Storage of videos on WVC54GCA

I have a WVC54GCA.  The question I have is: where is stored the video of movement is detected.  Is it stored in the device or computer connected to it?  It requires the computer linked to be on and and the utility software for video capture?

Joe

When you enable motion detection on your computer and select the e-mail option, then its not necessary to connect your computer to the camera or to the router, it will automatically detect the motion and video to your e-mail by e-mail account.

You can set up motion detection on the device by the Camera Utility or by logging in the Configuration page of the camera.

But if you enable registration on your camera with the help of the Linksys Camera Utility, then your computer must always be connected to the router, so that it can store all the videos stored on your computer.

  • Video editing with an external hard drive

I just bought a MacBook Pro, 8 GB Ram, 128 GB SSD. I know he will give first for my needs very well, but the size of the hard drive is not ideal for the storage of video. I have two old 1 TB hard drives, one from an old computer that died and another through a mix to the top (long story), a Western Digital, the other Hitachi HGST, but both run at 5400 RPM / MIN. I know this isn't an ideal speed for video editing, but I wonder if there is a way to use one of them as a drive externally (with the appropriate forum) as a video editing platform. I also read a lot about Raid being ideal for video editing, but I admit I don't know much on not the Raid beyond what I read in brief article works. I also have a cheap Toshiba external 300 GB hard drive.

Is it possible to use effectively the foregoing as an external video source? Together or individually. I appreciate all the advice on the issue, but please do not suggest buy a new hard drive of any kind, my budget is very tight right now.

    Thank you!

According to the media, if its very strongly compressed mp4 files you can get away with using a single 1 to 5400 RPM drive in an external enclosure. If the media is higher bitrate, you may need to use a box that can contain 2 or more drives and offers raid 0. If you go with a bigger case, as one who holds 4hdd or more, look who he has raid 5. raid 0 will attempt to double the speed of the two hard disks 1 to. You then have to find one that can connect to your computer, in your budget. Thunderbolt, esata or usb 3.0 are common options, according to who will use your macbook pro.

  • MSFT Flight Simulator 2004

I want to run Flight Simulator 2004 on my laptop. The game requires Windows XP and has relatively modest processor, storage and video requirements by today's standards, so I guess that my laptop is up to the task. I have a 64 bit Lenovo X140e (may 2013 or 2014 model with certainly enough computing power and storage to run FS 2004). He currently runs Windows 10.

My plan is to partition my hard drive to install Windows XP or Windows 7 to launch FS 2004 on that partition, with 10 windows on the other partition my new programs running.  My questions:

Stupid project? If so, why, and is there a better way to accomplish what I'm doing?

A post previous re: FS 2004 has indicated that it is necessary to determine if my FS 32-bit version or a 64-bit. How do I know if my version of FS is 32-bit or 64-bit? It does not say on the package or inserts, and since I can't get the game to run, I paint a white.  FS2004 made even in a 64-bit version?

I'd be better to just buy an old computer with Windows XP or Win 7? (I heard that Windows 7 can run Windows XP games). Thank you

There is a problem (at least) two with your plan.

You will find it difficult to get a legitimate copy of Windows XP or Windows 7.

Even if you find or you already have a retail copy of one, it seems that Lenovo offers not all drivers for Windows XP.  It seems that there are Windows 7 drivers: http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/products/Laptops-and-netbooks/ThinkPad-X-Series-laptops/ThinkPad-X140e?tabName=Downloads&linkTrack=Mast:SubNav:Support:Drivers % 20and % 20Software | drivers % 20and % 20Software & beta = false

If you manage to find a copy of Windows 7 Professional, or buy a computer with Windows 7 Pro already installed (probably about the same price), you can download the Microsoft XP Mode (https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=8002) and install FS 2004 in the virtual machine.  There is, however, no guarantee that XP Mode works for FS.  Microsoft offers XP Mode for businesses that want to upgrade to Windows 7, but still had management software requires XP.  A decent graphics card was not a problem, and the virtual graphics card in XP Mode is a map of "S3 Trio 32/64" SVGA: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/833144

Your configuration above doesn't seem to be HP "stock".

The answer to your question is Yes.  You can redirect "MY" folders type for a second hard drive with your own special storage folders. This post is a typical example of how to move 'MY' Windows folder.  That's how I separate "MY" folders of data storage (my videos, my music, my documents, my pictures, my downloads).  I also put the Contacts folder and Favorites on the data reader.

    ElviraKate,

Thank you for using the Dell Community Forum.

You can uninstall if you do not want to use this software. Here's what this software is intended for your computer.

SyncUP desktop application is a service platform for Dell to the new generation of mobile phones. SyncUP allows the user to play music files, ideally more to manage and create playlists. The user can read photos and videos directly on the PC with all the convenience of a built-in player. SyncUP also allows the user to create their own collections of album for photos and videos. The user can get an overview of all collections in a slideshow mode.

SyncUP automatically shrinks the video clips that require only a fraction of the storage space, video resolution dedicated to watch on a handset and also transcode to a format that is supported by your device. There is no need to worry about resolution format, codecs and video files.

Taking the advantage of the iTunes integration of bookstores, the user can also read iTunes playlists and manage media content without running the two applications together.

  • Drive Windows Media (.wmv file) stored in the Temp folder

When I download a wmv file, I gives me the opportunity to open the file with Windows Media Player or save the file.  Lately, I've been open files in the player, assuming that, once they play, they are stored in my 'Temp' folder and empty when I delete the folder.  I was also unpin the link in the drop down WMP.  So it was quite a surprise when my hard drive available space began to decline at an alarming rate. When I went to my folder 'Users', it was 43GB and the single folder with any real content was music with 17 GB file. Do a search for wmv files have no results, so I can only assume that there are 26 GB of 'Phantom' wmv files take place, but without any specific place in the folder "users". Given that the "Users" folder is recreated at startup, I deleted all the content, the following prompts to keep files essential and lean record for its actual content to 17.5 GB.  Now I just save the file, manage downloads and delete the files when they are needed.  Is this standard protocol used for the Media Player or is it possible to change the settings of the player?  Thanks for the help.

First of all - the C:\Users folder should not be deleted like this - several functions of the operating system back up here and you will cause a corruption of just trying to delete it all like that.

Second - temporary storage of videos open depends on what browser you use. If you are using Internet Explorer, they are stored under C:\Users\YourName\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\INetCache

    Chrome stores somewhere else.

To safely clean the files, use the built-in cleaning system program.  Press Windows + R to display the run box, type cleanmgr and click OK to start the cleaning Manager.

I don't want any uploaded photos, music or video to go to libraries on the default C:\ drive. How to load Windows 7 to do this? I want that music library on the m:\, the image on the drive P:\ library and the library of videos must be on the S:\ and I don't want music, photos or video libraries on my C:\ drive, can I get Windows 7 to do this?

    Hi Joseph

Libraries are virtual folders. They adopt any significant amount of space on the hard drive (the value by default 4 libraries use about 100 KB of disk space) and they don't use shortcuts. You can add a folder to the library and a library that contains 10 GB of files will use approximately 50 kilobytes of disk space.

The reason why they are named library is because they like the town library in your city that contains books from around the world.

The libraries provide a convenient way to view the files that are contained in many other cases and in many other places. You can view files in folders on other drives or, partitions and even network locations.

When you open a file in a library, you actually open the physical file in the folder that was added to the library. If you delete a file in a library, it will be removed from the physical folder.

Here are some links more information.

    Work with libraries:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/working-with-libraries

    Libraries: Frequently asked questions:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/libraries-frequently-asked-questions

    Libraries - Microsoft Windows:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/products/features/libraries

To free up disk space on the system (c) disk, you can move the physical folder (for example, My Documents, pictures, music, videos) that is included in a library to a different location.

    1. go on the target drive where you want to move the folder and create a new folder with the same name.

    2. on the C: drive, navigate to the folder that you want to move. Click on folder and select the tab properties/location.

    3. click on the move button and select the new folder that you created in the target drive.

See the following article for details.

  • Hi, windows 7 Disk Defragmenter problems daily schedule set for all discs, never happens, it sometimes takes weeks

Hi, windows 7 Disk Defragmenter problems daily schedule set for all discs, never happens, it sometimes takes weeks. Have a disk busy on the farm that is used for the storage of video surveillance. When I realize the performance issues, I check and find tht 'daily' Setup for MS disk defragmentation is not in fact run every day. I am watching silent movies and waiting for a 500 GB drive to effectively defragment, pass it is on average 1 percent per minute (with any other IO goes on the disc and app collection closed).

There must be (I hope) a flag I can put to Disk Defragmenter to be more aggressive in its analysis.

It is Windows 7 64 bit running on AMD processors, disks are sATA plugged in, although there is also a matrix RAID PCI Promise, it's usually when I started Hello I/O on the Board of 2 TB or utilization of the 'C', I realize the lack of defragmentation. I recall, before the SP1 under WIN 7, he ran on a daily basis, in fact, rather than an API algorith "guess".

System is in place 24 x 7 (I turn off the monitor at the time of sunset), there is no "powersaver" feature used on this particular device. I edited my original question because after many years of support, I realized, by asking the initial question, that I was not providing information that I would be asked a customer, if I was still doing this job.

    Kind regards

    Lorin Boyack

    Hello Lorin,

There are several reasons why the built-in Defragmenter may not work correctly:

Method 1: He is also a malware on the system. Solution: Run an anti-virus control and also a spyware check.

I suggest you scan your computer with the Microsoft Security Scanner, which would help us to get rid of viruses, spyware and other malicious software.

The Microsoft Security Scanner is a downloadable security tool for free which allows analysis at the application and helps remove viruses, spyware and other malware. It works with your current antivirus software.

    http://www.Microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspx

Note: The Microsoft Safety Scanner ends 10 days after being downloaded. To restart a scan with the latest definitions of anti-malware, download and run the Microsoft Safety Scanner again.

Important: During the scan of the hard drive if bad sectors are found, the scanner tries to repair this sector, all available on which data may be lost.

Method 2: The disk is too full (you need at least 15% free space, sometimes 20%). Solution: Delete files unnecessary and programs until you have more than 20% free space.

    Delete files using disk cleanup

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/delete-files-using-disk-cleanup

Method 3: The disc is damaged and must be repaired. Solution:

    a. open "Computer" and right-click on the drive that you want to disable frag.

    b. Select 'Properties' and click on 'tools '.

    c. Select "Check now" to check the drive for errors.

    d. Select the two options and click on 'start '.

Check your hard drive for errors

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/check-your-hard-disk-for-errors

Important: While running chkdsk (check disk) hard disk, if bad sectors are found on the hard drive when chkdsk attempts to repair this sector, the data available in this area may be lost, and it is not recoverable.

(This can take time and can restart the PC so that it can do the check at boot time. Be patient and let it complete).

Method 4: Disk Defragmenter may be corrupted, requiring a system restore to fix.

    System restore

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/products/features/system-restore

NOTE: When you use system restore to restore the computer to a previous state, the programs and updates that you have installed are removed.

Method 5: There are other programs that are running this interruption, the built-in Defragmenter. Solution:

    a. close all running programs.

    b. If you think there may be some programs that run in the background.

    c. press Ctrl + Alt + Delete and

    d. Select "start Task Manager".

    e. under the 'Applications' tab, you will find a list of all running applications - you can close these by selecting "end task."

Hope this information helps. For any other corresponding Windows help, do not hesitate to contact us and we will be happy to help you.

  • coumputer won't sleep

When I put my computer into sleep mode it will come back and stay in the mode 'sleep'.

    Hello RalphNiven,

To check this, why your system is not able to sleep or into hibernation, you check the following:
-Physically remove the computer USB devices
-Check if other devices are connected internally (by devmgmt.msc). If so, disable them in the (if possible) - if not, then disable them in devmgmt.msc
-Disable the WIFI network using the switch on the case.

Once all this is done, see if you can activate the sleep/hibernate mode.
If you can, then it is one of the devices you disable that is causing the problem.
If you still can not, then he will need further troubleshooting.

Most of the questions I've seen such revolve around the storage of video drivers drivers or chipset drivers. Make sure that you have them updated to the latest Windows 7 compatible versions.
