SQL server web edition 2008 r2 SPLA replace with property

Hello

I currently run a web application with my hosting provider on a dedicated server, I have with them.
It has an instance of SQL Server Web Edition 2008 R2 installed. They apparently have a contract SPLA from Microsoft. And so I have them pay a monthly subscription to use SQL Server to my ASP.Net applications.
I am however able to afford buying a SQL Server Web Edition 2008 R2 license. So no longer need to pay the monthly fee they charge me.
The problem is, I have a significant amount of custom jobs & configuration already set on this instance of SQL Server. And my host tells me they need to uninstall the instance, and then I have to install my own instance.
As you know very well, a hosting site is a 24/7 operation and the uninstall process, installation and re-configuration has a severe impact on the web application that I offer my clients.
If I understand well the problems of licenses etc I get the requirement. However, I think that it is - to be frank - stupid.
All I want is to have the current instance left intact and everyone wins. My host does not have to uninstall the instance, Microsoft gets it's money and my clients using my web application may exercise by using the web site as if nothing ever happened.
I would really appreciate help regarding this.
Kind regards
Michael Carroll

  • In SQL Server 2000/2005/2008 UltraLiteJ synchronization

    Hi all

Does anyone know how to synchronize to SQL Server 2000/2005/2008 UltraLiteJ?

I tried this, but there is an error showed.

Detected a version unknown or damaged configuration of the MobiLink system under owner 'dbo '.

I had created a DSN. But when I created the synchronization model, it failed, I could shoot.

When I run the MS-DOS command prompt Mobilink server, an error has occurred again,

[- 10002] "Consolidated database server or ODBC error: ODBC: [Microsoft] [ODBC SQL Server driver] [SQL Server] Login failed for user (null)".
Reason: Not associated with a SQL Server login that is approved. (State = 28000 ODBC, Native error code is 18452)

Could someone help me with the setting and the code maybe?

    Hi Hari,

You can ignore the warning 'version' unknown or damaged The synchronization model compares its own set of system tables against what you have in SQL Server and responds with this warning if it detects a difference. The comparison is strict, and it may signal a difference for reasons such as unusual places or different ODBC drivers. The message should have been accompanied by a detailed description, which would explain what he saw different.

Looks like your MobiLink server starts correctly and connects to the database. If it does not start successfully, you should see a message "Server MobiLink has begun" in the server window, and you should not see any entries in the window of the server starting with 'E'.

So if you have deployed your synchronization model, and the server is started, the next question is why your synchronization failed. It would be useful to retrieve the codes of error on the device, software versions and the MobiLink log entries using a comprehensive framework as - v + on the MobiLink command line. I would suggest that we are pursuing in the Sybase for MobiLink newsgroup, where you will find a number of people who are more expert that I am to all aspects of MobiLink.

You can access newsgroups via the web or by using a News Reader. The starting point for the two is http://www.sybase.com/support/community-forums and the newsgroup you need is sybase.public.sqlanywhere.mobilink (http://www.sybase.com/detail?id=1009240 ).

I think this would be your best way to go for that matter.

  • SQL server enterprise edition vs. Standard Edition

    Gurus,
I have about 8 applications on my place of work planning.
We are currently using SQL server enterprise edition.
Now, we are contemplating on using SQL server Standard edition for our development servers.
Y at - there no performance impact on the use of standard edition instead of wide edition.
Please let me know your thoughts.

    Thank you.

    Hello

Standard and Enterprise use the base engine Similarly there is no difference in performance, Enterprise version just had more additional features.

Express version works with Hyperion even if it is not taken in charge, express has the features of the standard maintenance and has a maximum DB size of 4 GB.

  • Microsoft sql Server 2005 edition express service pack (kb2463332)

I have a problem with this auto download, when I shut the computer down, I get the message that says loading 1 of 1 on a blue screen and wait, because when it's over, loading, it shuts it self but I left it all day and it does not change the only way I can restart is to push the button on the computer.

And now I can't stop even the computer from the standing start - of menu that nothing happens at all.

I think it might be this download at the origin of the problem.

    Gary

    Hi Gary,.

Check whether the update has been successfully installed or not.

Search for the installation error code that your computer has saved when the installation failed. To do this, follow these steps:

    a. click Start, click all programsand then click Windows Update or Microsoft Update.

    b. on the Windows Update Web site or on the Microsoft Update Web site, click view update history. A window opens that displays the updates that have been installed or that have failed to install on the computer.

    (c) in the State of this window column, find the update failed to install and then click on the red X.

    (d) a new window opens that displays the installation error code. Note the error number. You will have to type or paste the error number in a search box to the next step.
