Sony 70-200mm 2.8 G SSM II on A77?

Is the Sony 70-200mm f2.8 g SSM II taken in charge on the A77?  The description referred only full frame, not APS - C.

Thanks, that's what I suspected.  I'll be sure to post my comments after I set up enough rolls of quarters to buy it!

: - )

I have an old Tamron 28-300 my Konica/Minolta Maxxum 7 days D and the image quality isn't so great.  It will be a quantum time for me!  Just that it was a bit more affordable... or that Sony had a 70-200 f4.0 alternative for my A77 wish.

Probably the best source for used lenses in the United States is KEH. They specialize in used gear and thus have a better choice than conventional retailers who sell used gear as an offshoot of their main activity. Amazon and eBay are also good choices, but you must be more careful with them.

Purchase of a used lens is not as full of dangers, as many people believe, but there are some things you should pay attention to.

    1. Clean the lens, if it isn't already and look closely at the optics at both ends. There should not be any misalignment of the indicidual (indication of damage) lenses, and should not be cracked or engraving on any of the lenses (indication of damage of mushroom).
    2. The aperture blades should all be present, anf, they must be clean and dull. If one of the blades is brilliant, the lubricant turned to sticky goo (an indication that the lens has been exposed to high temperatures) which will slow down or even adversely affect their operation.
    3. Make sure that the zoom and setting rings to the point (and ring opening, if she a) work smoothly through their full range.
    4. Check that the lens perfectly fits your camera.
    5. Check that the lens autofocuses quickly, quietly (but not necessarily in silent mode) and invariably, when alternating between close and distant subjects.
    6. Take a few pictures with very large openings (numerically small numbers) and some with very small apertures (numerically large numbers) and make sure that they are all properly exposed. (If photos taken with very small openings are brighter than they should be, the aperture blades could be sticky, as I mentioned in #2.)

If you see something that doesn't look good, it box, send it and make sure you get a refund.

A great resource when looking for used lenses is Dyxum.com.

One thing you must remember, when looking at the Minolta lenses used, is that digital image sensors are brilliant, much more that of 35mm film, which can cause the light to reflect back light to the lens. Objectives for the film cameras don't have the coatings on the rear lens elements that prevent the light to reflect to the probe, as objectives for digital cameras. This can produce ghosts and flare with compositions that are very bright images.

Good luck. There are countless lenses that perform well on the body of Sony A-Mount and can be made for a fraction of what the new lenses sell for, and there are countless lenses that are not yet available of the current offerings of Sony.

  • Sony TV converters

I have the full camera framed with Sony A99v. My goal are Sony 70-300mm G, Sigma 150-500mm F5-6. 3 APO HSM. 1.4 to 2.0 of Sony AF teleconverters will work with the A99 motorway and the 2 lens I mentioned. What other Sony lens work with the teleconverters and A99v? I have not found information on what works with these converters. I don't want to put the money without knowing that they will work. Thank you

That these lenses are compatible with the teleconverters. the two lenses that you are not on the list.

NOTE: due to the quality of this converter design (elements 5/4 groups), the only teleconverter will adapt and work with a wide selection of lenses. Only the Sony or Minolta following objectives are compatible:

    • f/2.8 300mm (D) SSM
    • f/2.8 70-200mm (D) SSM
    • f/2.8 APO G 200
    • f/2.8 APO G 300
    • f/4 APO G 300
    • f/4.5 APO G 400
    • 600 f/4 APO G

Note: the following objectives can be used in manual focus mode:

    • 70-400mm f/4-5, 6 G SSM
    • 135mm f/2.8 [T4.5] STF
    • Macro 200mm f/4 G

all a-mount will work with your A99 but it is strongly recommended that you use a lens that is designed for a full frame as your A99 sensor, also the problem with the teleconverters is that they reduce the amount of light to the sensor so if your using the Converter 2 x one F2.8 it becomes a F5.6.

  • How can I get this question to the right person in Sony cameras?

How can I get this question to the right people in the Sony cameras?  The main site contact form does not have a pre-sales question:

I intend to buy a digital SLR type that has at least 24 million pixels, 4K recording/storage/exit offers video, Wi - Fi, objective interchangeable with anti-shake zoom function and which allow me to save my pictures in full form, so that I can view in 4 K on a Sony 4 K TV.
Looking at the picture of the cameras is intimidating.  I prefer Sony.  Can you point me to one of your cameras that meet my needs?  If there is on the way before the month of may of the next year, please let me know about that as well.  In addition, I don't want the so-called very high prices of professional cameras, namely $5K or more.  Thank you.

With regard to a DSLR with 4 k video, no again.
Will there be one in the future? Yes there will be.
    When? No idea yet.

The closest thing that currently holds the Sony is the Sony RX10ii

DSLR body, 4 k video, built in an optical (in lens), wifi/NFC, stabilizer etc.

However, it is only 20mp and it uses not interchangeable objectives.
It's lens located between however 18-200mm (35mm equivalent)

Finally, it's only a 1 "sensor, so don't expect a quality digital SLR image, but quality located near DSLR quality nonetheless.

  • Sony SAL75300 lens

I am the owner of Sony SAL75300 lens, is there a tele-converter that can go with this goal. Kindly advice.

    The answer is 'no '.

The long answer is "Yes, but..." "Most teleconverters cost much more than the SAL75300 and if you found one that was consistent (that is, can in good physical shape and will not damage the lens or himself during the operation), it wouldn't support AF with any reliability, and it would degrade the quality of the image faster than simply cropping of the images of the objective in itself.

Teleconverters are cruel and ruthless and surprisingly strong demand and fast lenses think in a first time - 300/2.8 or 500/4.  I used Sony X with the 70 - 200/2.8 G SSM 2.0 (more sharp lens I've ever used) and was disappointed by the results.

  • Lightroom 5.5 identification of lens 28-70 mm FE A7 Sony with JPG

Learning my new camera with EF 28-70 mm A7. A number of photos with quality = Fine (Jpg). When they are imported into LR 5.5, in the develop Module and I select Activate profile Correction and select Sony, the only option I give myself to the camera lens is the Sony DT 18-200mm (which I did not, never used).  In the library, the brand, the model Module and the lens appears correct.  And, to make things more confusing, if I click on the model of the lens in the develop module, it shows that I have 900 + images taken with the 28-70 lens (poster thumbnails).  Therefore, metadata appear to be in LR, but I stuck on getting the develop Module allowing the correction of the lens.  Looks like the lens EF 28-70 has been supported from 5.3 LR.

When I shoot in raw, the objective data is displayed correctly in the library Modules and develop.

    Any ideas?

    Thank you

Aim profiles are created expressly and separately for the raw and JPEG images. In General, there are more profiles for raw files. And apparently, it's the case with your particular lens. Adobe provides a profile Downloader free lens lens profile creator. You can check to see if someone else has created a JPEG profile so that the lens, or you can create one yourself.

  • When using final cut PRO is the best frame for a camcorder Sony NX3 rate?

What rate of registration is the best to use 1080i or 1080 p when you work with FCP and iMovie?

I am using a video camera of Sony NX3

    iMac El Capitan

    10.2

Depends on the type of video you want to edit and deliver.  I'd rather pull the same I have to deliver.  If there is a lot of action, a movement fast, faster frame rates.  Talking heads frame rate, slower.  But it can be subjective as to what 'look' that you will, too.  1080, 720, 4K, they are no better or worse at different frame rates, different frame rates that give you different options of post production and to specific "looks like".

So, let me ask you; What is your final delivery location?  Where / how t - he was seen?

  • I have a Sony E-Reader. Can I transfer books from my library of books I have on my Sony camera and similarly in my library of books I have on my Sony camera?

I have a Sony E-Reader. Can I transfer books from my library of books I have on my Sony camera and likewise my Sony camera to my library of books I?

I believe that if you open iBooks, you can drag and drop books from your library on the desktop of your Macbook. It will export the books as an Epub file, you can install on your Ereader as you normally would.

I think that you open your Ereader in Finder and drag and drop it in the folder it. At least this is how I do it on my Kindle.

Give it a try, see if it works for you also.

I had intermittent problems with the download failures. Today, I tried an update of the firmware of Sony A99 and he failed twice. I dropped Fire fox and used IE. Result was quick and my camera has the most recent Version.

I tried a few months ago the install a new version of the software IOBit and abandoned. Now, I think it is Firefox that causes the "" failure ".

Exactly! It is the purpose of assistance to solve problems, not not to deny them. It's frustrating when comments are simply ignored.

I'll forward your comments to the Mozillian developers and hope that work on the subsequent updates will include improving the question.

Because now that ends this thread, so might want to flag the discussion as resolved so that the thread was duly filed.

  • How to import pictures from Sony CCD-TR400 Hi8?

    Hello

I was given an old Sony CCD - TR400 Hi8 vid cam because I have a lot of Hi8 videos years ago and I'd like to check out / import.

It has a / v (RCA), rfu and S video cables. Only I need get to FW400 or 800 so I can review/import in FCPX?

Also, given that I started using FCPX I used tapeless cameras, was so curious, then I see a tape on a camcorder like that without capture (as I have with FCS)?

    Grazie

    Elmer

Search NTSC-to-USB converters and investigate conversion digital video signals Firewire USB or even fall in love if your Mac doesn't have Firewire port.

You will probably use something like QT, iMovie or even Image Capture to bring your NTSC to your Mac as Quicktime files, you can then bring in FCPX.

When I was the conversion of hundreds of hours of 3/4 ", VHS and Betamax to digital, we used FCP7 on a MacPro Tower of aluminum. It's much easier than kludging the cylinder and FCPX. I just started the capture, started the tape machine and just let it run, do not attempt to change during the capture. Then I was able to edit in ye olde FCP7 and only what was necessary for export.
