I noticed this in Add/Remove programs and it has only been installed since March 17, 2011

SQL Server 2005 is a database management program. It would be normally installed alongside another application to manage its files.

Check what other programs have been installed on March 17. Type of reliability in the box start the Vista search and then press ENTER. Select reliability monitor from the list on the left. Select March 17 to see what has been installed.

  • SQL Server 2005 and alarms

    Hello

I have a problem occurring on 3 VM.  All 3 are running MS SQL Server, and all 3 are constantly the alarm of "use of virtual memory Machine".  Most have 4 GB of RAM and 2 CPU. On one of the virtual machine, I even put a reserve of memory of RAM.  This helped some, but after running for more than 1 day it starts to alert.  This server only runs our test of SharePoint database, it runs about half the speed as does our production SharePoint Server.  This happens even if it's the only host on the host computer.

Anyone had luck get SQL Server to operate without generating alarms?  Or even run near the same speed as a physical server?

    Stats:

    • Configured memory: 4800MB

    • Reservation of memory: 4096

    • Memmory host: 128 GB

    • VM CPU: 2

    • VM C: 100 GB drive (a few files on it storage... No databases)

    • VM D: drive 100 GB (has all the log files and the DB)

update of sql server 2005 service pack 3 error code 6D9E Windows update security does not accept the update

    Hey lasdj,

Thanks for posting in the Microsoft answers site!

If you receive Windows Update error 6d9e while installing SQL Server 2005 Service Pack 3 by using Windows Update, it means that the installation folders and directories are compressed or encrypted.

To fix this problem, make sure the folder locations where you are installing the service pack to aren't compressed or encrypted, or specify a different folder and then run Windows Update again.

Therefore, remove the compression of the DATA directory and run together to the top again.

Remove compression from the C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server folder and see if you are able to install the updates without any problem.

    Hyp version: 11.1.2.1

Components: Planning Hyp, EN and related services, ODI.

    I intend to

1 put level SQL Server side by side and not place

2 migrate Legacy applications on new server

If someone has done this before faced any problem? I see no any problem which should appear as a result of migration from 2005 to 2008 Server, but I wanted to be clear about this. How to plan the application will manage the change in DB.

Is there a method / recommended for this migration?

    Thank you

    Anjum

SQL Server upgrade does not impact on Hyperion.

If in the case of practice on different servers, I mean 2005 server 2008 Server, we have to configure again.

  • We have SQL Server 2005 cluster (3 node cluster), and if we improve this nodes to 2008 R2, the databases associated with the named instance can stay to the version of SQL Server 2005?

    original title: SQL Server 2008

We have SQL Server 2005 cluster (3 node cluster) and if we improve this nodes to 2008 R2, can the databases associated with the named instance remain to the version of SQL Server 2005, I seem to disagree with this notion, but still need to validation of the pro.

One way I can think of to achieve this scenario changes the compatibility level to SQL Server 2005 when the node has been upgraded to SQL Server 2008, so we can upgrade databases to SQL 2008 as and when the vendors provide support for this version.

    3. I created an inithsodbc.ora like that
    HS_FDS_CONNECT_INFO = hsodbc
    HS_FDS_TRACE_LEVEL = 0

    4. I have also set up the dns system and successfully tested.

    5. my link of database look like
    CREATE public DATABASE LINK "hsodbc.
CONNECT to 'sysdba' IDENTIFIED BY 'masterkey' USING 'hsodbc. "

    AMT-12560: TNS:protocol adapter error
    AMT-00530: Protocol adapter error
Windows 64-bit error: 2: no such file or directory

You have defined 2 separate listeners:
The first is called listener and uses port 1521 which contains the DG4MSQL entry in the SID_LIST_LISTENER. The second listener is called LISTENER_D4GMSQL and is listening on port 1511 - but this listener has no section of SID.

Your tnsnames.ora contains as port 1511, so when you try to use the link data base based on tnsnames.ora alias dg4msql connection is made to the LISTENER_DG$ MSQL (as this one is listening on 1511). But this listener does not have the SID DG4MSQL and so the connection fails.

You can now change your configuration by editing the tnsnames.ora file by ensuring that you use the listening port that serves the DG4MSQL SID:

    dg4msql =
    (DESCRIPTION =
    (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = tcp)(HOST=localhost) (PORT = 1521))
    (CONNECT_DATA = (SID = dg4msql))
    (HS = OK)
    )

    # SIDE NOTE: Make sure the LISTENER named listener has been started and serves the SID DG4MSQL

or by modifying your listener.ora file name change
    SID_LIST_LISTENER to SID_LIST_LISTENER_DG4MSQL
Afterwards please, STOP and START the utility LISTENER_DG4MSQL lsnrctl listener.

    Hello

Windows XP needs a SATA driver if you want to install on the laptop with SATA HDD controller.
Driver SATA can be found in the Intel Storage Manager.

I advise to use nLite program to include a SATA driver in the new Windows XP CD, then boot from the XP CD created new.
You will find details of the nLite:
