Spelling option

I use outlook express for probably 10 years now.

All of a sudden my spell checker does not work and my language settings

for my orthography (spelling)) are now set to French.

There is no other option on my arrow down and I have no

find out how this never changed.  This can be corrected?

It is an old but goodie.
 
 
You no longer have the correction spell checking capabilities in some languages in Outlook Express 6.0 after you install the Microsoft Office 2007 or Office 2010 system

Outlook Express cannot use the check spelling of MS Word in Office 2007 or newer. A free spell-checking the download is the easiest way to get around this.

    Spell check does not shine for me to click on it... and I can't click on spell check to work before sending e-mails.

    When you open a new message of Scripture the "Spelling" option on the toolbar of Composition will be grayed out. It's normal.
    When you start to compose a text, the "Spelling" option turns black and is operational.
    However, you may need to configure some options.

    A dictionary is activated?
    'Tools' > 'Addons' OR "Menu icon" > "Addons".
    Click on the last icon on the left side - hover tooltip says "dictionaries".
    You may need to activate a dictionary.

    Define options how to check spelling is to work:
    Tools > Options > Composition > Spelling tab
    OR
    Menu icon > Options > Options > Composition > Spelling tab
    Select the options:

    • Check spelling before sending
    • Activate spell check as you type
    • Select a language

    He is also a dictionaries more 'Download' link if necessary.
    Click OK

    I'm trying to implement Catalan as language check out extra - preference - the scale of the system.

    • I go to system preferences > keyboard > text and there in the spelling: drop-down menu choose "set up..." »
    • Catalan is not among the languages in the list, I know, but it says: "To add an additional spelling dictionary, copy dictionary (.aff and .dic) files to the spelling folder in your library folder."
    • I have enabled show hidden files in Finder and I copied the .aff and .dic files in the folder of the spelling in my library
    • Catalan appears in the regional and language options in the System Prefs, but not in establishing spelling options mentioned above.
    • I found some forum discussions quite old, looking for "To add an additional spelling dictionary, copy dictionary (.aff and .dic) files to the spelling folder in your library folder." (including the quotation marks) - if the comment in the System Preferences window is old and all simply not true more?
    • I have:
      • OS X El Capitan, 10.11.6 (15G 31)
      • MacBook Pro (15 inch, late 2008)

    Would appreciate any advice, thanks.

    Have you downloaded Catalan .aff and .dic files from the internet?  It is necessary, they do not come with OS X.

    This occurs if the default language is not defined in the spelling options. Follow these steps to resolve the problem:

    (a) start Windows Mail

    (b) from the main screen in Windows Mail, click the Tools menu and select Options...

    Note: In step (b), make sure that you select the Tools menu in the main window, not the new message window.

    (c) click on the spelling of the language drop-down menu tab, select English, even if it is already considered to be the default selection and click on apply.

    (d) click OK
