Spacing between the div tags in unwanted IE

I am in the early stages of laying on a website in CSS and I've encountered a problem. I have a "header" div and a "nav" div directly stacked on each other. When I test in firefox, everything looks fine but in IE there is a space that I can not do disappear for the life of me.

Here are links to the page and the CSS file:

Help is greatly appreciated! Thank you

Add this to your style sheet-

#header img {display: block ;}}

  • spaces between the div tags

    I posted a few weeks on how to Center my site (that I had learned to design using all AP divs). I have redesigned my site now. Everything looks great in Firefox and Safari; but I'm having a problem with spaces between the div tags in Solution Explorer.

  • spacing between the divs

    I can't space the divs on my page.  I wish I had a stack of some div on top of the other and in dreamweaver they look good but in the browser, it seems that the browser are not properly with margins and padding... any suggestions?

    You're missing the closing css curly bracket after the style below:

    .menudiv {     border-top-width: thin;     border-right-width: thin;     border-bottom-width: thin;     border-left-width: thin;     border-top-style: none;     border-bottom-style: solid;     border-top-color: #009900;     border-bottom-color: #009900;

    Without it the css flow is corrupt.

  • How to get rid of the space between the div tags in Safari?

    I hate this rule since it removes the default margins of everything.  But you're definitely on the right track.  What is happening is that the margins by default of the first and the last tag in the DIV does NOT collapse as it should and is pushing out.  You can fix this in a number of ways, including the way you suggested.  Another way would be to complete some padding the divs, or a border for the divs, or just set the margins on these specific tags (those in the divs) to zero.  For example, try this code with and without the style sheet embedded in Safari-

  • gap between the div tags in firefox

    Hello.

    I'm working on a website and I've tested in IE 7 and Firefox v2.

    In IE, it seems as planned, but in Firefox, there is a gap between customer menu (with green-yellow background) and the top Menu (at the top of the Green lime) bit. The client in the css menu is #user_title. The top menu is #topmenu

    Similarly, at the bottom, between the end of the content and the footer, there is white space.

    I don't know too why it makes its appearance. Here are links to the screenshots of each (sorry I don't have a download of the live site). Also, I have attached my CSS file for this post.

    In your CSS rule for '#user_title h1' change this

    margin-left: 10px;

    for this

    margin: 0 10px;

    The variance is due to the top margin of the h1 by default. Because of a characteristic
    called collapse of the margins that it was coming out of the div. of #user_title
    The new statement takes care of this and sets the top and bottom
    margin to zero.

    BTW: The result in FF was correct, IE wrong (as usual).

  • In designer Mode, it is Possible to the spacing between the lines of control?  How?

    Hello

    Is there another way to control the spacing between the content PUSHING words to the next line with SPACE?

    http://www.collegestudentvoice.com/

    Even when I opened UNTITLED' page without my customized page layouts there is a space between line in own page why I write sentences.

    see you soon,

    Dreamweaver101.1

    (1) never trust design mode - only view that counts is rendered in a web browser.

    (2) padding using CSS, margins and the row height to control spacing. Use not (nonbreaking space) or
    General formatting tags!

    (3) Dreamweaver is not a word processor. It is futile to try to use it as such.

    (4) give up the idea that you can control all aspects of the presentation of your document. You can not. Users viewing your page will use different settings, have different fonts and do different things beyond what you expect always. So instead of "force" users to view the document the way that you think it should be considered, use the flexibility of HTML documents to allow the user to view your content in a way that suits them best.

    As always, to learn the language (HTML and CSS) to get the best results on the environment (web pages). I hope this helps.

  • The spacing between the contacts in the contact list and the current list.

    Hello

    My Skype updated this morning and it looks that the spacing between the contacts has been increased and as the spacing between the history of cats in the chat window.

    It of wasting a lot of space and removes the ability to quickly view who is online. You now have to scroll, even when Skype is maximized to quickly view the contacts and history of cats.

    Hoping so it is a way to reduce the spacing?

    Thank you.

  • Disorder by selecting the Div tags

    Hello

    Im trying to create a website portfolio for me but I'm having trouble with the selection of some div tags, I added to my page.

    As you can see here the top right divtag is selected/clicked on illustrated by give it a blue box around it. It allows me to add a rollover image to which is what I try to do with home' 'info' and 'contact' buttons shown above right. However when I click on or around the div tags that hold these buttons I can't "select" them so that the blue box appears around the edge and therefore impossible to add the rollover image.

    I normally work in the design window that I've not been taught in the coding

    You will learn about code regardless if you make the effort. Start with these links:

    DW assumes that you have knowledge of HTML & CSS code.

    If you cannot or will not work with the code, you use the wrong tool.

    In RoboHelp you map to a Word template or simply by selecting a CSS?

    I assume that you are by selecting a CSS and that the solution might be to map to a Word template, where you can map the. Note the style.

    Mapping to take word longer to set up the first time, but once done, you may be easier to get the desired results.

  • Main Navigation menu: need a uniform spacing between the names of home page

    I am new to Adobe Muse and design my own Web site. I watched the tutorials and have implemented the master page, the main pages and subpages. In the master page, then I added navigation to the top of the menu on the page (in the header) using the Widgets Library > menus > Horizontal, then got all the fonts, drop downs etc as I wanted. The question I have, is that, in the main navigation menu, I have hand some page names that are long (projects) and others who are short (home) and want to have a uniform spacing between home page names. I need to be able to adjust the blocks of text individually and we have tried clicking on the text block > menu Options and click on "Edit all" box, but it always adjusts the width of ALL menu text blocks - not adjusts the width of the individual blocks of text without solving all. I have the size of the element the unique value "size"; When I chage it to a uniform spacing, it no longer gives justify me the choice of the left hand for the menu text, and I need the text left justified menu. Is there an easy fix for this? Thank you.

    Double click several times until the label for a menu item is selected. Go to the control panel of spacing. Click on the channel icon to unlock the four values (so they can be changed independently). Increase the value of fill right.

    If you make a menu with uniform spacing, you can get the Visual effect you're looking for with left text aligned and equal to the spacing between the text in the menu items.
