  If you have only downloaded a PDF reader software as Adobe Reader which can be downloaded for free, you can only read the file you cannot change the file. You need to download or buy PDF Editor so you can edit and read the PDF file.

  -What happens when you lose the Internet connection? You receive an error message? If Yes, indicate the same.

  Put your computer in a clean boot state to identify the application at the root of this problem.

  2. When you receive the error message from error checking?

  First unplug all external devices (except keyboard and mouse) and then try to boot to the desktop and let us know the status.

  Method 1

  Check if the computer starts in safe mode and after back with the results.

  I solved the problem with "hidden" files The answer is a little embarrassing. When I imported my files in W7 in XP they missed to 'sort by date/time. Because they were alphabetically in XP, the order of the new date set match alphabetically on the first import in W7. I didn't know they were are more sorted by name because the order of date / hour now equated the name order. I opened each file the file sort order has changed and it settles at the bottom of the list that is logical, newest at the bottom. It seemed to me that I was lost files because they fell in alphabetical order and moving toward the bottom of the list. Once I clicked on sort by file name everything came back and worked well since. Sorry, I should have posted this a long time ago.

System Restore does nothing useful. CHKDSK does not seem to find any errors. The last thing I want to do is to reinstall my operating system. Before my computer became like this, I had no virus on my computer and was not installed and drivers. However, I switch autour with boot options to allow two processors start the computer, but I no he did not do a reboot. I suspect that something in the boot parameters is in trouble.
