SQL Developer connection failure

I still have problems with connecting to oracle databases I asked this before without success. Problem is that I have 3 different houses installed (database client and developer 2 studios), unfortunately I need each other. Current location ORACLE_HOME is the latest installation (I hope in fact). When I'm trying to connect to the database using the SQL Developer, I have an error to not load the jdbc library. It's strange because any other application using the database (including SQL +) works very well.
When it is run the formula subject SQL Developer I found that oracle.home property points to the SQl Developer's installation directory but the jdbc.driver.home, jdbc.library orai18n.library all point to the first House that had been installed. That will probably cause problems.

My question is how to change the locations by default option/paths, where are found these entries? Or what can I do to force it to work?

You don't say what version you have, but I'm assuming because of the mistake of jdbc library 1.5.x.

SQLDev 1.5 comes with the 11g JDBC driver, and if you use the OCI driver then it must be able to find a 11g OCIJDBC. DLL. to avoid this problem install a client 11g or avoid using the OCI driver in sqldeveloper.

You can get sqldeveloper to ignore all other households by wrapping it in a batch file that does

set ORACLE_HOME = % CD
Start sqldeveloper.exe

It's too generic to mean anything. The application is hidden the real error message. You got when you did the tnsping and obtained "TNS-12535: TNS:operation has expired. Now THAT's an error.

This indicates a problem firewall and routing. You said earlier you could ping the server, but now we see tnsping fails. Two different protocols of usage, so that both the successful ping turns out a valid physical path, it guarantees not that all traffic will pass. What happens with

    Thank you.

    Hello

Not sure if you are running two auditors (one for 8i to 10g) on this server. When I had problems to connect to 10g XE and 11g running on the same server, each with its own listening port, I've read that the deactivation of the listener to 10 g and update of 11 g listener.ora and tnsnames.ora with entries for 10 g solved all. Always use the earpiece for the most recent version of Oracle. Maybe you have no control over the listening port on the server configurations, but it's something to consider.

And here's a thread from another forum with reviews on how unique or several listener configurations may be preferred (and some information on how to do it):

  • [4.0] production SQL Developer crashes when you try to extend Java in the browser connection

    People,

I'm under production Developer SQL on Oracle Linux 5.8 and whenever I click on the link Java in browser connections with a SYS AS SYSDBA SQL Developer connection is suspended.

Do the same with the user SCOTT (no SYSDBA) works very well (although there is no Java objects).

  • How can I connect SQL developer for JavaDB?

I read that supports JDBC Oracle SQL Developer connection, I tried to connect to Embedded Java DB of the SOMME using the JDBC string as:

    JDBC:Derby:MyDatabase; create = true

and the error message... anyone have an idea to make this connection? also, where can I configure JDBC library?

    Thank you very much!

You are on the right track - the reason why your connection to the database Derby does not work, it's that you didn't say Developer SQL where is the JDBC library.

    Go to the Tools menu
    Select Preferences
In the browser, open the database node.
    Select "Third party JDBC drivers".
Press the button "add an entry".
You will see a file browser where you can locate the jar file containing your JDBC driver.
Select this option and press OK.

Caution - I'm sure that developer SQL has not been tested with all possible JDBC drivers. I know that some drivers on Windows, such as MS SQL Server need an additional step such as adding a DLL file. In other words, if you follow these steps, and it still does not work, search the Forum (which is where I found the answer for SQL Server) and ask again if needed.

  • Help for writing an extension for SQL Developer

    Hi all
I want to write an extension for SQL using JDeveloper and Oracle Extension SDK developer and I have a few questions.
    (1) is there some imports I need to sign up for the use of certain classes for SQL Developer?
    (2) how can I do a new item from the context menu in the area of connections in the left?
    (3) is there an example for this, because I have read a few posts of Sue and Kris Rice, but I figured out how to make the extensions only for JDeveloper.

    Thanks in advance!

SQL Developer Connection browser uses a different site from the JDeveloper Application browser id. The site id OK to use for a listener from context menu is "db_nav". If your listener statement would look like this:

              My.listener.Class

Note that a listener can be registered on several sites (if, for example, you wanted as your listener to trigger for publishers, you can use "db_nav; Editor"for the site id.

You can post questions on the development of SQL Developer extensions on the developer forum SQL: SQL Developer this forum is monitored by the staff of SQL Developer.

  • Creating and using a DBLINK of in SQL Developer

Hello, I use SQL Developer worm. * 2.1.1.64 *. I have no Oracle Client is installed. I have 2 instances of Oracle (Test1 and Test2) database on a server named TEST UNITTEST, Oracle Version * 10.2.0.4.0 *.

While in the Active window Sql Developer connected to Test1, want to select data from a table in Test2. Is this possible? If so, please advise on the procedure.

    Thank you very much!

    Hello

I have the TNSNAMES.ora on my local machine (i.e. my laptop)?

No Developer SQL (on your PC) needs not the tnsnames.ora to connect to the database. You can use Oracle SQL Developer without installing the Oracle Client.

You can check the tnsnames.ora on the server.

    ORA-12154

ORA-12154 can have several cause, such as a bad name of service. The link below can help you resolve this error:

    http://www.error-code.org.UK/view.asp?e=Oracle-ora-12154

To check the service name used by a database, you can execute the following statement (connected to the database with an administrator account - that is, sys, System):

    show parameter service

In the tnsnames.ora , you have something like this:

    TEST2 =
      (DESCRIPTION =
        (ADDRESS_LIST =
          (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = UNITTEST)(PORT = 1521))
        )
        (CONNECT_DATA =
          (SERVICE_NAME = )
        )
      )

The SERVICE_NAME must be that you obtained by querying the database as described above.

    Hope this helps.
    Best regards
    Jean Valentine

    http://www.Oracle.com/technetwork/articles/database/multitenant-part1-PDBs-2193987.html

What is a database of the container

So, what is the big advantage in this configuration, you may ask? Couldn't we have just created several ordinary vanilla instead of several PDB databases? Yes, we could have; but each of these 'plain vanilla' databases would have then his own load of instance (process and memory). PDB do not have an instance associated with them, eliminating this overload. Let's look at the installer with an example. Suppose you have a CBD (database container - the real database that hosts the other PDB files) called CONA, who has a calledPDB1 of the PDB. If you check the Oracle instance, you will see that there is one - that of the CBD. First, let's check the ORACLE_SID:

    [oracle@prosrv1 ~]$ echo $ORACLE_SID CONA

That's all. There is only a single SID; not one for each PDB. Then we will check the process, especially very important that known as 'pmon ":

See this last sentence above? See this line in the status of listening port you have posted?

    Service "Pdb1" has 1 instance (s).

Pdb1 has a 'service' - a SERVICE_NAME allows to connect to him and all other PDB files.

  • Unable to connect to host: SQL Developer in Virtualbox:linux:oracle

    Hi all

Hope this is the right place to ask this question - since his post installation problem.

I'm very happy because I just installed yesterday manually Oracle Linux 6.5 and Oracle 11 GR 2 on a Virtualbox VM. Ive put the point for a long time but either in the oracle of banks already installed Linux in DBA or home installation of Oracle on windows. But I decided to try something I've been curious for a long time which was to install oracle on linux running in a virtual machine, then usinfg the VM development tools host * developer sql etc...). IM glad that in only 2 days, I was able to make all the measurements required in virtualbox additions for sharedfolders, linux with x, prerequisites for instalation oracle, RPM and Richmond stuff, tune kernel parameters and installation when smoothly managed yesterday

Today, after the typical small things missing after starting the VM as:

    -lack of vars env; Oracle ADF for path;

-sqlplus / as sysdba returned instance inactive, so I started OK with SQL > startup

-also unlocked HR account and under linux has been able to connect to sqlplus h/h

Now I'm trying to achieve the 2 following things after you start the virtual machine linux/oracle again today:

    1. connect to vm host windows 7 oracle sql developer for my db oracle Linux.

2 business manager access to the browser in my host of windows 7. Yesterday, just after the installation of oracle finishing I could, just need to open port firewall linux 1158 and https://192.168.1.71:1158 / em Open ok. But today, after that it seems some process to start vm does not work... cause I can't get em either inside the virtual machine, nor my host locally.

Some info of linux from my installation:

  • Oracle SQL Developer/Oracle 11 g/Windows 7 - cannot connect 'sys as sysdba'

    Hello

I downloaded and installed SQL Developer 3.2.20.09, the latest version, separately from Oracle 11 g, because the version provided with Oracle 11 g did not work properly.

Now, I'm trying to connect SQL Developer 3.2 to my instance of 11g Oracle installed on Windows 7.

I can log in with the user name SYS AS SYSDBA using SQLPLUS, text bundled with Oracle 11g, with a password to null and without any problem.

However, when I try to connect to the same instance using the graphical tool based on Java, Oracle SQL Developer 3.2 I get this error:

Status: Failure-Test failed: ORA-01031: insufficient privileges

I already checked the computer management and I am already a member of administrators and 'ORA_DBA' groups.
I already checked tnsnames.ora, etc. and everything is indicated as it should.
I also checked my SID and it corresponds to what was named during the installation of Oracle 11 g.

Is someone can you please tell me why I can't connect using SYS AS SYSDBA?

  • SQL Developer: Failure-Test failed: IO error: got at least one by a CA read

SQL Developer: Failure-Test failed: IO error: Got minus one since a call to reading

    Hello

I'm sorry I know this is probably more frequently asked question, but I have no idea what I should get.
I looked at the error message above to see if I could find a solution, but unfortunately I do not have.

Right let me start with I'm a Total Noob... Well it terms of having to install Oracle 11 g myself.
In my University they welcomed a database and we assigned to a user & pass it's how I was using SQL Developer,.
but since I'm no longer a student at the University. I need to use the Oracle database.

So I downloaded Oracle 11 g Enterprise installed on my laptop that I don't use much.
    Name of the database: Christiane

It of the entire facility and seems to have succeeded, I went https://localhost:1158 / em (although not sure why em? what's the deal with that?) I thought that it would be Https://localhost:1158 / Christiane) anyway...
Connected with the user of the System .
Went to users and creates a named user: RUDUHR

Thinking Yes its not work... go my other laptop open SQL Developer.

Connection created with the following settings
    Name of con: RK
    User: RUDUHR
    Pass: TEST
    Con type: basic
    Role: by default
    Hostname: 192.168.0.8
    Port: 1158
    SID: Christiane

It does not work well, why is that?
192.168.0.8 is portable which oracle 11g installed and running.

I even tried to use SYSTEM user to connect, but same error
also tried to change the SID to em, it made no difference I get the error message status: failure Test failed: IO error: Got minus one since reading call

So are am clueless... LOL I only know how to create tables and stuff not how to set up a database.
and just to let you know that I transfer the port on me correct portable router.

It does not work well, why is that?
192.168.0.8 is portable which oracle 11g installed and running.

It's because you read the documentation.

1158 is the default port for Enterprise Manager
1521 is the default port for Sqlnet.
    Your port number is incorrect.

Of course, you can create your tables in EM too.

As by the Forums of the label of the post (first link when you arrive at this page) it is recommended that read the documentation before asking an another Doc issue yet.

  • Taking JDBC connection configuration supported the RAC in Oracle SQL Developer?

How can one Oracle SQL Developer be configured to successfully connect to a [Oracle RAC | http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oracle_RAC] environment, that is, not only the installation program always to connect to one of the individual nodes?

[http://programmersjournal.blogspot.com/2008/08/jdbc-connection-string-for-oracle-rac.html] is an example of a classic and taking version supported the equivalent CARS of a JDBC connection string. I've used a CAR of the same format connection string from within Java applications custom without problem. I thought that the same thing should be configurable in Oracle SQL Developer, by setting the 'Connection Type' drop-down menu on "Advanced", then enter the connection string JDBC RAC-aware as "Custom URL JDBC". However, after the test connection, the following error message is displayed at the bottom of the dialog box:

Status: Failure-Test failed: IO exception: NL Exception has been generated

There is no additional information shown on the display 'Page Logging'. With the help of Oracle SQL Developer 1.5.5.

    Thank you!

You could always give the current 2.1 ai2 test... continuous development may have fixed the issues in this area...

    Hope that helps,
    K.

For me, it worked only when I did this: I
1 - Download and open the JTDS folder.
    2 - ntlmauth.dll you will find in the folder x 86/SSO
    3 - JtdsXA.dll, you will find in the folder x 86/XA
    4 - put the ntlmauth.ddl and the JtdsXA.dll inside Sql Developer/sqldeveloper/bin
    5 copy the jtds - 1.2.4.jar to Sql Developer/sqldeveloper/lib

    It worked for me.
