Stock messaging app using 32% battery?

My carrier is USMobile and my plan does not sent or received MMS. However, my friend told me that they sent me a message from the photo, but I don't have any sort of notification no "download again" in stock Messenger application. I know that the messenger app will continue to try to download this picture and she eats to the top of the stack and will heat up the phone, but my service provider does not support the message of the photo so I don't know how to remove the incoming message? 0_o

How can I disable picture messages in the inventory Messenger app? Is or if I can't turn this off, safe to uninstall the default messenger?

(I use a brand new Moto X first generation)

There isn't a way to disable the MMS, but you can go into the settings and turn off "Auto-recycling '. If this is checked then uncheck. Now, if you get a text Message, it will not try auto download the. You should be able to remove it just before that the phone tries to download it.

You cannot uninstall an application by default either. You can, if you want to disable. If you do this, you will not be able to get the texts, however, either. If you need help with this just after here once again. We should be able to get you going. I hope this helps.

Thanks for the update to iOS 10.02! I understand that after the update your Messages application uses a very high amount of your battery. You can try to force quit the Messages app and relaunch. Force a nearby application on your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch

If this does not resolve the problem, try the advice contained in this link to maximize the life of your iPhone's battery. Maximize the life and the life of the battery

iOS 10 message app consumes too much battery

I upgraded my iPhone SE iOS 10 today with the percentage of the battery to 90%

After a few hours update, my phone battery is 53%, when I checked the battery I found the message app has consumed more than 20% of battery.

My iPhone is used for the last 2 days until now.

Update after a few days, the battery issue seems to have disappeared, it could be due to the upgrade.

Problems using Messages app for you sign in to messenger FB

Hi all!

I used to use the messages app on my mac to chat on messenger FB. As you may know, we can do this by creating a jabber account in the messages application. However, for these past months, it has just stopped working and I'm basically impossible to connect to my jabber account (e-mail FB). Whenever I try to connect, he asks me to enter my password then it says that my username/password is incorrect.

Well, they are not bad I can use the same passage to connect to my FB and I checked my username on FB just to be safe.

I did everything possible to try to resolve this problem. Called apple care, went to the genius bar etc... None of them know what to do. 90% of them did not even know he xas actually gets set up an account jabber and cat by FB messaging directly from the messages app.

In any case, I hope that someone who is a greater genius than the geniuses at the apple store can help me to sort.

While this Doc says April it was July before most people noticed and it seems that some are stayed connected or were able to reconnect since then as well.

Basically, Facebook has closed their Jabber server (those with @facebook.chat.com IDs)

They were launched from a separate application for Macs and have a different game in place in login pages in a browser for the cat.

Thank you for using communities of Apple Support. From your post, I am not sure if you want your Mac to pass messages text or if you want to stop. Whatever it is, it is usually easy and to turn this feature on or off.

Messages (El Capitan): get and send SMS messages -use this section to set up text Message transmission.

To turn off, on your iPhone, tap Settings > Messages > text Message transfer and turn it off. You can also go to your Message on your Mac preferences and disconnect the the ID share your Mac and iPhone.

How can I transfer the entire contents of my messages app on my iphone to the messages on my mac app?

the problem is, when I create in the messages app a new account with my appl ID (for example on a new mac) I also use with my iphone, so everything worked very well for the starting point of creation.

BUT... some older posts, I have on my iphone will appear in the new messages.app - account on my mac.

I have thousands of old messages and conversations, I now can only see on my phone or with some more or less useful third party apps. those who cannot vonert messages to a PDF file or som other format useful semi > but no one can transfer it in the messages app.
- I learned that apple does not save my imessages for more than 72hours (which makes me happy because of the confidentiality of the data), so I can't take via imessages-servers.

Can't do.

iMessages are pushed by the iMessages servers to devices recorded at this time there.

They are not held on servers and are deleted as soon as receiving devices accept.

(that is, it is not like electronic mail that can be left on the server (POP) or rest on the (IMAP) server to be retried by other devices that can identify you later).

How the files/iMessages are stored on the iPhone and the way the Mac stores are not the same.

It is possible to have the iPhone one store backup via iTunes on Mac.

From there on, it is possible to use third party applications to read (check out them and make them as text files), but they cannot be forced into Messages.

By copying and pasting entire conversations from one chat to another it's the Mac send s just like a long piece of text with few (not in use) formatting.

Can also have problems with actually duplicate the whole file with space on the iPhone in the first place.

How to have separate conversations w / the same person in messages app

is it possible to have several conversations with the same contact but different addresses in the messages (El Cap) application?

My problem: I have two conversation with the same person: I text him through iMessage using his e-mail and SMS (phone number, no iPhone) that appears in the application messages through continuity (or let do or what they call that). However, the iMessage cat and the cat of text message (which is separated on my iPhone) is mixed in a chat on the Mac (which is a mixture of blue and green bubbles). And when I type a message on the Mac it's a lottery if it will be sent as a text message or an iMessage. On the iPhone, it is clearly separate.

How can I have discussions in the messages.app on my Mac?

Messages app does not appear new conversations

Recently in a vain attempt to get Microsoft PowerPoint and Word to open files without complaining about permissions I tried to reset the permissions and a few other terminal-y things that I probably shouldn't have been messing around with.

After rebooting my computer, my Messages App went to the default view (no overview of conversation, abbreviation for each person within a circle) and was empty of all conversations. When a new iMessage would come to my phone, it wouldn't show up on the list. However once I started a new conversation with someone in the Messages application the conversation would be there (as well as messages between me and this person). When a conversation is present and the person texts/iMessages new messages appear and I am notified.

Any ideas?

Was it the orange 'Help' brand test or the green "Resolved" objects of this thread Reset Home Folder permissions and ACLs error ?

It is best to run the first test to see if you need the other.

Permissions repair which was never touched disk utility via the home folder in any way.

If you used a third-party app or utility, that it would be preferable, tell someone that used as the same may be able to comment on and areas it covers.

It would seem that you have "lost" some of the connection to the chat.db items in ~/Library/Messages

A few details about what was changed can also help us to help you.

I would be tempted to use a Time Machine backup to the point before you start playing with things.

Message app not working not not after upgrade of El Capitan

I just upgraded my MacBook Pro with the El Capitan OSX 10.11.4 and almost everything works well except the Message app will not work. When I click on the application from the Applications folder, it loads the menu bar that appears at the top of the screen, but it does nothing else. I have improved the OSX before using Maverick and Yosemite, but have never experienced any problems with any application does not properly. Any ideas on how to get this soft Message works again? Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.

consolidation of two Mac OS messages.app archive / database (old SMS migration to new mac)

Hi, some time ago I move from the MBW Unibody (Yosemite) to the MBP (as the new Yosemite and El captain now). System files of old, full of junk mac, did not migrate to a new. I had an iPhone 4S at this time, later I change 4 s to 5 s. It took me a while to realize that my archive messages.app on new MBP starts from a ~ September and there is no SMS messages more former both on MBP and 5s.

I know that it is not a problem to replace my new archive old MBP but I want to keep the MBW SMS old and new SMS of MBP.

Copy of name/library/Messeges/Archive users/user content does nothing.

Someone at - he had idea of:

1. consolidate the chat.db, chat.db - shm, files chat.db - wal?

2. force download messages from old iPhone 4S for MBP

3. He made?

Will be grateful for the help, I just can't work it out by myself.

The chat.db elements are the SQL files and you could (I have not tried) get and application that can read the files to merge some.

(2) cannot be done. Although the files are on the iPhone and can be backed up in iTunes, then a utility used to bring in text, there is no way to get this into Messages.

The files are for a different OS (only compatible applications between them - that would be like trying to work with the LENS for PC files saved in the Mac version)

Cannot open links from the stock email app

I can't open a link embedded in any email in the stock email app. I have looked everywhere for the parameters that can fix this but can't find. I have the Gmail app for my personal account (links open very well) and use the stock for my job application account Exchange. Any thoughts on how to solve this problem? I tried to delete the account and add it to the title of the app Gmail and the links open it. However, I have separated (personal and professional).
