Storage media player uses?

Hi you all,.

I updated my old HPa610n, office from Vista/32 bit to a more recent HPp6320y, Win7/64 bit & I was wondering if I can still use my old pocket-sliding support delivered disk pre-installed with my old HP/32-bit Vista, w / my new improved W/7, 64-bit?
The multimedia Pocket Player has storage 160 G I would use to return to the top/shadow/from my new O.S. Win7 64 bit HPp6320y
How many concerts a backup/shadow O.S take?

Also, since I deleted all the old restore & backup points, Pocket Media Player can hold now is 160G max.capacity & I was considering devoting all 160G for "Ready Boost" but, I don't know if there is a limit to how much ready boost you you can use, or does depend the size of some drv USB storage. you choose to use for "Ready Boost"? I read a few messages indicating that a win/7, System 64-bit can only use 8Gs for readyboost and that all storage w/top of the device is a waste.
Can anyone shed some light on this for me? Firstly, I just want to use it to store important data in the event of hard drive failure, and on the other hand I wouldn't mind a bit of extra ram if necessary. (I have already 8G of ram, and my system can take another card to max w/one another remember 8Gs.)

Thank you very much for any advice, boulonman

You should contact HP support to see if it is compatible with the new HP model.

In addition, depending on the amount of data that you have installed, it should be enough create a backup of your installation. Windows 7 uses about 8 to 10 GB of disk space, more your applications and personal data that can quickly exceed 16 GB.

To effectively use Readyboost, Windows 7 1.7 GB of space is recommended and will have a limit determined for your drive.

Personally, I recommend, because you have 8GBs of RAM, if you want a system that works very well, invest in an SSD, you won't regret.

You can connect the device and the computer via a USB cable.

    1. Insert the memory card in the camera.

  • Why windows guide media is missing from windows media player using windows 8?

Windows icon is not on my windows media player why not am I missing something? I like listening to the radio stations on the list.

Why was the link to the deleted Media Guide site?  You broke something which worked well - nice work MSFT.

Agree with Elroy - navigate to the "... windowsmedia.com" is simply another stage that was not necessary in the past.

There is a partial solution.  1. go to the wondowsmedia.com site.  2. an internet radio station, click on listen--> WMP should open and start playing the station.  3. in WMP, on the right side, drop down and click "view list".  Must be the name of the radio station.  4 save the Radio station list (will appear in the playlists in the future).  5. While you listen to other stations, you can click with the right button on the station name in the window of the list and add it to your playlist registered.  6. your saved playlist (Internet radio) becomes your link to play directly from WMP.

Again, not a full solution (it cannot browse stations w / in WMP), but if you have some Favorites, above is a way to hear directly from WMP.

Can I use windows media player to play mp3 and have the recigition speech to convert to text?

You can get on a conversion of 70% in reading a file in Windows Media Player using something like Dragon Naturally Speaking to convert. If you set the playback speed to slow in Windows Media Player to play > play speed, you will get a better result. The best option is to download the file to an audio transcription service, but which generally costs 0, 50-1, 00 per minute of audio.

  • Windows media player 11 on downloaded videos error "cannot read drive file does not support the file type or does not take in charge the codec used to compress the file.

    • now that the full version of k'lite seems to stop what is happening why hasent windows incorporated something similar in the windows media player 11, or they have another type of codec full, we can use to make this.only so many people have the same problem .please can help you.

    Hi bbdunford,

Windows Media Player cannot play the file. The player might not support the file type or does not support the codec used to compress the file.

You may encounter this error message for the following reasons:

    (a) the file type is supported by the drive, but the file was compressed by using a codec that is not supported by the player.

    (b) the file might have been encoded with a codec that is not supported by Windows Media Player. If this is the case, Windows Media Player cannot play the file.

Windows media player will play only the files and videos only if it supports this type of file.

    Method 1

Check if the video file format is supported by Windows media player using the link below.

Information on the types of media files that supports Windows Media Player

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/316992

If the files are not supported by Windows media player, then you will need to use a few players from third party that supports this file format.

    Method 2

See the link below for more information on the codec.

  • Sync on Windows Media Player

I'm trying to sync in Windows Media Player using an SD memory card and also I tried to use the storage Flash Drive (USB).  I clicked the sync up, but there is no recognition of the other.  I've refreshed but without success.  I've wound up Media Player and open again with success.  How can I synchronize to these storage units?

    Hi jchannah,

1 what the flash card or SD card has been recognized by Windows?

2 have you tried sync with these devices?

First of all, you need to configure the device to sync in windows media player.

    For more information see:http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/knowledgecenter/howto/mp11/sync.aspx

If you can not sync in Media player then try the manual synchronization.

  • Dazzle media player player.

    Hey people,

I was wondering how to get the pictures from my memory card on my Media Player using Dazzle high-speed usb drive? Thanks for your time.

    Hi Richard,

Welcome to the Microsoft Community and forums thanks for posting the question.

Looks like you need assistance in the transfer of the files of photos from memory card to media player.

When you play a media file on your computer or a removable storage device (Flash drive, etc.), the file is automatically included in the Player library, so you can access it directly from the player.

I suggest you try to synchronize the flash player manually in Windows Media Player and see if it helps:

You can see the below links for more information.

  • Strange problem with Toshiba Express Media Player on Satellite M115-S3094

I am facing a strange problem in my Toshiba M115-S3094, which has been pre-installed with Windows XP Media Center edition and which also had the Toshiba Express Media Player.

I had already done a clean install of Vista on it, and then I decided to go back to XP with my recovery DVDs. I did the same procedures of first installation Express Media Player to backup (that I did when I bought the laptop) and then installing Windows XP DVD de Toshiba Recovery XP.

    The steps included:
1 deleted recovery Express media player disk partitions
    2. installed express media player
3 extracted Xp Recovery DVD, by selecting 'Recover without changing the Partitions' (there is no expert mode)

Everything was fine (i.e. installation)... But now, after the turning off my laptop I press the Express Media Center button, the logo "Express Media Player" appears on the screen after loading of closures of laptop for 5 seconds.

I tried to open it again and again, but the logo is displayed for 5 seconds and then my laptop stop...

Laptop works fine when I connect to windows by pressing the power button / stop.

Can someone help me on this strange question... ?

    Hello

The whole story is a bit confusing
First of all, I would like to know if your laptop is already preinstalled with the Media Express Player and if you were able to use it on your laptop in the past.

    Now something about the Express Media Player installation;
In order to use the media functions Express the Mediaplayer Express Recovery CD must be performed before performing the recovery from the recovery DVD-ROM products.

In addition, on the HARD drive should at least 150-200 MB of free space available.
This free space must be on the end of the HARD drive and there must be unallocated. To get these free space on party products 3rd HARD drive should be used as Partitions Magic 8.

I m not 100% sure that on error ID system badly but maybe it corresponds to the DMI evil information stored on the motherboard. If we're not DMI, you will not be able to reinstall Express Media player using the recovery media express CD.
In the DMI must be set properly the manufacturing: Toshiba, product name: for example by Satellite M115-S30

Finally and most importantly, I found this thread useful forum on the Media Express recovery procedure:

  • WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER... Missing codecs

My windows media player use to play DVD & VCD but now missing the codec so can't watch these now. Download the codecs but them uninstalled as apparently do IE, Media Player etc unstable. Is anyone able to help with this please... Thanks :)

    Hello

Thanks for posting in this forum. I understand that DVD is not playing in Windows media player, installed some codecs but these codecs were Internet Explorer unstable. Let us know if it's the misunderstanding of the question.

A codec is a software to compress or decompress a digital media file, such as a song or a video. Windows Media Player and other programs use codecs to play and create digital media files.

A codec can consist of two components: an encoder and a decoder. The encoder performs the compression function (coding) and the decoder performs the decompression function (decoding). Some codecs include both components and some codecs only one of them.

For example, when you rip a song from an audio CD on your computer, the player uses the default Windows Media Audio codec to compress the song into a compact WMA file. When you play that WMA file (or any WMA file that may be broadcast from a Web site), the player uses the codec Windows Media Audio to decompress the file for music can be played through your speakers.
