  If the system or Mode restore safe work not and you do not have a Microsoft Vista DVD, make a repair disc to do a Startup Repair:

  Download the ISO on the link provided and make a record of repair time it starts.

  Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.

  At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu.

  When you have changed that, insert the Bootable disk you did in the drive and reboot.

Research on the problem, I disabled services of Toshiba and eventually found the culprit: hwsetup.exe. Manual execution crashed my computer and it still doesn't work. However, after you install a new version of it, it seems that FN is working fine now. Hwsetup running always breaks the computer well.
  Any ideas what may cause this? The computer is new, so I don't see what I could have done to cause this situation myself.

  Yesterday, I noticed that when my 6 month old Acer W510 is docked, completely empty the Tablet battery and dock.

Whenever I click on restart the program that updates the Windows bar and I can use the start menu and the desktop again.   It looks like something very funky happening with your Internet Explorer program.  It looks much like malware to me, but if you ran several scans with different products, then that may not be the case.  You can try several above - but you probably won't find anything (but you might--sometimes a virus is very sneaky and that one or two anti-malware programs are able to deal with them).
