  I get a pop-up window saying windows is looking for a sonic Update Manager file (said scan.msi) and can't find it - he is constantly back and forth w/Setup attempt and then returns to "Please install the scan disk file" which I DID not!  How can I get rid of this, and which upped in the 1st place?  Did not request a scan?  I am using iolo System Mechanic installed by Dell and do not know if something in this program attempts to run a scan, but it's very embarrassing to have these pop up screens constantly fight w/each other - I tried to cancel out of them, and they just continue to flow upward again and again.

  Whenever I log in I get the message update of Sonic Update Manager and enter a sonic cd which I do not have or want. It takes several sessions to hit Cancel to dismiss the message.  I deleted Panel but still message. Help.

  Do a search on computer for Sonic Update Manager.
  You can go to run, type MSconfig and see if Sonic Manager is in the list.
  If so, then uncheck the Sonic Update Manager and click ok.

  Then see if you still get the promopt.

  I installed an Alfred Workflow (see code below) that will mark all my mails as read. After you run it for a minute, the mail has crashed and I had to forcequit. I also used the Ctrl + C and CTRL-Z commands in the Terminal to leave the alfred_script, but nothing helped. I'm running out of ideas here, so I hope you could help me either reinstall the mail.app. I could always just switch to a different mail application, but it's kind of a last resort.

  Not sure that Alfred's, but it's just an Applescript script and it would not cause Mail to be planted.

  However, when running through all the messages, it is possible Mail database has been corrupted and it crashes because of this.

  I'll probably get anything out of the accident report, but others might.

  My first instinct would be to rebuild the mailbox. Because you can't do that with him crashing, you can simply delete the databases and it will rebuild them.

  Navigate to this folder:

  ~/Library/Mail/v3/MailData/

  You can either manually through the files, or copy the full path and paste it into go the folder in the menu go to the Finder.

  Remove the envelope Index files. Open Mail and see if it works well.

  If your library does not appear in your folder, hold down the Option key and select library in the menu go to in the Finder.

  Today 07/04/2011, I had a few updates microsoft security and I have installed it on my machine which is HP XW 6200 desktop running Win XP Professional. After the updates it asked me to restart and since then, it keeps me in the loop and said that something has changed (hardware/software) so follow these steps

  Start in safe mode

  Start in safe mode with networking

  Start in blah blah

  Start windows with the best know configuration that worked

  Start windows normally

  It demonstrated windows loading and then it throws me back to the option screen, but between that a blue screen appears for a milliseconds which I can't read what it says. I tried all options but it keeps throwing me back to the screen and now I'm sort of an infinite loop. I ran so many updates in the past without problem and what happened the first time. Help, please.

  (1) muse implements a markup bad comment, causing in the edition (IBE) browser to display the page properly. Only, this affects IBE and does not affect the published site. The combination of page that causes the bad markup is still TBD.

  (2) IBE does not account for the bad markup that leads to incorrect DOM, leaving IBE unusable.

  You can temporarily disable a security software and firewall installed on the system and check if the problem persists.

  Note: Be sure to enable the security software on the computer after checking.

  The minidump files showed a DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE (9f) persistent stop error that seems to be caused by the Netwsw00.sys:

  I do not see where you said you tried to change the resolution.  You have changed the DPI, but it's different than to change the resolution (although can be connected to ALSO change the resolution.)

  The resolution is not independent - that is when you change the resolution of the screen of the user, it is on this size for all users of the computer.  Your original problem was:

  This means that you are using a large non-ecran on a screen resolution and screen is allowing it to fill the entire screen.

  So, in your case, if you have the correct driver for your video card installed * and * says video card supports widescreen resolutions (what is a new monitor?) then you should...

  1.	Open display in Control Panel.
  2.	On the tab settings in the screen resolution, drag the slider to the right until it shows the parameters of selection to 1680 x 1050, and then click apply.
  3.	When you are prompted to apply the settings, click OK. Your screen becomes black for a moment.
  4.	Once your screen resolution changes, you have 15 seconds to confirm the change. Click Yes to confirm the change. Click No or do nothing to return to your previous configuration.

  Now - if you do not have the choice of 1680 x 1050, it is a new monitor and you have the latest driver for your video - card, then probably your video card was not made to support screen widescreen resolutions.
