Spacing of lines and text.

The line in ID 5.5 spacing feature is completely random. Will not change the spacing between text and when he jumps randomly.

I tried the trashing of the preferences etc.

The symptoms you describe are usually associated to have snap to grid turned on.

Spacing between lines is controlled by the 'leader '. If you do not set something else, the 'automatic' deafult, spacing is 120% of the size, as in Word, but you can set any fixed amaount you like, or you can change the percentage of 'Auto' in the settings of Justificatin for paragraph or the paragraph style. Extra space between paragraphs is added correctly by adding "Space before" or "Space after" to a paragraph, not pressing Enter to make a blank line and by adjusting the size of this line.

  • Spacing of lines of text box

    Hiya,

In my last published project, there is extra line spaces in the text boxes. For example, the paragraph should look like this:

Today I went to the market and bought
    some onions, celery and carrots.

but its that looks like this:

Today I went to the market and bought

    some onions, celery and carrots.

It's only a few slides throughout the project. Would appreciate any ideas on how to fix or why it could be produced.

    Thank you!
    Alex

    Thanks Rick,

I checked out the spacing, but it wasn't the issue - I'm not sure 100% but I think sometimes when you copy and past the text in the box. The formatting should come with it and you can't get rid of it. I managed to fix retype in a new box all together.

    Thank you tho.

  • Lines and text, display of line and incorrect filling

I started having this problem in the last few months. It becomes impossible to select and change the fill and stroke of multiple objects. They show a background and outline in the appearance Panel, but display another. This is particularly noticeable in the text. I need to change with the text tool to put in place the right color - hard if there are many. You can see that the type has a slight black halo around it. It's the same with vector lines - it's almost as if there are two appearances on an object, but as you can see - the appearances Panel is only show the black fill. It seems to happen randomly - I can't work a way to replicate it well it seems to happen more often in objects that are grouped or have been grouped. Sometimes separate will solve the problem.

I hope maybe I accidentally selected / deselected the option I'm not aware of that. Everyone knows the same problem?

I work in Illustrator CC 2015.3 on a MacBook Pro 2014.

Actually, you're right! Your type has TWO appearances. A fill has been used for the selected characters. The other aspect has been applied to select items.

If you select a bunch of objects of type at a time, your high screenshot of the page, you will see that black has been applied. But if you select the characters themselves with your Type tool, they are full of Cyan.

What is really confusing, it's that your character color fill is before the filling of these objects of the selected type.

If you want to select a bunch of objects of Type at a time and apply a fill color to all, follow these steps:

    1. Select the type of the tool Selection (V)
    2. In the appearance Panel, click the list of characters .
    3. In the swatches Panel, click on 'None' for the fill color
    4. In the appearance Panel, click the Type list at the top, look under the Options menu and choose new filling.
    5. Change the fill color to a Swatch color that you want in the appearance Panel

You can also do the following:

    1. Fill a rectangle with Cyan
    2. Create a graphic Style
    3. Apply this graphic Style for all your objects of Type at a time.
  • Can help you with the resizing of the lines and text fields?

Acrobat X Pro - I lost the feature on my text fields and lines to resize slice and dragging a box in small increments.  Everything is now resize to the size of the original box or the underscore.  Features to make my diagonal lines (to make an 'X') also lost.

Is there a way to bring my function to move and resize in small amounts instead of the size of the original box or a button that I disabled?

Maybe (?) Turn off align it on the grid.

    Be well...

  • objects (lines) and text boxes are not able to make larger or smaller

first: for no reason at all, all my text boxes are now implemented in the text block.  I don't know how that lit.  When I go to 'type '.

and try to choose "threaded text" it won't allow me to select - it is not highlighted.  So I have no idea

How to disable this option.  Now, I can't stretch my text boxes depending on what is in them - IE: make bigger or smaller, that is to say: there's only two boxes hanging out - one on each side of the text box and they allow me to drag to enlarge the box - only to move the whole box (before there were 4 boxes to manipulate the size of the text box - a on every corner - now, there only two) and this seems to apply

in many other objects now.  When I draw a line, I have to make sure that the line is the exact right size because once I have draw - it will not allow me to make it larger or smaller - it only allows me to move it to a different location - I don't understand what's going on

  • Change the size of the font, lines and text editing

    Hello

Am new suite adobe, but with some problems to adapt very well.

Could someone help me please with a manual step by step how I can change the size of the font, line thickness and editing text in adobe illustrator.

    Your help is quite appresiated.

    Paul,

Some tips that can be difficult to find through the help:

    Type:

When you want to change the overall size of the Type (text), make sure you only select the integer object; You can do it with the selection tool (Direct) (one of the arrows).

When you want to change the size of the specific characters/parties of Type, make sure that you select (only) the relevant part with the text tool (T).

If you do the opposite, you'll regret.

    Weight of the race:

That's what you call in the op line weight.  It's in the stroke palette/Panel.

    Both:

You can use the menu drop-down and select the values or insert; both have pt for points as a default value, but you can use other units by adding their abbreviation (mm for mm, cm, cm, inches, px for pixel (which is basically the same as pt), and you don't want to know about picas.)

If you need or want to, you can also change the units generally, edit > Preferences > units & Undo; any change persists until changed again, through documents.

  • Cannot align or align lines and text on the grid

    Captivate 7

I work with this since nearly two hours and can't seem to align or to align the work of the grid. I want to drag and drop the words in the order: ed's weird and ugly.

But lines I've done will remain not straight horizontally, and I can't seem to equalize the distance between words. I know how to do easy-peasy in Mac Keynote, but may not know how to get it here in Captivate. Once more, Miss me something obvious. Some advice for me?

    Screen Shot 2013-09-26 at 9.38.36 PM.png

To draw a straight line, hold down the SHIFT key. This is going to go right for you.

To get the same distance between them, select them and click on change, Align, distribute horizontally. You can also align the edges as well to make sure they are straight.

  • Spacing and text Styles - paragraph are possible?

First of all, can I change spacing of the paragraphs in Captivate 8? No line spacing, but the spacing of paragraphs. For example, 6 pt space after a paragraph as you can do in MS-Word.

Second, 8 Captivate allows me to define text styles? I know I can set some styles for all objects such as the legends, but if I can define a style (for example MyTitle = Verdana 18pt "BOLD" or create 11pt Verdana plain = or MyEmphasis = 11pt Verdana italic red) and then apply to a text that I select an object of legend?

Answer is doubly negative. Captivate is not as InDesign, its primary goal is e-Learning, to not publish or processing.

There is no spacing of paragraphs, and I regret as much as you, only leading (line spacing).

There are object styles only, no text style. Use a different (legend or form) text for the title, emphasis etc container and an appropriate object style. You can add attributes to individual words ("BOLD", false fat...) and the color as well. But that's all.

  • Objects in line and line spacing

    Hello

I add objects embedded in a block of text. The object is taler than the lines in the paragraph, and overlaps the text.

Is it possible to adjust the line spacing to the object? Or, what is the general ptractice with embedded objects and line spacing?

    Paolo

The simplest thing is to set the line spacing to Auto...

Bill of lading: Auto to InDesing check the highest (or, in this case, object inline) by line and character to adjust spacing automatically. You can change the ratio size/leader of point in the paragraph Panel, under Justification (that's the percentage of 'Leader Auto').

  • Just updated to Sierra and updated Pages at the same time. Now when I try to select a line of text I find myself with an insertion point where I stopped by selecting

Today, I updated for Sierra and updated to the latest version of the Pages. Now I find that I am more able to select a line of text. When I try to do, I find myself with an insertion point where I stopped by selecting, but nothing is selected. This is a bug in the new version of pages or get my wrong settings?

You use a Wacom tablet by chance?

Solution: Press the shift key, just before stop selection. And Yes, that sounds like trouble in the Sierra.

  • Why print preview and print lose lines of text from the image to the screen in the browser

When I bring up (for example) a magazine article in my browser and you want to print it for future reference, print preview and printed image 'lost' lines of text between pages compared to the original image in the browser. For example: visit this link: http://www.pcauthority.com.au/Feature/408318, how-to-make-windows-admin-easy-with-powershell.aspx?eid=2 & edate = 20150828 & utm_source = 20150828 & utm_medium = newsletter & utm_campaign = weekly_newsletter & nl = weekly and select 'Print' from the menu. Print preview that appears - poster in portrait mode or landscape - loses one or two lines of text for the print version wraps useless. Where the missing text? pagination is not identical, and Firefox seems unable to handle it.

I use a HP desktop with Intel i7 CPU 8 GB of RAM and Win 7 Pro SP1. Firefox is V40.0.3

I do not see "imposed by the system of page breaks" encoded in this Web page. It would be difficult for an author of a Web page with an international audience.

You use A4 paper, but what about those of us using letter-size paper? Page breaks may screw up page print to LETTER, from a Web site to THE like this.
And what about the 'zoom' different levels? For printing which is called scale preview of Firefox and Page Setup print.
I put systematically "modest" when printing to save paper, to keep the last page to only a few lines, or when the font size in print preview is too great (IMO) for printing on paper. And the size of police appeared to have worsened as monitor resolutions have gotten larger over the years.

The only time wherever I lost lines of text between printed pages was when I was "pushing the limits" with the paper up and down / page margins. IOW, too small header / footer trying to get on each page as possible. By default, Firefox a. 5 "margins (left and right) with. 5 "header / footer (top and bottom margins) = letter-size paper. With 'A' type of paper using metric would be tantamount to the margins of 12.7 mm on all four sides. The /metric of inches "toggle" is with the size of the paper, the user has selected.

Check the Page > margins & header / footer to see if you have the parameters of ~ 12mm or it they are smaller.

  • InCopy CS4: The spacing between the "title" and "text".

    Hello everyone,

I want to know if it is possible to add a space after writing a title, I mean after writing the title at the top of the page, when I click on 'ENTER' I want the text are far from the title.

    Leading.jpg

I have already created my stile of character costum "Title" and "Text", so if this is the way to make it more wostum, I want to add this use case in my character style "Title".

    Thank you

First of all, your character for 'Title' style will not work correctly, you must create a title paragraph style. In the paragraph style options, you'll find controls for the spacing before and after the space.  Adding a measure in space after you give what you want. Character style controls include no space before and after. Character styles should only be created and applied when you want one or * some * of the characters to look different from the rest of the text in a paragraph. If you want to * all * the text to look a certain way, create a paragraph for text style-, they include the two paragraph * and * controls formatting of characters.

Second, a person placing / will import your InCopy file in an InDesign layout? If so, you should probably ask the designer about the settings and style names. In fact, you can import all paragraph and character styles in an InDesign file in a stand-alone InCopy file. In this way, you can apply the real, final of styles to your text in InCopy (the styles that the designer will apply in InDesign) to get a good idea of how it will look.
