Sony Vaio made 14A Touch Screen issues

Hello, I recently bought the SVF14N13CXVB made 14. Once I updated to Windows 8.1 my touchscreen stopped working from time to time. In order to get it working again, I need to activate/disable the driver in Manager of devices or lock/unlock the laptop. I've been through updates, including the touch calibration and gestures as well as the 230 BIOS updated three times to return to factory settings and try again. However the problem persists. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Hi Cali_91,

Please try to download the Tool of Calibration of the touch panel and please follow these steps:

IMPORTANT: DO NOT TOUCH THE SCREEN DURING THE EXECUTION OF THE CALIBRATION.

  1. To ensure that no other program interferes with the installation and calibration run, save any work and close all other programs. The taskbar must be clear of applications before proceeding.
  2. Please follow the steps below to download and run this program.
  3. Download UNOOTH-P0112513-1082. EXE a temporary of the file or download directory (Please note this directory for reference).
  4. Go to the directory where the file was downloaded, and then double-click UNOOTH-P0112513-1082. EXE file using the ClickPad or TouchPad only, to start the calibration.

Note: Please do not touch the screen.

  5. The screen 'Find a file', click 'OK '.
  6. At the level of the 'C:\Users\Username' folder, click the folder 'Calibration of the Control Panel tool'.
  7. The 'Tool of Calibration of the Panel' screen, click the file "CalibG4".
  8. Once the calibration completed, turn off the computer.
  9. Once the computer is turned off completely, turn the computer on.

Once the computer is restarted, the calibration is completed.

Note: If the problem is not resolved, please make sure that the battery is charged at 30% or above and all other devices are detached from the computer, and then run the calibration again.

I hope that everything works!

  • Sony Vaio faucet 11 - random touchscreen issues

I bought a 11 Tap Sony VAIO (model SVT11213CXB number) and actually have experienced a similar problem with the touch screen as owners of Duo, but with the mouse cursor goes to the top right (instead of the left) of the display in landscape mode and clicking randomly.

When I bought water from the tap in November, I updated the drivers and BIOS via Vaio Update, ran all the updates of Windows and then upgraded to Windows 8 to 8.1. All updated without problems or errors during the installation. The touch screen seems to randomly occur after the upgrade, but I must confess that I didn't have the tap water well before the upgrade to 8.1. If the question was probably there before the upgrade. I also ran all the patches from Microsoft for the Windows 8.1 "lousy mouse" question and still no change.

After a lot of troubleshooting and research, I narrowed down it to the following:

    Problem driver or firmware 1.)

    IR or RF interference) 2

    3.) related material

#1 seems the most likely in the Duo many owners have argued that the problem has been resolved by installing the N - Trig Duo feel software and drivers.

    http://Forum.TabletPCReview.com/Sony/55222-Sony-VAIO-duo-11-touchscreen-screen-problems.html

But when I run the installer it errors saying that "N-Trig hardware was not detected. I thought then that maybe the update of the modified BIOS 12/17 watered the N-Trig firmware and the touch input was handled only by integrated Windows Pen and Touch. Mainly because the devices and Program Manager installs don't list anything marked "N-Trig. But I went to our Sony store and drivers listed for their display unit is the same as my config. A couple of owners of Duo set out this thread they encountered the same error. The N-Trig support forum suggests that cases where you receive this error during install it to contact the manufacturer of the device. But they only software and drivers for Windows 8 and not 8.1, so this could also be the cause of the error when installing (compatibility mode does not work).

#2: I couldn't really test the theory of IR sensor that I can not understand how to turn off the sensor? It is possible that the sensor could be picking up interference and causing the random input touch screen (the Duo also has the IR sensor?). However, (with the selected hidden devices) Device Manager does not list an infrared device, only devices and printers or Vaio Control Panel? There are drivers that are installed, even if apparently it controls our fine TV using remote app from Sony. I guess I could just cover the sensor with tape, but I was hoping to avoid getting the sticky tape on the cover of my tablet.

RF interference could be a possiblity, but doubtful. The tap water and the Duo have the same power to my knowledge card (I do not use a 3rd party power adapter, I use a Sony supplied with the appliance). However, I tested this theory just now leaving the Tablet unplugged during use and I still encountered the problem. I also tried it away electronic nearby, including my iPhone, but still no change. I thought also keyboard and mouse wireless, the tap water was the issue, but turn it off while the cursor is by clicking at the top right of the screen does not occur. External mouse and keyboards do not solve the problem either (without wireless, wired or bluetooth). I could not reproduce the problem on the touchscreen in the case, sometimes just at random and generally lasts no more than 10 seconds when it does.

I had to move my taskbar to the top of my screen so that it does not close the window of program or browser that I work and instead just opening the window date and time repeatedly.

I really hope this isn't #3 I have not had the time unit and will not exchange it for another and will not bother to send it in for repair. Especially since the owners in other threads Duo have had their screens replaced, only to have the problem reoccur. The owners of duo have also tried a full system refresh, only to have the same problem, so I'm not bothering with this track that I don't want to have to reinstall all my software again, reactivate licenses.

Return to Best Buy holiday window expires on Jan 14, so if I don't get a response from Sony or get this resolved before then I'm probably just to take it back. I'm past an Apple Macbook Air for the tap water and even sold my Mini iPad I wanted a true all-in-one device. I was also counting on exchanging my iPhone against a Xperia from Sony Z1, but I'm hesitant examining the issues I'm having my first purchase of Sony.

Overall I really like the direction that Sony goes with their products and want to stay with them, but I have to admit that the quality of the devices Apple and their response to the questions related to the products is currently unmatched. I hope Sony can deliver the same question, but I'm skeptical that a few discussions about this with the Duo go back to 2012, early 2013 with still no resolution or definitive answer as to why the Support of Sony.

Yes, quite the question. It's probably an electrical interference or software. Out of curiosity, have you tried to test whether or not it engages with and without power cord? This seems like one of the things isolated by a few people then allows to rule that, at the present time. Second would be if you tried to calibrate the screen? There are instructions on how to do it here: https://us.en.kb.sony.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/37544/c/65%2C66/kw/37544.

Let me know what happens and I'll see what we can do from there. Sony is a great place to get electronics but hiccups occur. My Duet works well and I didn't so far no problem with the touch screen.

  • OfficeJet Pro 8600 Plus touch screen issue

    Hello

I have an officejet pro 8600 and the touch screen has a very annoying attribute. The touchscreen overlay coincide with the screen itself. On the left side, the overlay is in the correct position, but when you move to the right the overlay gets more and more mismatch of whats on the screen. For example, when the screen is showing a keyboard it is indeed impossible to type a '0' (zero) as 1 mm from the right side of the overlay gives a "9".

I used to have a windows device THIS old iPaq you rebooted it asked you at each of the corners touch in turn so that he could align the screen with the touch screen overlay. The more than 8600 there any possibility to align the overlay, perhaps with a downloadable application, or am I stuck with not be able to use certain bits of functionality on the printer because the overlay align properly?

    Stuart Watton

Sorry, but this printer does not have the opportunity to download an application, or align the touch screen. It is more of a hardware issue, and you must contact the Support HP (1800-474-6836). I hope this helps.

  • XPS18 Touch screen issues

I have a new XPS 18, which works well with the keyboard and mouse, sitting in the stand XPS. However, the problems start when you pick them up at the screen and transport it to use in another place away from the keyboard and mouse.  Unfortunately the tactile aspects of the screen just stop working.  I have made sure all updates are installed (drivers Windows and Dell, including the BIOS).  It seems to stop working when you switch from landscape to portrait or to carry the machine.

This is understandable, it is incredibly frustrating that the whole point of having this desktop/tablet device has been to move and use the large screen in the kitchen or in the living room, with the touch screen.

If you have any tips please help, I suspect it's more error software than hardware since the work of touch screen perfectly sitting on the stand with the keyboard and the mouse in the range.

    Thank you

This has proved to be a display of fault and Dell is out and spent for a new screen.  Fortunately, it occurred in the first two months of ownership, so all done under warranty.  No problem since the new screen is gone.

Just bought a brand new 6 iPhone plus (1 week) and find that the touch screen is very sensitive (definitely a regression of previous generations).

I would really prefer not to return the unit and go through all the hassle of re-covering the screen and the phone (glass of Zagg and Otter Box switch Series as with all of my previous devices).  Anyone know of a fix?

In fact, the colors on my touchscreen FHD T440s are very good. WARNING: no pixel dead either. There is no ghosting or (choice of the wrong words). The only thing I noticed is bleeding it backlight on the edges of the screen when its black... but that disappears in white/color lights. Hi shameo

When was the last time it worked correctly? Have your tried to calibrate your touch screen?  You can try to

Remove the display driver from the Device Manager, and then restart your computer.  When the computer restarts, the operating system will find the device and re install the appropriate driver.

  • Computer laptop Sony VAIO on Windows 8 may not change the brightness

I have a Sony VAIO VPCS11X9E and my screen brightness is at the lowest setting for some reason any. In addition, my FN keys for brightness setting do not work. All the means to change the brightness do not work, this does not include the brightness bar when you go into the settings.

I tried both installation driver, checked for any drivers missing or out-of-date drivers, but the only one who seems to be obsolete is my Intel HD graphics that I'VE updated, but the Intel driver update checker says otherwise.
I deactivated AND activated (just in case) the Adaptive brightness, but it doesn't work.
I got Windows 7 Ultimate running before but decided to upgrade to Windows 8. Windows 7 has never had any problems with the brightness. Also when I load upward, even thought I have replaced Windows 7 with Windows 8, it still load the dual boot screen, asking me what OS I want to start with. Starting with Windows 7 goes down several times, then it will take me to repair VAIO system. Windows 8 of course takes me to Windows 8.
When the laptop starts up, the large letters or "VAIO" is bright and normal and sometimes, but not always, when it comes to dual boot screen, the brightness is normal. However, when this happens, as soon as I move the mouse or click on a button, the brightness goes immediately back down to very dim.
When loading upward in another system or startup program, the brightness is fine. For example when I go to Sony VAIO Recovery Center, the brightness is ok. Also, if I boot in something like miniXP or a separate operating system on a bootable floppy or USB, the brightness is fine as well.
I tried many patches of driver, but NONE of them work! I tried to boot in safe mode and try to install some drivers manually because that apparently works, but it makes no difference at all.
If you could help me, even if this does not work, I would be very happy!
    Thank you very much.

I found how to adjust the brightness on my Vaio that uses Windows 8, I went to

    VAIO Control Center
    Image quality
Off the brightness of the display
I hope this helps everyone with this problem.
