SSH for Linux server to a Windows Server instance

Hello
Is it possible to ssh / linux server to the server of the window-based connect?
I am able to connect Windows Server 2003 through linux but to ask for the root password. I had used the administrator, the same password I use for connection on the server in the window, but its not accepting.

I don't think that this has nothing to do with the topic of this forum: Oracle database.

  • Loading a flat file for Linux server

    Hi all
I ask that my previous question otherwise. I need to load flat files in a directory on a linux server. ODI is installed on a windows machine. I created the physical components of the architecture of FILES / logic and I test the interface with a small file. I am receiving an error message = "file not found". Questions:
    1. do I need an agent of ODI on the linux server to achieve this?
    2. in the definition of the data to the FILE Server I inclulde host / username / password and it successfully tested. Was it necessary? I only did this for my windows files.
3 understand #2 above, when defining the physical schema, I have included the host name. Is this correct? Since it is Linux the slashes go in the other direction - Yes? [I know it's a stupid question].

I am sure that the file exists. All recommendations are much appreciated!

1.) Yes, you need an agent on linux to achieve this. Or create a samba share that allows you to access files on windows linux
    http://askankit.blogspot.com/2009/02/step-by-step-guide-to-install-Oracle.html
(2.) no it's not necessary for a base file of dataserver. These details are necessary for a DB according to technology.
(3.) the host name is not necessary. It is governed by the location of the agent. If the agent is at the ABC's of the machine, then the host is ABC.

In ODI, the agent is a server and ODI installed on your windows machine is just a client that connects to the server to perform the work.

  • Download Firefox for Linux without Adblock and other extensions

I have a problem downloading of an adapted version of Firefox for Linux to run on a Knoppix Live DVD system, for use in the trial publishable extensions I developed under Windows. (This isn't a development question extension, however, just a problem downloading and the FF configuration properly).

I was surprised as the current (FF40) and anterior (FF34) version for Linux come with 3 extensions installed permanently - NoScript, Adblock Plus and FoxyProxy Standard. They apparently cannot be uninstalled, even if they can be disabled.

I read online in various forums that Adblock Plus is a hog memory and that she, in particular, as well as NoScript, may adversely affect the values with legitimate code on Web sites and extensions. I also read complaints from users who disable Adblock Plus does not remove all its effects.

During my tests I had problems that I thought were the result of Adblock Plus, so I turned off and restart the browser. The situation is greatly improved, but there are still some problems that may or may not be related to the shortage of memory.

The question is this: I want to download versions 'clean' FF for Linux without these extensions part 3 installed, for more conclusive tests, but have not found a way to do it.

I'm also curious as to why these extensions are 'forced' on Linux users. (I hope that never happens on Windows, or I could become a less committed user of the FF).

Firefox any version for Linux, Mac OSX and Windows www.mozilla.org or www.mozilla.org/firefox/all doesn't come with all Extensions.

You already had these extensions installed in Firefox profile, you use with Firefox.

All three of these Extensions are by a third author (s) and not by Mozilla.

  • CVI for linux and gtk +.

Is it possible that I can manipulate the settings of window user interface as titlebar visible (ATTR_TITLEBAR_VISIBLE) via GTK + or another Toolkit on Linux?  Basically I'm manipulating the Visual attributes of the user interface that are not compatible with Linux such as the visibility of the title bar, minimize and maximize buttons hidden, etc...

In windows, I used the windows SDK to create/manipulate the system tray icon menus.  There may be a similar approach under Linux?

    Thanks for reading,

    -pete

    Hi Pete,.

After a little more research, I found that it is possible to change these attributes, because CVI for Linux uses the X Window System. To do this, you would be able to get a reference to the X Window System attribute by using the function int GetPanelAttribute (int panelHandle, int panelAttribute, void * attributeValue) with ATTR_SYSTEM_WINDOW_HANDLE for the panelAttribute. From there, you can use X Window System functions to change the properties.

Thank you very much, I want to just connect to the server Linux Oracle database.
But I couldn't connect to the Oracle Server Linux server using ssh.
    >

SSH is not a technology allowing to connect to databases.

You will need to install an Oracle client on the Linux server, implemented a tnsnames.ora file that includes the necessary connection information for the database of Windows Server.

See the Linux 11 g Client install Guides here - http://www.oracle.com/pls/db111/portal.portal_db?selected=11&frame=

Then read through the 11 g Net Services (http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B28359_01/network.111/b28316/toc.htm) Administrator's Guide for an overview of connectivity.

  • Windows 7 - cannot get the IP address of the DHCP Linux server

I have several desktop computers and portable computers that have the Windows 7 operating system.  Some have Windows 7 Starter, Windows 7 Home and Windows 7 Professional.

My network is configured like this:

Desktop computers > switch > DHCP Linux server > router > Internet

Laptops > wireless bridge > DHCP Linux server > router > Internet

Windows 7 Professional does not appear to have a problem with my set up.  It can enter an address IPv4 automatically, wired or wireless.

Windows 7 Starter and Home cannot obtain address IPv4 correctly, wired or wireless.  If I give the static addresses of these computers, they can access the internet.  If I let them as dynamic, they will constantly try to connect and try to Identifingtwork.

I want to get my Windows 7 start and home computers to enter dynamic IPv4 addresses of my Linux DHCP server.  Note, I have never had any problem with Windows XP Home or Pro.

  • Download link for vCenter Server Appliance (Linux)

    Hello

I have the following situation: we bought VMware this week for our internal servers and want to administer the virtual machines with Linux (and only with Linux).

I downloaded VMware-vCenter-Server-Appliance-5.1.0.10000-1065184_OVF10.ova and imported this virtual machine. I can now administer all our virtual machines within a browser running on a linux client.

This virtual machine is running SUSE Linux Enterprise 11 (64-bit) and I would like to download these packages install to put in place a dedicated linux server (vShpere Web Client Version 5.1.0 build 1063329, customer-integrations-Plug-Ins: VMRC Version 5.1.0 Build 1060398 and Support Client Version 5.1.0 Build 832030)

I downloaded tons of ISOs and OVF from VMware today but found nothing to install on a Linux server dedicated (except these tools of comments).

Can we put a link or give me a clue where to download or in what ISO is?

And another question is: is it possible to install

    Thank you

    Bernd

The Linux version of vCenter Server is only available as a Virtual Appliance that you downloaded and not as a separate package such as the version of Windows.

  • Install PeopleTools 8,53 Linux question: Windows Client and Linux Server suite

    People,

Hello. I install PeopleTools 8,53 Internet Architecture. Database server is Dabase Oracle 11 GR 1 material. Operating system is Oracle Linux 5. I installed successfully JDK7, WebLogic Tuxedo 11 GR 1 material and PeopleTools 8,53 10.3.6, in Oracle Linux 5.

I've been setting up of database PeopleTools8.53. Because the Wizard installation problem, I created PeopleTools 8,53 database manually using Starter named PT853 Oracle database instance. I have run the following scripts:
    (1) utlspace.sql
    (2) dbowner.sql
    (3) ptddl.sql
    (4) psadmin.sql
    (5) psroles.sql
    (6) connect.sql

Then, we perform Data Mover script in a Windows Client computer to fill the PeopleTools PT853 database machine Linux Sever instance.
I have installed Oracle Database 11 g 2 client for 32-bit Windows in my Windows XP 64-bit. The installed directories are below:

    Server Linux machine:
    Oracle_Home: / home/user/OracleDB_Home
    ORACLE_BASE: / home/user/OracleDB_Base
    PeopleTools 8.53: /Linux/PT8.53

    Windows XP Client computer:
    Oracle_Client: /OracleDB_Client_Install_Directory
    PeopleTools 8.53: /Windows/PT8.53

What machine installed PeopleTools 8.53 in customer Windows, it is a step:

Select the location of the connectivity program directory:

What directory to select? We select the directory ' / home/user/OracleDB_Home "on Linux?
Oracle Client tools in Windows XP "Start" menu is used to connect Windows XP with Linux?

    Thank you.

The answer is «Yes, they use the tools of the Oracle Client installed on Windows XP.» The longer answer is that these client tools communicate with the Linux using TCP/IP database, etc., and exclusive Oracle TNS 'protocol '. This network communication usually occurs on port 1521, but you can configure your server to database for listening on different ports. Alternatively, you can do all kinds of fun things with forwarding port, tunnels, VPNs, etc. for the use of different ports and security protocols. There is much more than that, but basically these Oracle client tools provide utilities communication (drivers) used by PeopleSoft to connect to the database on Linux via the network.

I tried it and getting rman-03002 followed by ORA-19504, error Ora-27040 and linux-x86_64.

I used the following command to mount my windows share
    Mount-t cifs/o username = administrator, password = "XXXXXX" //172.16.1.50/files/MNT

    Nidsh

    Edited by: 883687 August 15, 2012 23:08

    Hello;

It should be possible. The ORA-27040 is

"O/S-Error: (OS 3) The system cannot find the path specified."

and the second error ORA-27040 seems to be an effect of the first.

File create error, unable to create file

Could be a permissions problem, so if you can mount the disk space windows, but cannot write to it (yet)

There is a note of support Oracle that covers this:

ORA-19504 ORA-27040 during Rman backup in a Directory Windows mounted under Linux [464267.1 ID]

Which confirms, in my view, the answer is Yes.

    Further that:

RMAN fail with ORA-19504 ORA-27040 when backup remote server linux [726858.1 ID] Windows Mount Volume
