Specifications of the Intel Pentium processors

The specifications include: processor Intel® Pentium® 4 or AMD Athlon® 64. Does anyone know if this means that other Intel processors as: 2nd generation Intel® Core™ i3 processor, 3rd generation Intel® Core™ i5 Processors, etc. are qualified? that is, they are faster than the Pentium - and / or are they fine for running CS or should it actually be a "Pentium"? Thank you!

On behalf of Adobe...

All Intel processors that are more recent than the Pentium 4 processors (including all the Core and Xeon processors) are compatible where Pentium 4 is specified as the minimum requirement.

Ok?

    Hello
I have a Compaq Presario CQ57 Notebook PC with Intel Pentium CPU B950 @ 2.10 and 4 GB of RAM for 32-bit x 64 operating system, I find on the internet another processor Intel Core (TM) i5 - 2430 M 3 M, up to 3.00 GHz, I want to know if I can buy this for my Compaq Presario CQ57 I5? If so, it can work well?

    Sorry no.

    Here is the Manual:

See Page 19. Intel Core (for example an i5) and Intel Pentium (you have now) processors use a different motherboard. So if you bought the i5 he would fit into the socket but the laptop would not PUBLISH.

    Hello world.
I would like to upgrade processor Dual Core E6300 to Q6700 (quad) in my Dell Dimension 9200.
I saw somewhere on this forum that people/use a processor Q6700 in Dimension 9200.

My question is: is it possible to use Q6700 with:

    DIMENSION 9200

On Intel site should be noted that P965/G965 chipset are intended for Core 2 Duo.  Intel Core 2 QUAD (Q6600/Q6700) is not on the list.

Acer does not show on the T4300 CPU upgrade. I don't think that the QX9300 will work just because I saw others trying to upgrade a T a q and it never worked.

If you can find a seller that it will have to come back if it doesn't work, give it a try.

I would probably try the T9500 or 9600 T if I was going to upgrade this laptop. T4400 to T9600 worked for me on a Dell computer.

  • Is there anyway to install Windows XP Professional on a Toshiba Satellite L755-S5353 if it has an incompatible processor targeted by Intel Pentium?

My company has a large number of computers running Windows 7 Ultimate and we want to install Windows XP Professional on my laptop which has an Intel Pentium processor and I can't go past the error screen when I boot on the Setup CD. If someone could help me, it would be much appreciated and useful.

    Thank you.

Only Windows 7 drivers are available on the Toshiba support

  • Can I update my Intel Pentium Quad Core N3700 for Core i5 processor?

My laptop model is ES1-431. Could not upgrade the Intel Pentium Quacore for Core i5 processor N3700? Or i7 maybe?

I need to use it for photoshop and adobe illustrator (of work) so a better processor is really necessary.

I know that if I upgrade the processor, I would need also to upgrade the RAM to be compatible with the processor, right? But I don't know which ones who should I upgrade (perhaps fan included?), so that it would go smoothly. Can you recommend and advise on what I should buy to make this possible, please?

Or photoshop and adobe illustrator will run smoothly without upgrading the processor? I'll upgrade just RAM & SSD? And video card too?

    Data sheet:

    Intel HD Graphics

    2 GB memory DDR3 L

    500 GB HARD drive

    Tenant the N3700 corresponds to a FCBGA1170 socket (1170 pins). An i5-6400 is a FCLGA1151 (1151 pines). Can be a little difficult.

  • What is the best, pentium 3.2 GHz or Core 2 Duo

Hello. I want to play a game that requires a pentium 4 3.2 GHz or more powerful. I have an Intel (r) Core (TM) 2 Duo CPU T5550 1.83 GHz 1.83 GHz. Don't know much about computers and want to know I can play it until I open it. Thank you.

Please get/run CPU - Z and validate the exact model of your older Pentium processor

    http://www.CPUID.com/softwares/CPU-z.html

In general, the Core 2 Duo will be better than the old Pentium processors even to clock speeds really low.  Pass provides a list of very basic to show you the overall performance of different processors:

    http://www.cpubenchmark.NET/common_cpus.html

as you can see in the graph, pass mark means that even an Intel Core2 Duo T5500 1.66 GHz outperforms an Intel Pentium D @ 3.40 GHz.  It is radical enough that a Core 2 Duo is good; Unfortunately, you have to take into account the fact that Passmark is probably represents a certain part of multi-threaded performance results.   Many people do not get to use all the cores of their processors multi-threaded performance is not always indicative of performance in the real world.  A much more realistic (but harder to read) reference is provided by SPEC [1]:

    1. Goto http://www.spec.org/cgi-bin/osgresults?conf=cpu2006
    2. Change the drop-down list to the processor
    3. Type "Pentium D" in the text box of Matches
    4. Click on the button "run Simple extraction.
    5. Recording an average baseline CFP2006 results for your processor speed (assuming that you have and old Pentium D)
    6. Repeat 1-5 for Core 2

When I do that, I get a threaded Floating Point single rate of about 11 for a Pentium D @ 3.2 and 11 for a Core 2 Duo @ 1.86.  So, if I read the SPEC benchmarks (this may be difficult), the only threaded execution of a Pentium D @ 3.2 is about the same as a Core 2 Duo @ 1.86.  So I guess it's a draw one way or the other, but many games these days become multi-threaded, another factor may be the measure of CFP2006 rate which is (multi-threaded).   When I do that, I get a multithreaded Point rates covered with approximately 18.9 for a Pentium D @ 3.2 and 19.6 for a Core 2 Duo @ 1.86.  So the Core 2 duo wins by a small margin.

To make a long story short, I guess as a Pentium D @3.2 and Core 2 Duo @ 1.86 are substantially the same, but I guess your old Pentium is a Pentium d this could be a Pentium oldest as a single core Pentium or old hyper threaded Pentium (hack), so that the Core 2 Duo could give you gains of performance still more.  In addition, Core 2 Duo will expected to run more cold than the old Pentium so school if you're a serious games, you might want to consider to make a Core 2 Duo, just so you won't have to worry about your thermal alarm is going so.

Finally, you can get better answers post this kind of question to Tom's Hardware:

These guys really take benchmarking seriously! ...

[1] - for games, you often care about decimal floating results unless you have a graphics processor really killer/physical and that you only use your main processor for Artificial Intelligence.

I have goggled a bit and found that this laptop Satellite L30-105 was certainly equipped with the Intel Pentium Dual-Core CPU T2060 1.6 GHz.

I m similar L30 owner as a second notebook and at first start, I noticed that the Device Manager recognized the incorrect CPU.
I've simply removed the entry CPU since the Device Manager and rebooted again the Vista again recognized the CPU and advised the right CPU.

Budget is not really a problem, I don't want to lose this laptop because I liked its features 2 in 1.

Response PLZ! It's my first time handling HP products and I don't want it to end like this...

    Thank you!!

Yes, this was not a choice good processor if you want to do demanding tasks. You have the N3700 processor which is a low power (both in terms of calculation and electricity) designed for long battery life, without not demanding calculation.

    http://cpuboss.com/CPUs/Intel-Pentium-N3700-vs-Intel-Core-i3-5010U

It is as powerful as an i3, about 85-90%, which isn't really too bad considering how little juice it uses.

See p. 16 of the manual here, with 2 messages. The CPU is soldered to the Commission is not able to be upgraded separately, and the only processors available on this model are low power. And a motherboard would cost about as much as the laptop.

    Repair manuals

Believe it or not, the top of the page processor is the M3 Skylake which runs at 900 mhz, but is even more powerful than the N3700, but not a lot.

Purchase of a computer is not the brand. It's the material inside. If you decide to replace this one, please ask here or on a similar technology that is out there and its capabilities on-line forum. It was easier, but is now a bit complex.

The processor is to another laptop Toshiba Satellite M40X-250.

Can someone help me with this problem?

    Thank you very much.

    Ergu

Hmmm usually replacement of CPU upgrade is not possible.
In most cases, the don t match with the new CPU proprieties BIOS settings.
I think that computers portable satellite M40X-149 and 250 SatelliteM40X were equipped with the same motherboard and possibly it's the new Intel Pentium M 750 processor could be supported.

However, this is only a theory and my own experience there s always another story to put in practice.

I wonder not if your laptop would not boot after upgrading CPU or would be overheating due to a higher internal temperature.

So all you make are at your own risk.

    Good bye
