I tried several times and it never works. I had more on my computer before, but my computer crashed and I lost the programs so I'll try to get back them.   Normally when you bought a Creative Suite license is good for one platform or the other, but not both.  Although you may have had some special license for school agreement.

  When you start the installation of your cs3 and enter your serial number for cs3, the installer should detect it is a update the serial number and you present a list of products (where you could have improved) eligible.

  Select the previous product (what you own) and you will be asked for the serial number of the previous product.

  Enter the correct number at the right time and to proceed with the installation.
