Stocks advanced in Captivate 7

I have Captivate 6.0, but is it possible in version 7 to insert a new decision in advanced Actions, but you can choose the insertion point of the new decision?

AdvancedAction.jpg

In version 6.0 of Captivate inserts the new decision at the end of the block of the decision. I would like to insert a new decision at the beginning. I don't see how this is possible in version 6.0. but can someone tell me if this is possible in version 7.0? Thank you!

It has no bearing whatsoever, CP will put quotation marks when you have more than one word, it's as simple as that.

  • Bugs introduced in stocks advanced with the release of Captivate 9?

I can't get the progress of actions to work properly. It seems buggy. Sometimes an action disappears completely, even if the name is still in the list. At other times, when I entered a value that it disappears and I can't update the action.

Does anyone know if there is a known bug and if there is a solution for this? I have to go back to version 8?

Why 'cpCmndGotoFrame with cpInfoCurrentFrame? This is for the most part unnecessary, if the buttons have a suspension point. If you explain better, you can avoid that. I only use micronavigation when it is really necessary, and it can cause audio indeed stop.

  • Navigation limited using advanced in Captivate 9 actions

    Hello

My client likes to have limited navigation on some slides so that the learner must click on all the items on the slide before going to the next page. I use the games for the navigation bar. Here are the steps I took:

    • Added user variables
    • Tip Action to increment the variable to 1 whenever we click on the button and show hidden content
    • Conditional action in the slide, on enter, view the playback from all bar the button variable is greater or equal to 1, otherwise hide game bar. But the conditional action does not work and game bar remains hidden. What Miss me?

Pressing enter is performed only when "return you" to the slide. I suspect that this is not the case here, if my hunch is correct. A tip action must always be triggered by a "case." You could have a look at my post on the events (has a descriptive list which you can download for free): events / Actions (Advanced) - Captivate blog

You must combine the two actions in one conditional action with two decisions, which will be triggered by the buttons. I posted this workflow already several times. The conditional action needs two decisions:

First decision 'Always' is a standard simulated action:

IF 1 is equal to 1

Increment v_button1 with 1 I prefer this way each object, v_ indicates it is a variable

.....            other commands that you want to

    Second decision "Check it".

IF v_button1 is equal to or greater than 1 AND

v_button2 is equal to or greater than 1

    See the PlayBar

It is not possible to use a joint action in this case. The sequence of these two decisions is very important.

  • Properties Options & advanced in Captivate 9 answers?

Advanced answers in Captivate 8 option was essential for me (as discussed here). Now at 9 I don't see the Options menu in the response at all MCQ object properties, a fortiori the functions that were previously that it contains. No mention of that in the new documentation... someone knows where this feature would have to? I could produce a personalized return of advanced actions etc, but time money and this Panel saved a lot of it. Help please!

Okay--it looks like a problem in 8 schools. So, to summarize: the property options menu is not available, and therefore advanced answers cannot be used for quiz answers in question pools in the projects of a reactive nature. In addition, the options menu is available, but the answers advanced are NOT available for question pools in any type of project.

Also I thank you for verification, Lieve. Unless you do not experience this problem in these scenarios, I'll kick it to the Adobe team.

  • Stocks advanced with him apply the effect

    Hello!

I'm working on a Captivate 7 project where there are a number of objects on a slide, and I created an advanced action that uses apply effect to expand all objects off the slide (except those I want to stay) in addition to extra zoom content in the slide when one of the objects is enabled.

Here are the problems I encounter:

    1. Some zoom not completely out of the slide objects.  They stop near the edge but do not disappear.  When you click on the original, click object a second time, it seems to go all the way.
    2. Zoom into objects should be soon same time that zoom of objects, but are not, until you click again on the original object of click.
    3. I added a button display to come in (that works) and I try to find a way for her to show all the original objects without having to create a new advanced action to make things zoom in place.

If anyone has encountered these problems before and can offer some advice?

    See you soon!

Zoom in and Zoom out don't really move things anywhere.  These effects simply change the size of objects expanding from small to large (Zoom In) or their narrowing between big and small (Zoom out).  So in addition to the effect of zooming, you will probably also need to add a motion effect that moves the objects off the stage more.

Looks like you have problems to control where the effects because you apply them via advanced Actions.  It is a large area of frustration for many Captivate authors.  Some successes to report by creating a custom and then effect by modifying the XML file created in order to gain more control over the timing.  However, be warned that this requires getting your hands dirty with XML code and is very tedious.  Captivate provides no default is an easy way to control the timing of the effects if you apply via advanced Actions.

For your button show that I propose that the simplest solution is to create copies of all your objects, remove their applied effects and just place them in the same positions that they would be at the end of their effects, then use your button to perform an action advanced to view these copies of the original objects.  Much easier to control.

  • Why don't my clickbox running stocks advanced more than once?

    Hello

I could use some help troubleshooting one of my projects. I'm using a couple of clickboxes that perform distinct advanced actions - by clicking once audio shows, text, displays an image or two and then clicking on other shows different text, different images, etc.

This works like magic on a first run through. By clicking box 1 is what I expect, and clicking on zone 2 does what I expect. The problem is that clicking again does nothing.

    Things I've tried...

    -infinite attempts

-all on the slide remains until the end of the slide

-variable system used to ensure that everything happens on the same chassis

Any thoughts? In all, any help is appreciated.

    Thank you

    -Kevin

P.S. - this complex is just to start/stop a few audio using my images customized for power. Someone at - it a widget that can do this, so I can avoid this mess first? Or, how it would be difficult for me to get this widget? Am I overlooking some very simple ways to read data audio clips on demand with Captivate?

Ah, finally got: discovered that you can't CBs on top of the other, even if you hide/show them at different times. Am I correct that? So I'll have to find another way to play/pause. Lilybiri, I read your posts on this topic right now. Thanks again!

  • Need to slow, step by step instructions on creating an advanced action - Captivate v9

If someone is willing to help, it would be greatly appreciated... the 'codes' and the choices in the drop down menus on the screen of the fast Action don't make sense to me. I need verrry slow, step by step instructions for the complete fool. General "If... then" steps would help, but here's what I'm trying to specifically:

On my screen, I have three statements, each with a checkbox. The user must check all three boxes before the next button will lead to the next screen. If they check a box, or both boxes, a text box should appear when you click the next button.

I * think * I have the necessary components on the screen, but need to check that too. The three boxes are Smartshapes with two States (controlled and checked), the next button is a Smartshape (no), and the text box that should appear when the user clicks next with less than three checkboxes is also a Smartshape (not States).

If you can help, great... Let me know what other information might help...

    Chuck

Create 3 user variables: v_one, v_two, v_three , with a default of 0. They will check if the box is checked or not. Value = 0 means do not checked, value = 1 means checked.

The images for the boxes have two States: Normal (no check mark) and verified, the image itself I tagged Im_one, Im_two, Im_three

Create the caption text or shape with text, tag Message and make it invisible output (icon "eye" on the properties panel).

Form each transparent button on the images a trigger a conditional action; I would create a shared instead of a tip action. It will look like this (example for the first action):

In regards to the Submit button, will make this advanced conditional action:

The ELSE part has only a single command: 'show the Message '.

Don't forget to put the suspension for buttons 4 point form in the same place.

  • Stocks advanced for Matchstick Puzzle (CP8)

    Hello

I create a matchstick puzzle where you click to remove matches (matches images).

    The order is not important.

When the user clicks on the image of the match - picture is hidden and a preview of the image.

If the user clicks on the outline of that match image.

I have a "Games deleted" counter that displays the number of matches images that have been deleted.

And a 'Matchstick_visible' variable that indicates whether the match image is visible or not.

There is a ' send' button on the screen to complete the puzzle.

Everything works fine, but now I want to only allow users to remove a number of matches for example 4.

When the user tries to remove a 5th match will get a message telling them they have to replace a match before they remove another match.

I don't know how to add this feature to the AA below.

Captivate 8.0.1.242, inadmissible, scoring no., no. LMS, Windows.

    AA for each game:

    1 - the Visible decision:

    IF 'Matchstick_visible' = 1

    Hide a picture match

    Display image contour match

"Deleted matches' increment of 1 meter

    Decision 2 - Invisible:

    IF Matchstick_visible = 0

    Display image match

    Hide contour match image

Decrement the counter "corresponds to deleted" by 1

    Decision 3 - toggle:

    IF 1 = 1

    Toggle Matchstick_visible

    Concerning

    Donal.

I'm welcome to manually reset a match one by one, or to reset everything. And if the user cheats and removes a 7th match, everything will be reset automatically.

Creation of such a game is not that difficult (for me), but having to write explanations takes much more time.

  • Problem with Slide playhead still advancing stocks advanced use

I have been troubleshooting this slide in my day project, experimenting advanced Actions to properly stop the playhead to move forward on a slide.  This slide has the buttons I created using images inserted into intelligent forms.  These "buttons" launched a series of items when you click on it using advanced actions and pause the playback head.  I get it works fine.  However, my calendar continues to move until a button is clicked.  I have tried everything I can think of a break from the slide, but when I do, my buttons be will stop working, or in some cases do not appear yet.  Any ideas?  Here is a screenshot of my calendar and also a box of action advanced to one of the buttons.

    Screen Shot 2014-06-25 at 9.39.36 AM.pngScreen Shot 2014-06-25 at 9.45.13 AM.png

??? Why not just add a point of suspension of the form buttons? I don't see an audio clip, or staggered on the timeline objects, why do you need a slide with a duration of 10secs? If you add a point, stopping at each form button at the same time, you can reduce the duration of the slide to 3 seconds, you need not break training in advanced actions.

  • Record Captivate 4 with windows WPF applications

Anyone having problems recording sessions captivate uses a windows WPF application. Specifically, I lose my ability to display data in a drop-down list controls, although the data is there as I can get it back by using the keyboard. I also had problems with the application after clicking on the drop down arrow to lock. I was assured by the development group that they stuck to exotic standard WPF, no third-party controls controls. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hello

Hmmm, this makes me wonder if WPF is what is used to present stocks advanced in Captivate. I say this because I personally had problems with the region taking in Captivate.

One suggestion is to establish control of remote desktop of the PC with Captivate. In fact, you run the application that poses problem on a separate computer. You be flown remotely from the PC where you installed Captivate. Because it is simply an application windowed on the PC where Captivate is installed, you can usually overcome incompatibility between the application and Captivate.

    Hope this helps... Rick

  • Multi-Clic Interaction with the hidden objects

Trying to create a multiple interaction of click through which a firm component when another one opens. Best way I can describe would be similar to the following. If you had a map of the globe, and wanted to put a caption on each through which the user can click on each country and the name of this nation would appear. Then, when they clicked on another country - the first legend would disappear and would show the new legend.

I know how to make the initial one show - which is no problem. Essentially, I have the a button transparent on the United States and labeled the button as btn_US and tagged legend as States text_united and make sure that I have the text off to the initial view. I have my button 'show' text_US. My problem is to get the others disappear. Rollovers do not work because I'm wanting to click and I believe there is more control to the user. Also, if I were to use a form - it is easier for me to the contours of those countries than to the standard square in outline Inbox button.

    Thank you very much.

  • Shares advanced cyclical in captivate

Does anyone know a way to constantly check a variable? I want to slide to 'know' when a variable is + 1 without going through the user click a button "check".

No, each advanced in Captivate action must be triggered by an event. And unlike that in Flash, where you have an OnEnterFrame event, this event does not exist in the CP. I've listed by the CP events available in the presentation in this blog:

  • Hide advanced action does not work after that triggered the effect

I have a pretty simple step action that does the following:

    Hide banner

Apply motion effect to 3 SmartShape from right to left

    Cache: SmartShape3

SmartShape 3 is essentially half a rectangle rounded, which acts as a banner with text. At the beginning of the slide, it is hidden and sitting almost out of the scene. When you click a button, it does the following:

    See the banner

    Show: SmartShape3

Applies the effect of movement from left to right to SmartShape

This gives the illusion that it slides in from the left. The reason why I had it sat a little on the scene at the beginning, is that the effect is slow, so this makes it speed up as it has less distance to travel.

The idea is the action above in blue is triggered and the banner slide from the left on the stage. Another button is pressed and the Red action is triggered sliding off the stage. But once the motion effect has been run, it does not seem to hide, leave the end of the rounded rectangle visible on the stage.

I tried to adjust the break lines in the buttons that trigger these actions further pushing them to the bottom of the timeline, but it has no effect. I actually expected to start the path and then hide the shape so fast, that you wouldn't see in fact a large part of the effect as when stocks advanced spear they are super fast.

Am I missing something or is this just a limitation with effects using advanced Actions?

You have a misunderstanding about the actions. All orders in a fast action are executed in sequence, but immediately. The effects also have a duration, you don't say how long you have applied.  Can you post a screenshot of the timeline? Have you checked the length of the path, is it enough? You do this using the same temporal effects. BTW, I often apply such an effect using micronavigation instead of applying it. In my last blog, you can see an example:

  • Captivate 9 - How to add multiple actions to a button

HI all, on Captivate 9 I have created a status display slide with four buttons, so when the user clicks on each button, they will see different content.

I want to force the navigation to make sure that the user clicks on THE 4 buttons (in order that), before being able to see the button "NEXT" will appear on the screen that will allow them to move to the next slide.

I think I need to create variables and stocks advanced on each button to create this logic, but how do I add additional actions on the same button? Under 'The ACTION', I see that all the buttons have an action to open the contents of the status display when you click on:

    action-captivate.jpg

Is it possible to add another action to the same button?  Please share instructions to help me create the logic to do this? Thank you very much.

You need user variables and conditional action with two decision for each of your buttons. I posted this workflow many times, but it's so hard to find the wire. Another try:

    1. Create 4 variables v_one, v_two... v_four with a default value of 0. they will be changed to 1 when the user clicks on the associated button.
    2. Create a conditional advanced action for each button, with two decisions:
      1. First decision 'Always' is a standard simulated action
IF 1 is equal to 1
        Assign the v_one with 1
Change the State of...             the action that you had one this time
      2. Second decision "CheckVars".
IF v_one is equal to 1 AND
        v_two is equal to 1...
        ....
        is equal to 1
        See the Bt_Next
        Select Bt_Next

Create a similar action to each button, only the first decision will have to be modified (the variable and the state change).

The Bt_Next button should be hidden in the output to start with. Don't forget to define points of suspension of the 4 buttons at this very moment. For the next button, you can have a break at the same time or later.

  • Why use Edge animate in Captivate 9?

    Hello

I am VERY new to Captivate and most Adobe products and am not a web developer or programmer.  I learned how to use 9 CAptivate and understand you can do advanced animations (and more with the function of calendar in the working area).  However, I recently took a course (a pretty good on the site Adobe know-how) on sensitive site, building 8, Captivate and the instructor used edge animate to do something similar.  I do not understand that Edge animate has other uses and has more features that advanced in Captivate 9 animations, but if I want to only produce a little advanced animations and simple movements, I use Edge animate to do this?  I guess what I'm trying to understand where are the limits to capabilites animation Captivate 9 against Edge animate?

    Thank you!

Animate edge can create animations and "was" considered to be the alternative for Flash animations at the start of the hype of HTML5. However, Edge animate is more will continue during development, the month next Flash Pro will be renamed CC animate and will be able to post files OAM, as Edge host used to do. Captivate has the ability to embed animations such as you can embed animated GIF (old but still functional to both output SWF and HTML5) as well. However, it must be aware of the fact that there is no communication between these animations and Captivate, unless you know JavaScript. Such communication is possible using widgets.

Since you are new, I often have problems with the terminology. You want simple movements in Captivate 9? Use the effects of movement, much easier to create and manage than to try to do it with another application. The effects are possible in Captivate, no need for another application at all. What do you mean by "advanced animations? If explain you it, maybe I can also offer you an alternative to animate dashboard? I used it with Captivate 8, but right now, I'm perfectly happy with what's available in Captivate. Edge Animate has (d) the possibility of incorporating some code snippets (JS) or write your own code. Captivate has advanced actions, shared stocks and you can also launch the JavaScript code. I don't think Edge animate has 'more' feature if you want to create Captivate e-Learning courses! Or do you have another goal?
