Sony A7II ARW files appear to be unsupported or damaged in LR 6

Hi all

I encountered problem in LR 6 reading ARW files coming out of Sony A7 II.

Photo can be seen in the library but can not read the profile to "develop."

It displays a message error "the file seems to be unsupported or damaged.

I have a version of Lightroom and Camera RAW 9.0 6.0.

Funny, is that I have no problem when I shoot "RAW and jpeg, fashion a few weeks ago.

I encountered this problem today when I shoot RAW only.

Please can any expert help me here.

Thanks in advance!

If they are uncompressed RAW files must be minimum v6.2 Lightroom.

14-bit uncompressed Raw support was only added to the A7II with an update of the firmware of Sony in November 2015.

http://PetaPixel.com/2015/11/04/Sony-A7-II-firmware-update-to-bring-uncompressed-14-bit-RA w-and-best-af.

This update of the firmware can only be read by Lightroom 6.2. You would be advised to upgrade to the current version which is v6.3

  • Why my. JPG files "appear to be unsupported or damaged" in LR 4?

    Hi all

Why my. JPG files "appear to be unsupported or damaged" in LR 4?

I never had this before isssue, just (to try) to import files of my snycomatic file (taken with my iphone). I do exactly the same thing as usual, but this time, when I try I get "files appear to be unsupported or damaged."

All are jpeg files, all open in finder very well, and he allowed 8 of the 30 some odd pictures to import? Preview or images were not available in the thumbnails, although those who work was visible.

I had checked the permissions of folders are all great and I seem to be able to import other files in other folders without any problem.

Under Lightroom 4.4 & OSX10.7.5 a Mbpro, so this is useful at all.

Any ideas/help would be greatly appreciated.

I tried fixing the metadata with exiftool - did not work (which usually means the problem not in the segment of metadata, even if it is probably not 100% (?)).

I could solve this good upward using PixRecovery - you can try it here:

    https://online.OfficeRecovery.com/PixRecovery/

It is relatively expensive: $10/photo set online (without him thundering "watermark" I mean) or $50 for buying license for unlimited use.

You might be able to find one cheaper if you shop for example iSearch to "repair corrupted jpeg.

  • the files appear to be unsupported or damaged

I synchronize my files LR with my hard disk files.  I get a page of results of import that says: some import operations have not been executed.  The files appear to be unsupported or damaged.  He then lists the files which cannot be imported.  When I look at the files, some are. CR2 (Canon RAW) files, some are. TIF files and some are. PSD files.

I don't know when the problem is from, but I was able to open earlier.  There are hundreds of files that cannot be read.

    Windows 7; LR 4.4; Photoshop CS6

    Help will be very appreciated

    Here's a solution:

Try to move the original elsewhere. Chances are finder kick ass and say no, that some data is unreadable. Select all the items again, right click-> new folder with the elements. Bingo that will work. Move this folder out, start your Lightroom Catalog and point it to the new folder.

This will work only if you can play the file in another application. (PS, Windoze etc...) If the file is corrupt it is corrupt. I don't know why this works, but there simply.

    Good luck

  • Lightroom 1.4.1 files appear to be unsupported or damaged

    Hello everyone.

    Here are my specs:

    Lightroom 1.4.1

    Mac OS X 10.6.1

    Canon T1i Raw files. CR2

Whenever I try to import files in Lightroom 1.4.1 I get the following error:

"The files appear to be unsupported or damaged."

This happens on every image.  I can open the fine with Aperture and Photoshop CS3.  The files are imported to my computer and are directly from the device.

When I check, there is no update available for Lightroom 1.4.1.   Does anyone else have this problem?  Is there a solution?

    Thank you

    Justin

This means that the camera is probably not supported load on LR 1.4. Upgrade either to LR 2 (cost money), or you are using the latest (free) dng converter to convert your CR2 files to dng files. LR 1.4 will read those fine.

  • LR 5.7.1 (OS 10.11.2) does support the Sony A7II .arw files (after software update - 14-bit uncompressed RAW). I have problems with the files of importation of this camera.

    ?

No, it isn't. The latest version only.

If you do not want to go to 6.3 or CC, you can use the latest DNG converter, convert your images to DNG and import those in 5.7.1.

  • Lightroom is not able to import my Sony A7s .arw files. Help?

    Hello

Lightroom is not able to import my Sony A7s .arw files. Help?

What exact version of LR do you use?  Use the help / System Info and look down.

The A7S requires LR 5.5 or newer.

The A7S II requires LR 6.2 or newer.

Files uncompressed Sony A7xxx cameras require LR 6.2 or perhaps LR 6.3 I believe.

  • Sony. ARW files into 10 elements

    Hello

I have Photoshop Elements 10 installed on my Macbook Pro and couldn't change my. My Sony A77II ARW files because it informs me that she does not recognize this file type. PSE has the plug-in ACR 6.5 running, but I couldn't update to 8.6 ACR, which is the version that recognizes my camera. Is it possible that I can update PSE10 so that I'll be able to edit my files? If this isn't the case, someone at - it solutions as to what I should do?

    Thank you

    Alex

    Hi Alex,

Sorry, I forgot to warn you of the way the converter works - works at the level of folders.

The best idea to put all your ARW files in a folder and you specify the folder for the converter file No. You can specify that the converted files go to another folder if you want.

    Good luck

  • Sony. ARW files hi definition in the Lightroom

Hi guys, I just got a camera Sony Alpha AIIR with 42mp resolution. The RAW file is ARW. I had to rank up to the Lightroom for CC (5 Lightroom does not support the ARW files). Then the files in Lightroom CC didn't hi resolution. And of course, when I export the changed image is without hi resolution.

Is that all I have to do to get full resolution in the images?

    Thank you!!

I took the freedom to play with a couple of your images. If I offended you, or you don't like what I did then I apologize. Panoramic photos seem to be significantly underexposed. The photo of your model probably could be improved with a bit of fill flash. And other issues seem to be centered around more in more familiar with focusing system.

Underexposure, by itself, can create a lot of unwanted noise. Don't give up, however. I think you have a wonderful combination. Just keep him home.

I bought the new Sony A77ii. Its files are not supported by Lightroom 5.7 (latest version).

Y at - it a plugin or an update for the ARW fles in lightroom without converting them?

    Updates

You can get the updated 5.7.1 at the link above if you are using the version of perpetual license. If you use the connection of creative application of Creative Cloud cloud and see if there is a facility available for Lightroom. If so proceed with the installation and it will run the installation of the latest version.

  • Sony a6300 ARW (RAW) files supported by Lightroom?

    Hey there,

Maybe this question came up to 100 times, but the only answers I can find are from a few months back so I would like to know if there is an update.

The forums say (4/5 months back) that Lightroom was waiting for an update for Sony a6300 ARW (RAW) support files. I downloaded Lightroom today (trial version) with the hope of buying it but if I can't access my RAW files... There is no need at the moment.

Is there an update? I have the latest Lightroom and CameraRaw installed.

Does anyone know a way around this?

Thanks in advance for your help.

    Matt.

This is not the latest version.

You need to update your Lightroom for Lightroom CC 2015.7 to keep updated to Lightroom

  • Lightroom 6 and Sony ARW files: any ideas on how to open them?

    Hello

I've recently upgraded to a version in retail box of the of the LR5 LR6 on a Windows 7 PC. Before I installed LR6 I had to covert all my (of a gun D 760) CR2 files to DNG files to open. But since LR6, I can't open the CR2 files no problem. If all well and good...

However, my son uses a camera Sony A6000 and he sent me a file ARW (RAW native format of Sony) to change its name and I can not open in Lightroom 6 in all.

I tried to convert a DNG file and a Tiff file, but when I navigate to the appropriate folder, Lightroom is not 'visible' as well as all other DNG files in the same folder. When I try to add the Lightroom file 'sees' the other DNG and CR2 files... just not the ARW file converted.

Oddly enough, I seem to be able to open the ARW file in Photoshop CS5, but when I save it in Tiff format in that Lightroom is unable to see when I'm sailing on the desktop or in the folder I have recorded.

PS I also tried opening the ARW files in Lightroom directly by converting only the DNG files, but that does not work either.

Does anyone else have any experience of this? No workaround would be greatly appreciated.

The A6000 has been supported from 5.4 LR - see devices supported by Camera Raw . It is not a compressed format, is it? I don't know much about Sony, but I wonder if that's the problem.

As an experiment, place the ARW file in a folder to share, and then see if you can import it.

  • Blue screen to develop module in Lightroom CC2015.2 [was: more than Sony RX100.] ARW file problems]

I have a camera Sony RX100 first generation (circa 2012) and found that Lightroom (version 2015.2) or Adobe Camera Raw (version 9.2) are able to view the ARW files imported from an SD card in the device.  See screenshots:

    Suggestions?

    Claes,

Thanks for the very quick response.  Your suggestion worked in both applications.  I will also review the updates of the program.  However, it is not possible that our software is packaged and 'pushed' on client computers (PCs) like mine.  Manual updates usually do not work in our environment.

For reference material that I use is:

Dell Optiplex 7040 (core I7 vPro)

    16 GB OF RAM

Integrated Intel HD Graphics 530 video processor

I'll also get the latest video card drivers.

    * Update *.

Update the video card driver seems to be the 'real' fix.  Now, I'm able to activate the option 'use the graphics processor' again in both applications.

    :-)

Here are the before and after versions of driver:
