special characters hurt speaking of bridge in the loaded script

Why is it so what can I do?

I use several scripts in Illustrator. Some of them that I use in this way:

http://www.davidebarranca.com/2012/11/ScriptUI-BridgeTalk-persistent-window-examples/

Now, I tried to built in two other scripts in the palette. In these scripts, it is necessary to use special characters in variables. Autonomous, these scripts are correct work.

Here's a simple example:

// exampleScript.jsx
var a = '\u201d'+" example "+'\u201d';
alert(a)

I get this (correct) result:

script_standalone.png

But when I call this example script with bridge talk:

var scriptToLoad = new File(pathToScript + "/exampleScript.jsx");
var win = new Window('palette', 'own palette');
var btnSelect = win.add('button', undefined, 'example');
btnSelect.onClick = function()
{scriptToLoad.open("r"); var bt = new BridgeTalk;
bt.target = "illustrator"; var script = scriptToLoad.read();
scriptToLoad.close(); bt.body = script; bt.send();}
win.center();
win.show();

Here is the same script and a wrong result:

scriptBridgeTalk.png

What can I do to fix this?

Hmm... Davide said that we cannot use the slash reverse (\) with BridgeTalk in the link you provided...

.. . Check this thread to see if you can't get something to work

    Is it possible for me to run the script when the button is pressed and not to go to the new page and also reload the page that my comment has been submitted the?

    Sure. Just put the script located on the next page on the first page. Then, you must present the form page itself. If you don't want to reload the page, you will need to use ajax.

    Here is the difference:

    • Standard report column: this is used when your column in the SQL query returns the HTML markup. For example the query SQL with APEX_ITEM API columns or columns where you have mixed data in the column with the markup. In short, APEX rendering engine treats the column as HTML markup and analysis accordingly to display the required HTML element.
    • Display text (escape special characters): this type analysis the column data in the form of data stored in the database (no HTML). During analysis if the data contains special characters then it escapes and displays the data.

    Yes, you can mix the manual in the form of built on APEX_ITEM with normal standard report (display text) columns.

    I hope this helps!

    Kind regards

    You can use the glyphs Panel.

    Hello. Can he the word pdf conversion to retain the original character of the special characters of the algorithm? the formulas have special mathematical symbols. Conversion them kept?

    The equations are a problem. If the equation is text, you can be lucky if you have the fonts on your system. Most of the time I have try, the fonts in the equation are garbage. Expect to have to retype the equations and some special characters. Much also depends on the existence of the fonts on your system. Just in my experience, the equations are almost impossible to convert.

  • The application process - special characters

    I have an application process (ODP) that I use to fill elements in a page with. I followed the examples of Denis Kubrik e.a. OTN. The problem, in that I ran given with this symbol. I know that there is a special characters that must be escaped in the XML documents. I used the function replace in the SQL query to change '&' in ' & amp;'. However, the process still seems to die. I use the feature of documented test here.

    When I run the ODP that does not return the ampersand, all right, I see the XML document. When I retrieve a line with the ampersand, I see:

    "Cannot view XML input using XSL style sheet. Fix the error and then click the Refresh button, or try again later.

    The operation completed successfully. Error during processing of the resources ' http://test:7734 / pls/apex/f? p = 128:0:8491... »

    When I run the SQL in SQL Developer using output I see a valid XML document.

    Someone saw this?

    Thank you!

    Probably because the first is interpreted while the second is not.

    To be honest, I don't know, but it worked for me.

    If it works, I prefer the CHR option.

    See you soon

  • Function to remove special characters in a column.

    Hi all

    In one of my column, we get special characters, as well as others. The data are extracted and loaded through Informatica. We are not face any problem while loading into the target, but when we try to extract these data through the report, it fails with the error:

    ORA-29275: partial multibyte character sets

    When we check this column, we find the special characters. Initially, we have implemented logic with the CHR to replace these NULL values. But every time we get different values. To make the permanent solution, we decided to remove all characters except available on Board of the key.

    Now, to this end, I need to write a function in Oracle's PL/SQL. I do not know more easy way from there to achieve. If I go with the CHR() function, I have to write for all these characters, which I think is not the right solution.

    Enjoy, if someone can help me identify the function or the way to get there.

    Thanks in advance.

    It depends on your keyboard.

    All that is on the keyboard you, something similar to this shoud work:

    REGEXP_REPLACE (string_column

    , '[^]0-9A-Za-z~!@#$%^&*()_+`={}| [\:";'' <>?,./-]'

    )

    This will return a copy of string_column, but with all the characters that are not not in the 2nd deleted argument.

    [Inside the brackets, ']' must come first (immediately after the ' ^') and '-' must come last.

  • Special characters using Acrobat PRO from DC

    Where is the table of special characters to?

    Hello

    You want to use special with Acrobat Pro DC on PC or Mac?

    I will suggest you to use the application in the table of characters on a PC. There is also an equivalent application for Mac: Character Palette. Access you it via editing > special characters, or check its box in the menu Preferences/international/input system. You can use the keyboard Viewer (check its box in the menu Preferences/international/input system) to see which key does what.

    Let me know if it helps.

  • Show special characters & set presentation options

    Hello

    I'm new in InDesign scripting and I need help.

    I'm trying to set the display options custom during the execution of Peter Kahrels script "BatchConvert.

    What I want to do:

    • set the "Normal" display mode
    • showing page 1
    • adjust the page to the window
    • display special characters
    • Save the file

    I failed with the use of "menuActions".

    When you use "menuActions" I can show/hide special characters, but I can't control the State.

    Maybe can someone tell me a solution?

    Thank you.

    Anything you want can be script directly, without the use of menuActions, although these things are not always simple:

    var doc = app.activeDocument;

    doc.layoutWindows [0] .screenMode = ScreenModeOptions.previewOff;

    doc.layoutWindows [0] .activePage = doc.pages [0];

    app.layoutWindows [0] return (ZoomOptions.FIT_PAGE);

    doc.textPreferences.showInvisibles = true;

    doc. Close (SaveOptions.yes);

    If you run this script in the batch converter, there is no need to save your documents in the script that you call: just click 'save the closing documents. And you zip documents so that you have a safe copy of them.

  • Find special characters in a string

    Hi all, I am using Oracle 10 g.

    I have a column name with special characters. How can I replace the special characters in the column with space and no space based on the special character. Please see the example below. can I use REGEXP_REPLACE?

    create table
    create table sample_test (
      Name    VARCHAR2(20 BYTE))
    Insert a table
     insert into sample_test values ('O''NEIL')
         insert into sample_test values ('B.E.VICTOR')
          insert into sample_test values ('WILLIAM,L')
           insert into sample_test values ('MARY-ANNE')
               insert into sample_test values ('VON_ANCKEN')
                insert into sample_test values ('BROWN;L')
    I would like the following output

    Special Character Name Expected Name Remarks

    Single Quotes O'NEIL ONEIL Remove quotes and no space
    Dot B.E.VICTOR B E VICTOR Replace with space
    Comma WILLIAM,L WILLIAM L Replace with space
    Hyphen MARY-ANNE MARY ANNE Replace with space
    Underscore VON_ANCKEN VON ANCKEN Replace with space
    Semi Colon BROWN;L BROWN L Replace with space
    Please notify.

    Thank you
    Bob

    A simple solution without the use of regexp:

    -- Test Data
    with sample_test as
    (
    select 'O''NEIL' name from dual union all
    select 'B.E.VICTOR' name from dual union all
    select'WILLIAM,L' name from dual union all
    select'MARY-ANNE' name from dual union all
    select'VON_ANCKEN' name from dual union all
    select'BROWN;L' name from dual
    )
    -- Query:
    select name old_name,
           translate(replace(name,'''',''),'.,-_;','     ') new_name
    from sample_test;

    Explanation:

    REPLACE deletes the quote
    TRANSLATE replaces point, comma, dash, semicolon and underscore

  • Regexp: Find consecutive special characters

    Hello

    I need to check the names according to the strict rules and most of them that I could solve by using regular expressions. Now there's one that I can't solve with a single expression:

    "Several identical characters must not be consecutive.

    Special characters would be considered as any character with an accent like e or aouss.
    This means that 'Global' is allowed because SSA are two different special characters but not "Kaamann".

    Concerning
    Marcus

    You can use a backreference make to match more than one occurrence of the same character...

    with t as (
    select 'Käßmann' as x from dual union all
    select 'Käämann' as x from dual
    )
    select x from t where regexp_like(x,'([äöüßé])\1')
    ;

    .. .assuming you have a complete list of special characters that you can specify in the function regexp_like.

    Kind regards
