to reach all these updates system 7 since end of 2013 until today to happen?

Could you please tell what might happen or what I might try?

    Thank you

    Gregory

  • Windows Update says I need to install IE8, but when you try to installed it says I already have IE8.

    Windows Vista version 6.0.6002
    Internet Explorer 8.0.6001.18828
Windows Vista is 32 bit Home Premium

Run Windows Update to get the latest update from Microsoft.  Windows Update indicates that I need to download Internet Explorer 8 for Windows Vista.

Try to install it and it reports that "Setup cannot continue because a newer version of Internet Explorer has been detected on this computer."  Result in the Code E windows Update encountered an unknown error.

Check under the "uninstall an update" to try to uninstall and reinstall Internet Explorer 8, however there is no "Windows Internet Explorer 8" in the list as a normal OS Vista would have.

So if Internet Explorer 8 is installed, so why Windows Update still trying to install it?  And why is there no "Windows Internet Explorer 8" in "Uninstall update"?

I just use the standard uninstall to remove Norton.  Before installing McAfee.

    1. download the Norton Removal Tool, save it to your desktop: ftp://ftp.symantec.com/public/english_us_canada/removal_tools/Norton_Removal_Tool.exe

    2. close all open applications (that is, anything with an icon on the taskbar).

    3. click right on the file saved in #1 above, and then select run as administrator to run the utility. DO TAP not your keyboard until the race ends, then restart & test.

Norton applications are notorious for not to uninstall "cleanly". If the "remains" of Norton are at the origin of the behavior, run the removal tool should solve the problem. Ideally, you should run this utility before installing the McAfee application so YMMV.

    Try this:

Press Windows key + R on your keyboard

If it does not start, try the following:

Click Start, type toggle windows feature tour

  • Windows Update stuck

    Hello

I've read lots and lots of discussions about the problems of Windows Update. And no one works for me.

I just do a fresh install of Windows 7 Pro on a Dell laptop. NEW installation, no antivirus, no exotic configuration, no strange software, just Windows 7. My goal now is to upgrade to Windows 10. But the installer of Windows 10 has been blocked to the phase "Get updates".

I have re-installed Windows 7, from scratch and installed the December 2015 customer Windows Update 7.6.7600.320. Same problem, no way to get updates.

My currently installed updates list contains only a single element: KB976902. And the updated history list contains only the Windows Update Agent 7.6.7600.320.

Of course, the Windows Update service is running.

So now how can get out of this situation? Thank you.

If you have problems with Windows update, use the ISO to perform a upgrade in place.

    How to ask a question
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/555375 >

It helps those answering questions if you provide:

what the version of windows (32-bit or 64-bit) and service pack level.

you use what browser (exact version).

what application anti-virus or security suite is installed and your current subscription?

    What third-party firewall

What anti-malware software can be installed.

What updates you trying to install? (Number of KB)

What error do you get everything when trying to install updates?

Please do it in your next reply.

You may receive error code 0 x 80004005 and other error codes when you try to start a Windows XP-based http://support.microsoft.com/kb/914232computer >

    Error code 0x80004005

This problem may occur if a file that requires product Activation Windows (WPA) is damaged or missing. This problem occurs if one or both of the following conditions are met:

A third-party backup utility or an antivirus program interferes with the installation of Windows XP.

A file that requires a WPA is changed manually.

Try manually download and install the update problem - http://catalog.update.microsoft.com/v7/site/Search.aspx?q=KB935509>

  • Vista - Error Code: 80072 (cannot install Windows updates or Defender)

I have Vista Home Premium version 6.0 (build 6002 SP2)

Avast antivirus free version running. No anti-malware running. No 3rd party firewall

I got the bill113.exe virus/Trojan horse which has not been detected by the AVG Antivirus that I was running. I think I removed the bill113, and I delete AVG, downloaded Avast, ran so deleted spybot Search and Destroy. Since then-, I am getting error 80072 0n updated.

    You can sugest a fix/reset?

    Thank you very much

If the computer is already infected, no anti-virus/anti-spyware application installed or working properly.

You have a lot more work to do.

NB: If you had no installed anti-virus application or subscription has expired * when the machine was first infected * and/or your subscription has expired since and/or the machine is not kept fully corrected in Windows Update, don't waste your time with any of the following: Format & reinstall Windows.  A repair install won't help!

    Otherwise...

    1. see if you can download/run the MSRT tool manually: http://www.microsoft.com/security/malwareremove/default.mspx

NB: Run the FULL scan, not analysis FAST!  You may need to download the MSRT on an uninfected machine and then transfer the MRT. EXE to the infected machine and rename it to SCAN. EXE before running it.

    3. now post the logs required in a forum appropriate for support by an expert in the field. DON'T SKIP THIS STEP!

I can recommend the assistance of experts available in these forums: http://spywarehammer.com/simplemachinesforum/index.php?board=10.0, http://www.spywarewarrior.com/viewforum.php?f=5, http://www.dslreports.com/forum/cleanup, http://www.bluetack.co.uk/forums/index.phpand http://aumha.net/viewforum.php?f=30

If these procedures look too complex - and there is no shame in admitting this isn't your cup of tea - take the machine to a local, good reputation and stand-alone computer (that is, not BigBoxStoreUSA or Geek Squad) repair facility.
