SP2-0103: nothing in the SQL buffer to run.

HI I have a simple procedure in my oracle 11g database which is like follows.i call this procedure from a shell script and I'm trying to redirect this dbmsoutput to a log file in the unix shell script.
but after that the script runs when I chat log file, it says SP2-0103: nothing in the SQL buffer to run. What is the dbmsoutput not redirected to the log file?

procedure
CREATE OR REPLACE procedure display_line as
begin
dbms_output.put_line(' this is displayed in output file');
end;
/
Unix script
sqlplus -s scott/tiger@ORCL<<!>>$PWD/abc.log
set server output on
spool $PWD/abc.log
exec display_line
/
spool off

!
Concerning
REDA

exec display_line; itself turns into

BEGIN
   display_line;
END;
/

You don't need a ' / ' at the end again.

In addition, it seems that sqlplus does not record the history of previous orders, when you use the keyword EXEC.
If you use the start... Keywords of the end, the previous block/statement executed is saved and run when we do a ' / '. Check this session below. I don't know why that is.

  • Same code running in SQL * more edit the sql buffer vs = different results file

    Hello

    For the last few minutes I was scratching my head trying to understand why my little piece of code was not working.
    As a result, a sample:
    create or replace type booktitles_nt is TABLE OF VARCHAR2(100);
    /

    /
    When run interactively, I get the following results:
      1  create or replace type booktitles_nt is TABLE OF VARCHAR2(100);
      2  /

      1  create or replace type booktitles_nt is TABLE OF VARCHAR2(100);

      8    end loop;
      9* end;
    SCOTT@ORCL>
    and run it, and it works:
    SCOTT@ORCL> @C:\Users\J\Documents\SQL\test4.sql

    Type created.

    Book number 1:Great Expectations
    Book number 2:Ulysses
    Book number 3:1984

    PL/SQL procedure successfully completed.
    Can someone tell me why the behavior is different when it is run from a file when it is run, well, interactive? There seems to be some limits on what you can interactively run vs. what you can run from a script.

    Thank you very much

  • How can I leave echo in the sql worksheet developer sql?

    When I generate out of the script from a sql file that is loaded into the spreadsheet sqldeveloper, the statement appears in the output pane before the results of the query. This can occur because there are substitution (for example & site) variables in the query. • Identify the SQL statements that are executed frequently

    I would like to identify SQL statements that are executed may times (e.g., > 1000 times) during an interval AWR.

    I am aware of coloring a SQL_ID with exec ('...') dbms_workload_repository.add_colored_sql; but then the SQL ID must be known.

    Is it also possible to do the same for the (not yet known) SQL statements that are executed > 1000 times? I think that the SQL statements that run very quickly (for example 1 s <) won't be captured automatically in a CWA even if those statements are frequently performed.

  • Get the SQL execution plan that is currently running in 9i

    Hello

    Apologies for the magnitude of this issue, but I was wondering if someone could help me to the more accurate/efficient way to get a piece of running Oracle 9i SQL execution plan.

    in 10g and 11g of course dbms_xplan.display_cursor (sql_id) can be used.

    How can this be achieved in 9i, currently I am just get the SQL_TEXT and then executing a plan to explain ("EXPLAIN PLAN for.") - I think that this is not neccesserally the same plan to explain that will be used for the sql code that runs if

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thank you

    The plan exists after analysis difficult.
    Statistics of actual execution will require a completed.
    That is why sql followed in real time is so great in 11g.
    In 9i, difficult.

  • Run (or re-run) orders in the SQL * more buffer

    I'm confused about sql / command. by defination, it run (or re-run) orders in the SQL * more buffer. How do I know if it execete or re - run a command?
    for example, I run a select statement, seems that I have to type / for the result. When I run a create table statement, it seems to run twice with / and table I is error.

    Someone could clearify when must - be used and when not to use it.

    As suggested Aman, that's the difference between a pl/sql block and a SQL statement (DDL or DML).

    The semicolon is therefore not a part of SQL when you enter a statement SQL, SQL * Plus knows and will execute the statement as soon as she sees a point comma (which ends with the statement), or slash (run the buffer).

    But a semicolon is a pl/sql statement terminator. So when you enter a pl/sql block, SQL * Plus keeps accepting lines of code until you have finished and then send the entire block to the database when you type a slash. This is also true when you enter CREATE PROCEDURE etc.

    BizTalk installation does nothing to SQL Server, but make BizTalk Configuration. When configure us BizTalk on any SQL Server (same or different), it creates the required databases and SQL Server works on this server.

    Here is a series of articles on installing and configuring BizTalk Server: http://sandroaspbiztalkblog.wordpress.com/2013/05/16/biztalk-2013-installation-and-configuration-install-and-configure-biztalk-server-2013-part-9/

    Thank you!

  • Table error ' can not analyze the SQL query!

    Hi all

    I created a view on my database called VIEW_MEMBER_PARTIC_PROJECTS

    If I run a query showing the results of the view:

    SELECT * FROM VIEW_MEMBER_PARTIC_PROJECTS

    I get the following data

    ProjectsParticipants
    131 S
    241
    319
    43
    53
    61
    72

    Now, I wanted to represent this diagram in the APEX so I created a graphic region and entered the Source query generator and the manufacturer produces the following code

    Select null, label projects, value1 Participant link

    of "SCHEMANAME." "" VIEW_MEMBER_PARTIC_PROJECTS ".

    With this code, I get an error:

    Cannot parse the SQL query!

    Select the link null, label projects, value1 "SCHEMANAME Participant." "" VIEW_MEMBER_PARTIC_PROJECTS ".

    Some queries can be run when you run your application, if your query is syntactically correct, you can save your query without validation (see options below the source of the query).

    The code looks OK, but I do not see to save options as the error code is mentioned.

    No one knows how to fix this?

    Thank you

    I finally found the problem.

    I looked at the code for the view and changed the start of:

    CREATE OR REPLACE FORCE EDITIONABLE VIEW "SCHEMANAME." "" VIEW_MEMBER_PARTIC_PROJECTS "("Participant","Projects")

    AS

    TO

    CREATE OR REPLACE VIEW "SCHEMANAME." "" VIEW_REPEAT_PARATIC ".

    AS

    And that seemed to fix it. I'm not entirely sure why though.

    The view was created using the quoted identifiers for column names. This makes them sensitive and means that they must always be referenced using double quotes. In the absence of quotation marks, Oracle is not case insensitive and automatically converts all uppercase identifiers. The application of graph:

    Select the link null, label projects, value1 "SCHEMANAME Participant." "" VIEW_MEMBER_PARTIC_PROJECTS ".

    has therefore been interpreted by Oracle:

    SELECT THE LINK NULL, LABEL, VALUE1 "SCHEMANAME PARTICIPANT PROJECTS." "" VIEW_MEMBER_PARTIC_PROJECTS ".

    and PROJECTS and PARTICIPANT columns were not recognized because the columns defined for the view have been 'Participant' and 'projects '. The graphic request should have been:

    Select the link null, the label of "Projects", "Participant" value1 "SCHEMANAME." "" VIEW_MEMBER_PARTIC_PROJECTS ".

    As you have now discovered, quoted identifiers are a source of nothing but obscure bugs and should never be used for database objects. He also pointed out the reason why you should always use a standardized, form tiny, coding style as it is faster to type, easy to read and less prone to errors.

  • Bug in the SQL Developer report where?

    Where can I report a bug in the SQL Developer? It is possible at all?

    I use Ubuntu 14.04 (32 or 64 bit) with Oracle VM 1.7.55 and get a SIGSEGV vm.

    Thank you

    If you have database support through MyOracleSupport, you can report a bug there.

    If this isn't the case, then this is the place, although nothing is guaranteed.

  • Errors in the charge installing vcenter Server 5.5 with respect to the SQL database

    I do a new install of vCenter Server 5.5 on a new Windows 2008 R2 server. The database for this facility is pointing at a 32-bit Windows 2003 SP2 server. I installed SQL Native Client 10.0 on server vCenter Server 64-bit, and then I could make my DSN ODBC 64-bit connection. The vCenter Server install could very well recognize it, but after the installation got going he wrong on the database with the following error:

    Error 25003.Setup cannot create vCenter Server repository. The main reasons for this failure are:

    -The database is installed using insensitive case.

    -The database is remote and the client database version does not match the database version. If this problem continues to persist, see KB 1003960 for further assistance.

    Well, I know that the version of the client and the version of database do not match. SQL native client on the sql server is 9.00.5000.00 and the version on the server vCenter Server is 10.50.1600.1.

    I know that this version of vCenter is compatible with an installation of 32-bit sql server 2005 on a 32-bit server, 2003.

    I am not familiar too if they want upgrade me sql native client on the sql server, but is not compatible with the version of sql server on this server and there are several database for other applications on this server, so I don't want to jump into something like that.

    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you.

    I install the native client SQL 2005 and give a shot.

  • How to get line numbers to display on the SQL worksheet?

    Dear Forum,

    I learn the SQL Developer.  I use it in my work and school.  At school, when I enter a query in the SQL worksheet, line numbers show in a column to the left of the editing area.  In my work, no line number.  I'm working on a fairly long query at my work, and the line numbers would be useful.

    I looked at tools / preferences / settings for the Code Editor, but do not find a setting for line numbers.  I looked at the other tabs in preferences and found nothing that looked useful.

    I have looked at all of the choices on the display list, but can't find anything on line numbers.

    Am I missing something obvious?  Line numbers is also available?  If so, how?

    I looked at various hits "line number" in this forum, but I've not found anything exactly the point.

    PS Oracle 11g, SQL Developer 3.0.04, Linux x 86-64 (don't have version)
