STOP: 0X0000009F

I get a blue screen with STOP: 0x0000009F (followed by a variety of other code) by playing games, Microsoft, usually after that I used a browser (explore, Firefox or Opera).  This started about 5 months ago and is spending more and more frequently. Today 3 times--so much dropped with mini-games. Same thing happens on my laptop (Windows 7) that is 3 months old.

SO frustrating & none of MS to suggest a solution!

Any help welcome

Hello

References to Vista also apply to Windows 7.

Updated drivers, BIOS and software control (if any) is a good idea.

This is my generic how updates of appropriate driver:

For drivers, visit manufacturer of emergency system and of the manufacturer of the device that are the most common.
Control Panel - device - Graphics Manager - note the brand and complete model
your video card - double - tab of the driver - write version information. Now, click on update
Driver (this can do nothing as MS is far behind the certification of drivers) - then right-click.
Uninstall - REBOOT it will refresh the driver stack.

Repeat this for network - card (NIC), Wifi network, sound, mouse, and keyboard if 3rd party
with their own software and drivers and all other main drivers that you have.

Now in the system manufacturer (Dell, HP, Toshiba as examples) site (in a restaurant), peripheral
Site of the manufacturer (Realtek, Intel, Nvidia, ATI, for example) and get their latest versions. (Look for
BIOS, Chipset and software updates on the site of the manufacturer of the system here.)

Download - SAVE - go to where you put them - right click - RUN AD ADMIN - reset after each
installation.

Always check in the Device Manager - drivers tab to be sure the version you actually install
presents itself. This is because some restore drivers before the most recent is installed (sound card drivers
in particular that) so to install a driver - reboot - check that it is installed and repeat as
necessary.

Repeat to the manufacturers - BTW on device at the DO NOT RUN THEIR SCANNER - manually check by model.

Look at the sites of the manufacturer for drivers - and the manufacturer of the device manually.

How to install a device driver in Vista Device Manager
http://www.Vistax64.com/tutorials/193584-Device-Manager-install-driver.html

If you update the drivers manually, then it's a good idea to disable the facilities of driver in the Windows updates,
This leaves ONE of Windows updates, but it will not install the drivers who are generally older and cause
questions. If updates offers a new driver and then hide it (right click on it) and then go look for new ones
manually if you wish.

This "might" be a power problem, even if this isn't the most common cause - in this case
It seems that the PSU could be the fault.

9F is probably a driver issue. Security/antivirus/antispware programs can also cause these issues.
Have you added the recent devices or the updated drivers - don't forget to check in the Windows updates to see

    Cause

Frequently, you can determine the cause of the error status (parameter 2) KERNEL_DATA_INPAGE_ERROR bug check. Some common status codes are:

    • 0xC000009A or STATUS_INSUFFICIENT_RESOURCES, indicates a lack of non-paged pool resources.
    • 0xC000009C or STATUS_DEVICE_DATA_ERROR, generally indicates bad blocks (sectors) on the hard disk.
    • 0xC000009D or STATUS_DEVICE_NOT_CONNECTED, indicates defective or loose wiring, termination or that the controller does not see the hard drive.
    • 0xC000016A or STATUS_DISK_OPERATION_FAILED, indicates bad blocks (sectors) on the hard disk.
    • 0xC0000185 or STATUS_IO_DEVICE_ERROR, indicates improper termination or defective cabling devices SCSI or two trying to use the same IRQ.

These status codes are common ones that have specific causes. For more information about other possible status codes that can be returned, see the Ntstatus.h file in the operating system Microsoft Windows Driver Kit (WDK).

Another common cause of this error message is the defective material or failing RAM.

A virus infection can also cause this bug check.

    Solve the problem

Solve a problem of bad block: Generally, a status I/O of 0xC000009C or 0xC000016A code indicates that the data can not be read from the disk due to a bad block (sector). If you can restart the computer after the error, Autochk runs automatically and tries to map the bad sector so that it is more used.

If Autochk does not scan the hard disk for errors, you can manually start the disk scanner. Run Chkdsk /f /r on the system partition. You must restart the computer before the start of the analysis of disk. If you cannot start the computer due to the error, use the Recovery Console and run Chkdsk/r.

Warning  If your system partition is formatted with the FAT file system the long file names that use the Windows operating system could be damaged if you use Scandisk or another MS-DOS-based disk tool to verify the integrity of your hard disk from MS-DOS. Always use the version of Chkdsk that matches your version of Windows.

Solve a defective hardware problem: If the State of e / is C0000185 and the paging file is on a SCSI disk, check the cabling and SCSI termination for problems.

Solve a problem RAM failure: Run the hardware diagnostics feeding by the system manufacturer, especially the memory scanner. For more information about these procedures, see the manual of your computer.

Check that all the cards in the computer are well calibrated. Use an ink eraser or electrical contact treatment, available in electronic supply stores, to ensure the adapter card contacts are clean.

Check the system log in Event Viewer for additional error messages that might help identify the device that is causing the error. You can also disable caching memory BIOS to try to resolve this error.

Make sure that the latest Windows Service Pack is installed.

If the previous steps do not resolve the error, take the system motherboard to a repair for the diagnostic facility. A crack, a scratched trace, or a defective component on the motherboard can cause this error.

Solve an infection by the virus: Search your computer for viruses using any update, commercial software that examines the Master Boot Record of the disk hard antivirus. All systems of Windows files can be infected by viruses.

  • help, BSOD 0x0000009F!

I saw many items, to try to fix this and it wouldn't work on my laptop.

    I use a Lenove Thinkpad Edge E430c

    I had this BSOD error:
    DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE
    STOP: 0X0000009F (0 X 00000003, 0X864B9908, 0X833419E0, 0X9A99BC28)

The last thing I did was update my cd/dvd driver. My laptop cannot read any cd, so what I did is to update its driver automatically using program windows 7 that updates your drivers and it worked! I can read CDs and DVDs now, but that's when the BSOD has started. When I tried to check my cd/dvd driver, she'll tell me that everything is fine.

the BSOD will appear at random and not when I try to restart or shutdown my laptop.

I hope someone could help :)

Send a copy of your dump file in a shared file on your disc of sky with a link here.

The dump file will be created in c:\windows\minidump. You may need to change your settings in Windows to be able to view the file. To show hidden files type Folder Options in the search box above the Start button and select view advanced settings and check that the box "display files and folders" and 'Hide protected operating system files' are not checked. You may need to scroll down to see the second element. You should also make sure that the box before "Hide extensions of known file types" is not checked.

What is your computer brand and model? If not a branded computer, what is your motherboard brand and model?

Please download and run the display driver and download a copy of the report he produced on your sky player. To obtain a report all drivers Select Edition, select all followed by file, save selected items.
    http://www.NirSoft.NET/utils/DriverView.html

Please provide a copy of your system information file. Type system information in the search box above the Start button and press the ENTER key (alternative is select Start, all programs, accessories, System Tools, system information). Select file, Export and give the file a name noting where it is located. The system creates a new information file system each time system information is available. You must allow a minute or two before the file is completely filled before exporting a copy. Please download your disk from sky to share with everyone and post a link here. Please say if the report was obtained in safe mode. The request for a copy of this file is additional to answer the question about the brand and the model.

We need the DMP file because it contains the single record of the sequence of events that led to the accident, what drivers have been loaded, and what has been loaded.

WE NEED AT LEAST TWO FILES DMP TO SPOT TRENDS AND TO CONFIRM THE DIAGNOSIS.
You may be able to get the DMP files without crashing by booting in SafeMode (F8) with networking.
If you are overclocking stop.  (chances are that if you are unsure if you are, you are not)
To allow us to help you with symptoms BSOD on your computer, download the contents of your folder "\Windows\Minidump".

  • 9F Win7 STOP after the rest of the hibernation

    Hello

I am running Windows 7 Ultimate 64 - bit SP1 on an Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 at stock 3 GHz 6 GB RAM DDR2-800 (5.25 GB usable) and an AMD 7850 2 GB. Gfx card motherboard is ASUS P5K. OS disk is a 120 GB of Corsair SSD Force - GT via the integrated Intel ICH9 SATA Intel controlled v9.1.9.1002 storage controller.

Usually, I simply SLEEP my camera (hybrid sleep mode) at the end of the day and wake up in the morning for a quick start. Timed hibernation is disabled to save wear and tear on the SSD.

Today, I decided to Hibernate my machine that I had to turn the power off and didn't want to lose my work space. All right.
I wake it back up again and walked away while he took over and when I came back I was watching a BSOD STOP 0x0000009F.

I installed the windows debugging tools and symbols of Win 7 SP1 retail but WinDbg always complain "your debugger does not use appropriate symbols".

I also downloaded the file minidump here: www.cool-breeze.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/070513-16146-01.dmp

Could some kind soul if you please help me understand what caused blue screen please?

Guidance on how to get the debugger works correctly on my machine will also graciously accepted!

    Hello

The attached DMP is the bugcheck DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE (9f).

This error occurs if the drivers do not manage applications of transition from State power properly, usually during one of the following procedures: stop, suspend or exit from sleep, suspend or resume from hibernation mode.

It seems to be faulty hcw95bda.sys which is the driver of Tuner Hauppauge MOD7700. See if the updates for it are available here - http://www.hauppauge.com/site/support/support.html

If not, remove your TV Tuner card temporary for repairs (I assume that's what it's a driver for).

If we run one! IRP on the IRP address blocked, we get the following:

    Args: 00000000 00000000 00000000 00000000
    [16, 0] 0 fffffa8006082440 0 fffff88006802cc8 00000000-00000000
    \Driver\usbhub hcw95bda
    Args: 00000000 00000000 00000000 00000002
    > [16, 2] 0 1 fffffa8006ddda40 00000000 00000000-00000000 pending
    \Driver\hcw95bda
    Args: 00051100 00000001 00000001 00000002
    [16, 2] 0 e1 fffffa8006df8270 00000000 00000000-00000000 pending
    \Driver\ksthunk

As you can see, the two drivers listed here:

    1. the only one I listed above.

2 ksthunk.sys - Kernel Streaming WOW64 Thunk Service. Probably collide with your TV Tuner card driver.

Things that must also be taken in charge:

    1. your ASACPI.sys (Asus ATK0110 ACPI Utility (a well-known manufacturer of BSOD in Win7 and Win8). Also, a part of the many utilities Asus) is dated 2005. I recommend that either all the utilities Asus update you and or DELETE them.

    2. your RTKVHD64.sys (Realtek High Definition Audio function Driver) is dated 2007. Check the updates here - http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/downloadsView.aspx?Langid=1&PNid=8&PFid=14&Level=3&Conn=2

You can see the site of Asus as well.

    Kind regards

    Patrick

    Hi chubble10,

    Method 1
I suggest you try the steps from the following links:

Both times I wasn't on the computer when it happened.  He added that to CHECK ANY NEW HARDWARE or SOFTWARE.  THE DRIVER POWER STATE FAILURE.  REVIEW DISABLEING BIOS MEMORY OPTIONS CACHING OR SHADING. STOP 0X0000009F. First time I rebooted just computer that I had not added new software or hardware.  Itried a sytem restore to earlier date, but there was Aproblem with IE file jsdebuggeride.dll that prevented the restoration. • Qosmio G50 will not complete the installation of Windows 7 64 bit

    Hello world!

I recently wanted to updated my Qosmio G50 - 12f 32-bit from vista to 7 ultimate 64-bit. I did a clean install: formatted the c partition.

Everything seemed to work fine until the screen "Setup is preparing your computer for first use. At first, I thought it froze just would not go further. Back to zero (in all modes) would get the same effect.
But to my surprise and pleasure, she managed to pass this point when I desperately wanted to wait long enough for a miracle to happen. But the problems remain. The configuration process is right! REALLY! slow. I could painfully spend the first screens, like enter the name of the computer, activation screen, modes of security, but with a very long wait time between each. And every time he reaches this final screen of security modes that she would suddenly go to a BSOD:

    Driver power state failure
    STOP 0x0000009F (0xFFFFFA800193DD70, 0xFFFFF80000B9C518, 0 x 0000000000000003, 0xFFFFFA80029C8610)

Please, anyone have any ideas on how to solve this problem?

Of course, there should be a driver problem, but how do I update all the drivers without operating system running? I've seen such a feature in the repair of the installation DVD section, but it accepts only .inf files.
And I can t find those anywhere on the toshiba support website. Only the .exe that you run from your operating system that is already running.

In any case the Qosmio G50 was not as incompatible with 7-64 bit. So I'm a little confused here!

    Please help ^ ^
