Something got my address

Something / one has my email addresses and sends messages of "Make money at home" to all my people. How can I get rid of this? How can I change MY address? How I change my password? Help! :(

Not much you can really do about it. Spammers can easily spoof the address the emails they send to make it look as if they come from a person whose address he collected. Maybe it's because at some point either your PC or someone else or who has your email address in their list of contacts has been infected with malicious software that collects e-mail addresses, you posted your e-mail address on a web site as a forum.

However, it would be advisable to scan your PC with a program good antimalware, such as malwarebytes or superantispyware (both have a free version available), just to make sure that your PC is clean...

Download, install, let check the updates, let it scan your PC, it allow to correct what he finds.

Otherwise, you might, if your ISP gives you the option, save a new e-mail address and use that and tell your friends to ignore all messages coming from your old.

  • After downloading Firefox 4, when I type something in the address bar that he used to go directly to the site, now it goes to google. How can I change this back?

For example: I could type 'facebook' in the address bar and it would automatically take me to facebook.com now he takes me to google.com and shows me the search results. I want that Firefox take me directly to the page as before I installed Firefox 4.

I hate this new feature. Here's how to disable if:

Come on in "subject: config" in the URL
type in 'keyword' in the filter bar
    Locate the property "keyword.enabled.
Double click on it to make sure that the value is set to FALSE

eventually Firefox will take you directly to a Web site when you type in, instead of doing a search for it. Know that, if the word that you type does not lead to a Web site live while you're not going nowhere.

To counter that, for example, if you want to go to Facebook.com , but don't want to change anything in the settings of Firefox, hold down the 'Ctrl' on Windows when you enter a URL. Which will automatically add the ".com" at the end of any word you typed in. Note that this adds only the ".com" and will not automatically recognize ".edu", ".gov", etc.

  • Oh no... something got out my motherboard! If I'm cast?

My "free" Alienware might not end up being as free after all.

When put the second video card in my system (with the longest bridge in Crossfire this time), I dropped a screw on the motherboard.  I have one of those telescopic things magnetic which allows you to retrieve metal things, but when I used it to collect my stray screws, else came with it!

One of the small capacitors came just off the coast of the motherboard with the screw!  I can see where he went and he came very cleanly, but it is certainly not connected to the card more.

Is this something that can be repaired?  This small connector can be re soldered? Or should I just get a new motherboard?  Can someone tell me what motherboard is in the Alienware Area 51 machine?  Technical documents, I can download Dell don't give me enough detail to tell me exactly what motherboard it is to replace it, or they give me a schematic representation to tell me what is this little capacitor.  We are, of course, out of warranty.  Please, any help you can give me would be appreciated.

Edit: Still looking around and I could have found the kind of motherboard I have, (Dell Alienware Area 51 J560M i7) but always to be desired on the schematic that could tell me exactly what does this little Gizmo of capacitor.  Curiously, while looking around the internet for photos of this forum, I found one for sale that says it works perfectly and who is also absent from this capacitor.

I fell turn on the computer and I don't get any beep codes.  No idea if I would do something permanent to this mobo if I try to launch such what?

    Hello Ron.

Those who are called accidents or CTDs (clear for desktop). There are several possible causes for this:

    1. defective extensions: start Firefox in safe mode to disable all extensions and see if the problems percist. If they are not, try to disable your extensions, one at a time, to see that it is that you difficulties.
    2. defective plugins: disable all plugins that you don't need. The normal user only get a PDF, a plugin, Java, Shockwave and Flash plugin.

  • How to stop multiple self-switching to the address bar every time I open a new tab and try typing something anywhere outside the address bar?

How to stop multiple self-switching to the address bar every time I open a new tab and try typing something anywhere outside the address bar? As something just wants me to use this integrated search when you type something non-Web-address in the address bar and press to enter. And the most ridiculous thing is that happens repeatedly on as every second, as I just got off the address bar and start typing again, but still he passes me in the address bar, then 3, 4 times like that. And the result is that I don't see the address of this page.

I think that its has something to do with my AVG Antivirus, because it started the same time a Nation AVG started to appear in each new tab I opened (and which is irritating as me, I've read here on support.mozilla.org and it seems that the only solution is to completely reinstall Firefox, but I don't want to lose all my settings) but when I type something in the address bar and press enter It opens the search results in Google.

Please try to help me, I love Firefox but I have to switch to Chrome until I fix this.

    Thanks in advance

First of all, please update Firefox 32. 22 is no longer support is not safe. So, let us know if you still have this problem. Update Firefox to the latest version

  • How can I stop Firefox giving search suggestions in the address bar?

From the last update, if I start typing something in the address bar, I get random search suggestions as if I was using the search instead. How can I disable this? It is kind of annoying, and it really bothers me. I read in another article that I went to about: config and checked "I'll be careful", it would stop, but I'm worried it may screw up my browser. Is there another way to solve this problem? Or do I just move a superior browser?

No it won't cause other problems as long as you do not change other preferences.

  • My address bar search has changed and it's really annoying.

    Hello.
Today, my firefox has changed something in the address bar search system.
Now the first link it provides is for "popular sites" or your partners no idea but it's boring as hell.
He destroyed all my combinations of site search...
When I wrote normally shortcuts like 'pwn' 'kol' 'da' for my sites now the first link provided to ask me "want to pwn/kol/da search in google? Dailymotion? »
No ffs I don't want that. If I wanted to, I would use the search bar.
I tried to fix it but can't find it in the normal options and won't play with the config of my own.
Where I can it turn off? I can't stand it.

You can set browser.urlbar.unifiedcomplete to false to remove the suggestion to visit the location bar page menu drop-down.
Note that the sound is not really new, but it has now enabled by default in Firefox 43.

You can open the topic: config page via the address bar.
You can accept the warning and click on "I'll be careful" to continue.

  • Firefox opens only the websites via the url link, don't even try to connect via the address bar.

I can only open Firefox Web sites by using a url link. If I try to type something into the address bar it not even trying to load the page, no circle of loading, no error or no connection message. I'm on youtube.com and I type in Google.com and tape INPUT. Nothing happens. Nothing. I hit the key twice in the same direction. I can open new empty tabs, but cannot get the address bar to work. I can right-click on videos and make them properly open in new tabs or windows, but the address bar refuses to do anything.
Internet Explorer works perfectly fine however. Despite the announcements.

I've updated reinstalled disabled my firewall, restarted firefox, restarted my computer, has not done jack diddly squat. If anyone has an idea of what's going on here, I would highly appreciate your help.

In the new version of Firefox, when I start typing something in the address bar, instead of display the suggestions of my story, it shows 3 ~ ' popular search strings ", as in the Google search bar (for example if I type"a", it shows aol mail aol and amazon). I find this very irritating feature, is there a way I can disable the seach assumptions, so I can browse my pages of the story as before?

    Thank you!

Hello mreti88, this isn't a feature built into firefox - probably one of your installed addons is the cause: extensions, themes, and issues of hardware acceleration to resolve common troubleshooting Firefox problems

  • I want to delete search suggestions in the drop down menu in the address bar.

I've just updated Firefox to 22.0 and now when I type something in the address bar, the menu drop-down displays search suggestions. I used to be able to type a letter or two from the site that I wanted to go to and just press enter and Firefox automatically I would have it if it was the first thing on the list. However, now it is more complicated because the search suggestions appear as well as elements in my story. Is there a way to delete these suggests research?

I had the same problem. If you have not installed, the toolbar for swagbucks what you need to do is to click on the arrow to the right of the swagbucks icon and go to the "toolbar options". Under Advanced settings, there will be an option that says 'enable search suggestions in the address bar '. Make sure it is not selected, and your problem should be solved.

  • How to stop the address bar to give me search results?

Then just update my firefox. When I type something into the address bar, first of all I give myself a symbol magnifying glass with "suggestions" of what I might be typing. I already have firefox to see the only my bookmarks or Favorites in the address bar, so I don't know why I make suggestions. For example, a bookmark I begins with the letter E, so as soon as I start typing the letter E, the magnifying glass symbol appears and I get a result for ebay. All I want is to type the full address in me or for firefox suggest to my favorites, nothing else.

This is not the default. If you disable or remove Swag Bucks, this behavior goes away? Disable or remove modules
