stop the windows media player to automatically go into full-screen mode

How can I stop windows media player to automatically enter full screen mode whenever I have to read a DVD.

There was an error in the original question - it should have read "whenever I have to Insert a DVD.   In any case I solved this problem of turing option to automatically read the DVD under Autoplay

That answers my question.   However since I can not mark my own responses posts I would be very grateful if a community moderator would mark this message as a.

  • stop the Windows media player 11 to play without apparent reason

In recent weeks, my Windows Media Player 11 has been rather eccentric. Sometimes (and apparently with increasing frequency) WMP stop just playing the track, I'm playing, it does seem to be some tracks and occurs only with files Mp3. I have updated codecs and WMP itself was already perfectly up to date as much as WMP 11 can be updated. The system is not 'suspended' and I don't have any problem reading Mp3 Zune player. I don't know why it does this, it gets worse and worse still, at first it was once a few everyday now its several times a day. I did spies and antivirus software and found nothing.

I am running Windows Vista 64-bit with SP2 and all other updates are current as well as for Windows and installed everything.
    Motherboard: Asus M4A785-M
    Audio use onboard VIA VT1708S
    8 GB of system RAM
1.2 TB of free hard drive space (checked to find errors, also using the sd card to play MP3s from and still has this problem)
If the thing is needed let me know.
    Thank you!
Edit: I forgot to mention that before this WMP started getting lag to load anything, I load wmp and the video or music does not start for about 10 seconds. All other works very well with no latency.

  • How can I prevent Windows Media Player and other programs exit full screen when they lose focus?

What I would do to prevent the release of the mode full-screen when it loses focus after another object with the focus on the main Windows Media Player display and other programs on a secondary display? In addition, the object on the secondary screen, whether full-screen mode or not, will disappear for a second and reveal the desktop background whenever I have use Aero Peek to select items in the taskbar on the main screen. How would prevent that from happening as well?

  • the Windows media player 12 switches back on small screen while watching DVDs

WMP 12 fine plays the DVD, but after 6 minutes it switches back on a small screen and I have to click the button again to view full screen.  This happens throughout the entire video and on any dvd movie that I play.  does anyone have a suggestion?  Thank you.

I used to get this [as did many others on the forum], but this isn't a symptom of failure.  You just need to adjust some settings.

    1. open WMP

2 press alt - t for the Menu bar, menu Tools then uncheck allow screensaver during playback & click OK.  [Note that, if sometimes you want it to work, then you have to modify manually every time, I fear].

3 press alt + v to get the Menu bar, menu display.  Place your cursor above the video size, the last item in the list.  Click on the made video to player on resize to oppose a tick of this element.

4 press alt + v to get the Menu bar, menu display.  Place your cursor above the video size, the last item in the list.  Click Mount video drive to oppose a tick of this element.

Yes, I know that sounds illogical.

That's all you need to do.

  • Is - it there anyway that I could stop the windows media player 11 is the software default to listen to music?

Hi, I just brought a new vista. and frankly, I'm not happy with WMP 11, no offense, I liked 10 and 9, but 11 offers not only the things that I need a music player. So, I installed another software and tried to set it as the default player for mp3 files and so on. but the strange it is, whenever I try to change the default, it just goes back to WMP 11, no matter how many ways I've tried. I use "right click" the file and modify the program by default, it did not work. I went to "start" - "default programs" - "set your default progames", I can not still tick 'mp3' out of the list. ""  Then I tried "associate a file type" - then mp3 associated with another program, it seemed normal for the first time. but then when I tried to open another mp3 file, it just goes back to WMP 11 new.

I really have to use WMP 11 to play songs? at the least, help me to roll back to WMP 10 please.

    Hello

Right-click on any Mp3 song. Under properties, there will be an option "open with." Click on the button 'change '. Then choose the desired program and check "always use this program to open this type of file.

    I hope this helps.

    Hi kari skeins.

You can re-create the database of Windows Media Player and see if that fixes the problem. Follow these steps:

    (a) output Windows Media Player.

    (b) click Start, type %LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft\Media Player, and then click OK.

(c), select all the files in the folder and then click on Delete on the file menu.

Note: You don't have to remove the folders that are in this folder.

    (d) restart Windows Media Player.

Note: Windows Media Player automatically rebuilds the database.

If this does not resolve the problem, disable the Windows Media Player database cache files. To do this, follow these steps:

    (a) output Windows Media Player.

    (b) click Start, type %LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoftand then click OK.

    (c) select the folder Media Player and then click on Delete on the file menu.

    (d) restart Windows Media Player.

  • Cannot add album art in the windows media player 11

I used to put album art on mp3 manually files with advanced tag editor and I had no problem, but all of a sudden (I won't change anything in the configuration) it stopped, not even a message... When I drag any image of the album (which is not playing), it always creates the folder.jpg and albumartsmall.jpg files but it shows thumbnails of coverage associated with each file, and when I go again to tag editor advanced is as I din't put the lid in it, so it shows the coverage only for the information of the album but not for every song of it and I'd like to see the covers in the solution once again Explorer. I don't have the media player connected to the internet, but this is not the problem... Any suggestions?

  • Songs do not appear in the Windows Media Player library

WIndows Media Player 12 adding not songs

I got my new PC with Windows 7 this afternoon and more than 10,000 songs completely copied into the My Music folder.  None of these songs will appear in the library of Windows Media Player 12 songs. My Music folder is one of the libraries of WMP to default save location.  Only 3 songs are appearing in the library, and those are the three on the Public Music folder.  Yet when I add a song to the public music folder, it is added to the library. Then when I close WMP, and re - open, we are back to 3 original songs!  I spent an hour with HP support tonight and didn't get anywhere.  I tried the system restore.  I tried to restore the library.  I think that my WMP is maybe damaged.  Any thoughts on what I'm missing here?

I read this on another topic, try it.
