  • Server Active Directory 2003. BIOS has caused the time change in members AD. Synchronize all closed and locked to certain services.

A MS tech got sent here, but not sure that this is the right place to ask.

So a client a little slow down in 2003. Yes, I know they no longer have the PDC and BDC, but I will use these terms to make it easier to explain.

PDC still in place. Most work after changing the time of return. I would just deal with the BDC as an orphaned domain controller and remove it manually.

If I do this, it will bring the PDC back online as a working domain controller. I'm not going to add back the BDC. PDC holds all the rolls. When I run the command repadmin /showrepl, I get the message that too much time difference between servers, so that replication has been stopped. I also noticed that anonymous log and other things have been disabled. I've seen a lot of docs on how to force replication, but I'd rather just remove the replication partner.

Again, someone knows if this will allow the RPC server and other accounts that have been closed to limit the damage. Do you need the RPC server to clean up metadata when you remove a server manually with ntdsutil?

Thank you, any information that would be useful is appreciated. Lyle

This issue is beyond the scope of this site (for consumers) and to be sure, you get the best (and fastest) reply, we have to ask either on Technet (for IT Pro) or MSDN (for developers)

  • How to update Active directory 2003 to 2012

  • What percentage of microsoft Active Directory of users are still on Active directory 2003

Does anyone know if there is an updated report on the percentage of companies who migrated to AD 2008 and what percentage are still on AD 2003?

    Thank you.

    Hi MSGG70,

We do not have this information here (this forum is not for servers) and to be honest I'm not sure that the info is available anywhere or even published if known, but the best place to look and ask is to start here: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/wnserverDS/threads.  Even if they don't know, they are more likely to know where or how to find out.

  • Active directory 2003 migrate to active directory 2008

Hello, I have an AD2003 field to many problems.  We also have Exchange 2007. We want to create a new forest area AD 2008 in the same IP subnet and install Exchange 2010.  Can I create a new forest of domain in the same IP subnet? What is the best way to create this new domain, and then migrate the workstation to the new domain and install all the other cool applications from scratch?

  • VCenter SSO Active Directory identity Source edition

    Hello

I am facing a strange problem when you change the Source of identity SSO for Active Directory integration. When I try to change the URL of the primary and secondary LDAPS server I got the error "unable to connect to one or more of the provided external server URL: servername.domain.com:3269 ' initially, then" unable to connect to one or more of the provided external server URL: GSSAPI. I think it's the same problem. SSO is trying to contact the former domain controller (which no longer exists) and cannot save the changes.

I tried it with a CNAME entry for the old FULL domain name, but it seems to not work. I can still edit with CLI commands, I can only find create and delete actions for the command.

Most of Google's responses to this topic is to remove the Source of identity and create a new. Can my question, I get other problems when you remove the Source of identity, as for example with the permissions on folders, virtual computers, etc. ? If this is not the case, what I need to do something else and then delete and create a new? Reset? Restart the service or something?

Would be great if someone could help me quickly with it.

    Thank you!

    Hello

I have the test in a test environment. Source of identity must be deleted and a new must be created in order to change the URL of a server that is no longer active. No permissions are deleted when you delete the identity Source.

There is no firewall between the vCenter and the domain controllers. Thanks for the answer.

  • Impossible to browse Active Directory to an ACS 5.1

    Hello

We joined our ACS 5.1 in our Active Directory 2003, the system seems properly attached on the ACS we like connectivity status: joined and if we try with the test button we get "connection succeeded", on the AD tool, we notice that you have created a computer for our ACS account.

We wanted to created the group directory but the navigation tool is empty and no request does not give any output.

The ACS is joined, but we are not able to browse Active Directory.

Any suggestions that could be the problem?

  • Microsoft and Oracle Internet directory to Active Directory

    Hi all

We have an in-house application that is running on the Oracle 10 g application server. We have a requirement where we want that the user windows authenticated and approved as the user connection for our application.

    (1) it is possible to map users to login windows for Oracle Internet Directory?
    (2) if so, how copy/create windows in Oracle Internet Directory users?
    (3) Microsoft Active Directory plays a role in the present?
    (4) what will be the overall throughput if we fix all this?
    (5) is there any place where I can find simple but complete documentation on this?

    Pls help.

    Kind regards
    Samuel

    Hi Samuel,.

to do this, you will need to integrate the OID/SSO with Active Directory, as shown:

    Oracle® Identity Management Integration Guide
    10g (10.1.4.0.1)
    B15995-01 part number
19 integration with Microsoft Active Directory
    http://download-UK.Oracle.com/docs/CD/B28196_01/idmanage.1014/b15995/odip_actdir.htm#OIMIG026

    (1) it is possible to map users to login windows for Oracle Internet Directory?
If windows users are domain users, then Yes, trough Kerberos and Native of Windows authentication.

    (2) if so, how copy/create windows in Oracle Internet Directory users?
This task will be done by the ODI (Oracle Directory Integration) server. This will make a sync LDAP based between OID and AD.

    (3) Microsoft Active Directory plays a role in the present?
    Yes, he plays :)

    (4) what will be the overall throughput if we fix all this?
-Users are synchronized by DIP of AD to OID.
-User opens the application in the browser
-The browser sends the kerberos session on the SSO Server ticket
-SSO server validates the ticket against the KDC
-SSO logs the user in the application based on the kerberos (windows logon) ticket

    (5) is there any place where I can find simple but complete documentation on this?
Click on the link I gave you. There are also a lot of notes about this integration metalink. Is a common integration.
