Hi I am new to oracle applications that We are having 2 application and a simultaneous database running in the node database

one please tell me the steps to stop this application and the database

In order to stop BSE:

-Shtudown Services of Application (it will compromise all the services in the app as well as managers of Concurrnet running in the node of the DB)

-Stop DB

-Listener shutdown DB

at the start, it's the opposite.

Upgrading Oracle 11 g in Oracle Application Server 10 g application server?

I use Oracle Application Server 10g (10.1.31) now, and I want to upgrade to server applications Oracle 11 g, how do I do now?
I'm not OAS11g, but I find 11g Oracle Weblogic (10.1.36), they are same?
If they are same, I need to download weblogic 11g directly, or is it to be directly upgraded package?

You can install Weblogic directly and redeploy your Application in Weblogic.

Because if you have a SOA in 10.1.3.1 then there are separate steps and if you have only OC4J, so there are different steps to install 11 g.

Oracle Applications 11i: exit Station Manager is broken

I was working on Oracle application 11i cloning lately and after having completed the clone, my conc. exit Station Manager (PPO) isn't coming in the target system.
I tried to solve the problem by running 'cmclean.sql' and ran thn autoconfig on the application node, but the problem still persists

To resolve the warning (REP-0004: WARNING: could not open the file of user preferences), copy the file prefs.ora to your report builder $ORACLE_HOME/tools/admin/directory in the directory $HOME of the Applications.

Please do the above step after that, if you get an error, please paste the same thing here.

Is possible to clone oracle applications without service interruption data?
I was looking for a way to clone an EBS production to a pre-production machine, but all that copying is very time consuming.
Is it possible to copy only the data from the database? Already, 2 machines have the application installed and equal layer.

WebService call failed during the test adapter for oracle applications
In SOA 11 g, when I test my application that uses Oracle Applications card it gives an error "Webservice invocation failed. The error stack is

oracle.sysman.emSDK.webservices.wsdlapi.SoapTestException: Exception occurred when the link was invoked.

Please fix this and then restart the application server

The same as xADataSourceName the value of the Data Source JNDI name, but still get this error.
Specify the location of the ra.xml file - weblogic and steps to guide to solve this problem.

Looks like the Oracle Application adapter is not running.
Connect to the weblogic administration console on your left window, click on * "Deployments" *, and then click your right window, under summary of deployments, check the status of * "OracleAppsAdapter."
It should be in Pavilion OK, so that it can reproduce and accepting applications.

I have an error while clonning Oracle Application 11i on windows 2003 sp1 32-bit db 9.2.0.6.0

When you run adcfgclone.pl dbTier it runs successfully uptill 70% at this stage it throws the below error

Is there a way to determine which application is locked this port that I tried again with a different port number and always the same result
I don't have any other application or OracleAS application server running on the machine that supposedly can block a port.

Do you have any product Oracle installed on the same computer? Please see the referenced above.

You can try with a different port pool (i.e. 1 instead of 0) and see if you get the same error or not.

In addition, see utility Portmon which can be downloaded from http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb896644 for a list of ports that are used on the same machine.

I am a consultant EBS technique and working on SOA and distributed applications Oracle Application, please consider the scenario and suggest the idea and me.

Suppose
1. we have 2 Oracle Application R12 (EBS-1, 2 - EBS) installed on 2 different remote sites, network disconnection may be broken in this network.

2. the user always works on (EBS - 1 installed at Headquarters) and only works on EBS - 2 (local installation) If you connect network is lost to connect with EBS-1.

EBS - 2 is a replica of the EBS-1 when it is installed the first time.

Scenario of

Last inventory item ID is 5444 EBS-1
Last inventory item ID is 5444 EBS-2

the user created a new element to the EBS - 1
Last inventory item ID is 5445 EBS-1
Last inventory item ID is EBS 5444-2 (no new item not created)

Now the user can not access EBS-1 and now begins to work on EBS-2 premises and take steps.

create a new item to the inventory item id is now 5445. and create various reception for this new item.

EBS - 2 is installed at the head office is now available and now the operation performed at EBS - 2 must be transferred to the headquarters and what on the inventory, 5445 item id is already created EBS-1 how and I have to import receipt point and misc, stock item will be different how can I load a transaction receipt misc.

There is no R & D needed. It is impossible to use the interfaces/API to keep the two instances of ebs in sync when they are in a master-master relationship. The number of interfaces, even for a single module (for example, the inventory you mentioned) will be astronomical (sorry for the hyperbole).
Might be better to look at the architectures of systems tolerant/database error rather than a solution based on the interface.

You cannot use spaces in file names, so I think that these errors are because you use a space in the name of the directory (Oracle R12) - Please change the name of the directory to another name without spaces (e.g. OracleR12) and retry the installation then.

so I decided to use DRCP, because side database is 11g. but client-side APEX works on the server of database 10g + and customer 10g + OID (10.1.4).)

OC4J & Oracle Application Server.when which use? relationship between?
In regards to Java EE platforms, I'm used to working with Sun, Glassfish platforms and Servlet as Tomcat containers.

However, I need some straightening with the application servers Oracle... at least the three things that I called an... application server that is:

• Weblogic server
• Oracle Application Server
• OC4J.

I assumed the main specific questions, I have this topic are:

(1) are all Java application servers?

(2) what is the division of labour between all of them? [they all work like servlet containers?] [or JNDI, etc...?] Or completely overlap their functions... or just partially?

(3) are each one interchangeable [by that I mean: is only used at the time, they work in a hierarchy - for example, if someone wants to use the Oracle application server can use by itself or must they first OC4J?]

I have much more difficulty in finding answers to well known topics, [as I am assuming that the use of application servers is]; at least, a much more difficult that I have do to find how to customize the code that I need and other steps down the line.
I have read a large part of the documentation for these, but many blurs the line between the uses of OC4J and OAS, so what hole in the functionality of the OAS brings WebLogic in the image.

Thus, any help at all that someone can provide would be much appreciated.

1. the EM console is a Web application designed to manage the instance and you are allowed to create many OC4J containers according to the needs, think this OC4J as a case of Tomcat, which will have as much FMV to the need (something that still has no BCI).

2 branch oracle BEA and Weblogic became to be the OAS Java container and they decied to change the name of OAS BCI and they will keep some OAS products and replace other BEA for use in BCI.

I received a new assignment, which involves Oracle 10g application server, I am new to oracle application server and hoping that someone will specify please my doubts.

I clone a production machine (Solaris 10), which has oracle 10 g, this machine was Oracle database 10g before and just the application server has been installed on this subject, I need to clone a test environment for this machine, I have two following doubts

(1) is it possible to install just Oracle Application server 10 g on a computer that already contains the database oracle 10 g, in the affirmative, whereas on the database that is installed when you install the Oracle 10 g application server.

(2) how to clone the machine of production above, the oracle 10 g database can we clone first, and then the application oracle 10 g cloned on the new server machine?

(1) Yes, it is possible. The DB that comes with the OAS, as DB infrastructure for it (I assume that you install a full OAS with infrastructure and environments times) does not affect the DB that you already have on your system... of course... as long as install you them in their separate homes.

(2) I always say, the term cloning is used a bit loosely, in the sense of general communication making copies. In the context of the OAS, cloning works for middletiers only. You can't clone an infrastructure.

To make an alternate/redundant environment for the OAS, you can proceed as follows:
(- a) is using the same infra on computer 1 and install another high and register with the same infra.
(b) or to install another infra on machine 2, and also an environments registered with it.

Here for the first option (a), cloning can be used because you can (* only *) clone an intermediate layer. There are advantages and disadvantages of this facility, including that you share the SSO and OID, and therefore the users and the groups of bases, etc. on these two environments - something you can or don't want to. But then, there are also a few outputs so as to avoid or minimize their effects too. Please see the following reference for cloning and research on Metalink to minimize the effects, once you get more familiar with the process.
