SRware Iron - cannot get it my default browser
Hello, I can't get SRware Iron to be my browser default despite clicking on all of the right buttons ('make my default browser' on the launch, go to Options etc). I have a Windows 7 laptop and use a dongle broadband 3. Can anyone help? Thank you.
SRWare has a forum of users who have at least an examination of this issue and the solution. The title of the thread specifies Vista but there is only Windows 7 messages in as well. I couldn't find a search function (perhaps to register on the forum first) so there may be other discussions here as well. http://www.SRWare.NET/forum/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=2640
Note that I only use SRWare myself (never heard before) so I'm just passing on a source that may have something useful for you.

I want people to be able to send me an email on my site and I get this. I don't know much about computers. I have Notepad, but do not know how to use it. Help, please. and he explained the same way you would for a dummy
No, I want a link on my site for people to send me an email...
If they use an email client will have no problem. If this is not the case, they would have to copy and paste the link into their Webmail program field, so the link should be your actual address and not something like send me an Email with your address buried inside.

I am currently using this script, I found elsewhere on the Adobe forums. However, doing this function only adds everything with raw on top files. I now use a 5 d MKIII and Bridge CS4 may not generate CR2 previews, so I need the JPEG files to see what file is for General editing. How can I get this stack script to set the JPEG images on the top rather than the raw files?
(script posted by Paul Riggot in another forum)
#target bridge
If (BridgeTalk.appName == 'bridge') {}
Automatic stacking is MenuElement.create ("command", "Auto Stack", "at the beginning of the submenu/battery", "zx1");.
}
AutoStack.onSelect = function () {}
stackEm();
}
function stackEm() {}
App.document.sorts = [{name: "name", type: 'string', reverse: false}];
JPGs var = folder (app.document.presentationPath) .getFiles ("*.jpg");
app.document.deselectAll ();
for (a jpg in var) {}
var Name = decodeURI(jpgs[a].name).replace (/ \.) [ ^\.] +$/, '');
var cells = Folder (app.document.presentationPath).getFiles(Name+".*");
If (stacks.length < 2) continue;
(var z in batteries) {app.document.select (new Thumbnail (stacks [z])) ;}}
StackFiles();
app.document.deselectAll ();
}
function StackFiles() {}
app.document.chooseMenuItem('submenu/Stack');
app.document.chooseMenuItem ('StackGroup');
Hopfully, it should work now, I've now changed the sort order for the jpg is the first...
#target bridge if( BridgeTalk.appName == "bridge" ) { AutoStack = MenuElement.create("command", "Auto Stack", "at the beginning of submenu/Stack", "zx1"); } AutoStack.onSelect = function () { app.document.sorts = [{ name:"name",type:"string", reverse:true}]; var jpgs = Folder(app.document.presentationPath).getFiles ("*.jpg"); app.document.deselectAll(); for(var a in jpgs){ var Name = decodeURI(jpgs[a].name).replace(/\.[^\.]+$/, ''); var stacks = Folder(app.document.presentationPath).getFiles(Name+".*"); if(stacks.length < 2) continue; for(var z in stacks){ app.document.select(new Thumbnail(stacks[z]));} app.document.chooseMenuItem('StackGroup'); app.document.deselectAll(); } app.document.sorts = [{ name:"name",type:"string", reverse:false}]; }

Changing default browser to blackBerry Smartphones for Opera Mini
I would like to change my default browser for Opera mini. Even if Opera has been installed on my BB months ago I can't change it. I get to the default browser option, but then can't see opera as a choice to change. There are no choices for change.
Thanks for any help!
Debbie
graygrannyonate,
This is not possible unfortunately. I use Opera Mini as well and because it is a 3rd party software it can be integrated with the rest of applications that are developed by RIM.

Have WIN 8.1 and running Internet explorer as web browser cannot get Thunderbird to be my e-mail by default Web pages, keeps wanting to use MAIL!
About the prior Toad Hall "Windows default" comment. That was really the key to the problem - windows by default does not work unless ALL the boxes on Thunderbird are checked. I had used TB along right but wanted to send a few photos and the default TB has not been recognized, though even I had used for a few months. Where discover the box the letters on TB has been verified not a made only of the disappearance of the problem. Tried the default Windows repeatedly route to nothing does not.

Firefox is my default browser, but the answers to any question search provided by Google.
Mozilla never has not its own search site as a research site for example bing.com, google.com, yahoo.com etc.
You can choose one of the search engines by default that comes in the search bar or you can add another site to say http://mycroftproject.com/
It seems that if you do not use en Firefox as otherwise you would get from search results to Yahoo rather default since Firefox 34.0
Did you expect from a url of mozilla.org results?

Here's what I'm running:
Microsoft Windows 7 Service Pack 1, fully updated to 04/10/2012
New installation of Firefox 11. No add-on enabled following troubleshooting.
I am a user has administrator rights
SAMU is disabled.For starters, this has happened since Firefox 10 or more. A couple of months now.
I am able to open Firefox. My modules worked (ABP, Flashblock, ABP Element Hiding Helper, IETAB2, Downthemall, Greasemonkey, extension of 4chan) had no problem. Firefox is defined and has been fixed for the past two years as my default browser.
But since about 10 or so, maybe Firefox before, if I opened a session of Firefox and any other application attempts to open a session in a new window, I get the Firefox is already running but not responding do not error. »
I tried to follow the advice of already posted troubleshooting (glance to parent.lock files left [no date], several sessionstore.js [no date] files, create a new user profile, has tried to erase the 'read only' permission in windows 7, but as soon as it is cleared, only read permission back.)
As a last resort, I deleted the Firefox folder, the directory %APPDATA%/Mozilla in its entirety and then used CCleaner to remove all references to Firefox in the windows registry, and then made a complete re - install, without extensions installed right now.
I checked the preferences and have the option "open new windows in a new tab" checked. The problem persists without worrying if this option is checked or not. This problem persists in or out of safe mode, even with the new facility.
Test case:
All cases:
Firefox is selected as the default browser for windows 7Case 1: Log in to firefox. Use any other program that is trying to open a link to their Web site in a new window browser or the new browser session. "Firefox is already running" error
Case 2: Open a firefox session. Right click on Firefox in the taskbar. Select 'open in new window '. "Firefox is already running" error
Case 3: Open a session of firefox. Select the Firefox Menu > new tab > new window. In fact, a new window opens.
This is the only method of opening a new window in the same browser session or profile that actually works on my system. Attempting to open a browser session from the task bar "open new window dialog" or opening a new window while a current window/session is running will not open firefox in a new window or a new tab in the current session. The "Firefox is already running, but is not responding" error will occur every time.
Make sure that you do not start Firefox with the - No.-remote switch or have defined the MOZ_NO_REMOTE = 1 environment variable (Control Panel > system > advanced > environment variables).

Question
Recently, whenever I try to open Firefox, I get a dialog box: Exc in ev handl: TypeError: brw is not defined (JavaScript Application). Certainly, Firefox is my default browser.
After clicking on OK Firefox opens.You can probably get rid of it by disabling McAfee Site Advisor ending Firefox and then restarting Firefox and the reactivation of McAfee Site Advisor, ending at Firefox and restart Firefox. But it would probably be best to uninstall Site Advisor and reinstall (as opposed to the update)...
Please see the solution in http://kb.mozillazine.org/Problematic_extensions
"McAfee Site Advisor.(Windows): for best results, you need to uninstall McAfee Site Advisor from Control Panel > add/edit programs (programs and features). Restart the system. Then http://www.siteadvisor.com/ reinstalling and reboot the system. Installation of other waste (crapware) suggested applications.
Please mark "resolved" a response that will better help others with a similar problem - hope it was her.

I set Firefox as default browser, and IE is now gone. How can I get that back?
I downloaded the current version of Foxfire and set it as my default browser. I need to get work, and many companies only support IE. I clicked on IE and only Foxfire opens onto this icon. I can't find my IE, he, my favorites have disappeared and I can't ask jobs! I removed Firefox as default browser, but it didn't bring back IE. I am very unhappy at this stage and need help!
This has happened
Each time Firefox opened
Is when I put Firefox as my default browser
After a lot of messing around with the settings and the different windows, I found that it's only the desktop icons which are by default to open the Firefox browser. If you access your list of program and open IE here, it works and all the bookmark info are still there.

I'm in the Mexico and can browse the web but cannot get the roadrunner site to open the webmail server to allow access to e-mail. I worked around it through another proxy server, but navigation is a pain. does anyone know a solution to this problem? Roadrunner denies that it doesn't clog and so did the modem service here which is telmex?
[moved]
I had the same problem 2 weeks while in the Mexico. I contacted the support TWC and the person to whom I spoke said he had to unlock something. When he did, all my mail came in Outlook in the spam folder. It was OK because I got my mail.
I moved to a different House and now have the same problem again. I've contacted support TWC and not had much luck. The second level support person and I spent more than an hour, the call of the Mexico using Vontage. He has not found anything by the previous call that guided him by setting this time. He said that he would open a ticket and call me in the next 24 to 48 hours.
Is it reminds and solves the problem, I'll post how it was corrected.

Cannot get new url of the tab open with the homepage (Google).
After the upgrade, I cannot get rid of 12 boxes (Facebook, Youtube, etc.) on the new tab or make open with my homepage (Google). I tried two different newtaburl add-on, uninstall and reinstall Firefox and the directives of the object: subject: config, browser.newtab.url, etc. I can't even scratch try this approach. I can't get the 12 bar blues.
Well, I know I'm repeating something you've read before, but just for completeness (and also, I suspect this isn't built-in Firefox page):
(1) in a new tab, type or paste Subject: config in the address bar and press ENTER. Click on the button promising to be careful.
(2) in the search above the list box, type or paste newtab and make a pause so that the list is filtered
(3) double-click the preference browser.newtab.url and enter your favorite page:
- (Default) page thumbnails = > subject: newtab
- Blank tab = > subject: empty
- Built-in Firefox homepage = > topic: welcome
- Any other page = > full URL of the page
Press Ctrl + t to open a new tab and check that it worked. Fixed?
Some traps:
If Firefox will not let you change this setting: you can have what is called SearchProtect on your system.
Firefox if allows you to save your changes, but he doesn't know: one of your extensions may be the substitution of her. You can consult, disable and/or remove extensions on page modules. Either:
- CTRL + SHIFT + a
- "3-bar" menu button (or tools) > Add-ons
In the left column, click on Extensions
If the modification works during your session, but during the next startup is return to the unwanted page: you could have a user.js file in your personal settings Firefox (your Firefox profile folder). This article describes how to track down and delete the file: How to fix preferences that will not save.
A little luck?
