    You can revoke the granting of the PUBLIC. Of course, who can break any number of things, so you should have a decent amount of work to all of the privileges of law to all the patterns that would need to do.

    There are documents of Metalink who walk through it, but I know that you do not want to read the documentation.

  • Data migration from Oracle to SQL Server

    Hello

    I have the Oracle database in one or several table, I also blob data, i.e. images are stored, now I want to move that data to the sql server database, which is the best way to do this?

    I would like to test for a migration of the table that contains the image data in the Oracle database and invade the SQL Server table.

    How to test for an Oracle table data to SQL Server migration?

    But the first thing I want to confirm is that if the Image from Oracle DB to SQL Server DB data are possible? is there something must be supported during the migration?

    Thanks in advance.

    I think that it is supported. The equivalent data type in sql server is IMAGE/varbinary (max)

    See the bottom of the article for the mapping of data types:

  • Request from oracle to MySql using dblink read all rows in the table

    Hello
    I use the heterogeneous connectivity between oracle 10204 to the Mysql database.
    I have a database of link on the side of the oracle.
    I request a table in MySql with 10 million rows.

    His is not serious if I am running:
    ' Select * from ' CDR_Accounts"@mysql where 'id '= 7675405;
    or
    Select * from 'CDR_Accounts"@mysql;

    There is an index on the column id.
    It seems that the Mysql is feteching all rows in the table, all data is transferred to oracle on the dblink and only after the required lines are back to the client.

    The /etc/odbcinst.ini file is as follows:

  • Migrating from Oracle Enterprise Edition (11 g) for (11 g) Standard edition

    All,

    Please can I use the following methid to do the above migration:

    1. backup the database
    2 uninstall the software SE
    3. install the EA (possibly under Unix in a new ORACLE_HOME)
    4. If you have an existing database, point your ORACLE_SID on this pre-existing database
    5. starting the database
    6. run the scripts 'catalog.sql' and 'catproc.sql '.

    Thanks in advance.

    EA to itself? But you describe is EE. Aren't you?

  • How to convert MS SQL Server 2008 Stored Procedures of Oracle 11 g SPs?

    We have an application from MS SQL Server 2008. We want to migrate to Oracle 11 g.

    What is the recommended Oracle method for
    (1) migration of data (Tables, triggers, sequences, views etc..)
    (2) the stored Procedure migration.

    What is the recommended tool or method pls?

    We have 100s of MS Sql Server stored procedures. Then, needing a tool or method. We can rewrite all of them from scratch.

    Hello

    Let me clarify some of the issues that you mention. But I advise you to get some professional help with migration because:

    1. you must understand the architectural differences between SQL Server and Oracle. They are of different databases.
    2. understand data type mappings.
    3. understand the complete migration process. Just using the OTN article as a migration guide won't help because it just shows how use SQL Developer to this task.
    4. understand that 100% of successful Oracle conversion is not possible with all the tools. There will always be gaps, gaps in functionality, bugs etc. So there will be some amount of manual work involved.
    5. There are many other tasks involved in the migration that cannot be accomplished with SQL Developer.

    Get now your questions:

    1. in 3.1, there is migration option for the "capture of database in offline mode". It is under the Tools option. So in 3.1 we do not have a separate tab, called "Migration."
    2. use 3.1 because it is much better than 2.1 in terms of capabilities.
    3 migration Wizard is the easiest way to migrate. Where are you getting confused?
    4 "column data" seems to be a stored procedure in SQL Server. If it is not there in the underlying table, why he uses in the SQL statement in the procedure then? I think that we have a problem of "reserved word" with the name of column "Data". Will have to check that.
    5 VARCHAR (@max) must be mapped to VARCHAR2 (4000) in Oracle. It may be a bug in SQL Developer. So during the mapping of data type in the migration wizard, you can change the default mappings.

  • Execution of a stored procedure in a Package in an Oracle schema?

    I found solutions to guidance how to run stored procedures to an Oracle DB, for example http://blogs.oracle.com/adf/entry/call_db_stored_procedure_using.

    However, I have a database where procedures are in the packages and I want to know if there a way, that they can be run using enterprise Java Bean.

    See you soon.

    Published by: 893478 on October 27, 2011 05:46

    Calling stored procedures has nothing to do with the Enterprise Javabeans directly. What you want to do, is to use JDBC to create a callable statement and follow these steps:

         Connection conn = ...; // fetch from a datasource for example
         CallableStatement ps = conn.prepareCall("call PACKAGENAME.PROCEDURENAME(?,?,?)");

          ps.setString(1, "InputParam1");
          ps.setString(2, "InputParam2");
          ps.registerOutParameter(3, java.sql.Types.VARCHAR);

          ps.execute();
          String res = ps.getString(3);

    This example accepts two input parameters and an output parameter. Adapt to your own needs. And don't forget to add exceptions and a finally clause in which you close the statement and connection.

  • call a pl/sql stored procedure from a report link

    Hi all:

    I have a report with a link in a column, which you take to another page and passes the values to this page, but also need to link, run a stored procedure before you go to the other page.

    In the Forum, I found a case similar to this one, but none of the examples is clear to me that I'm doing this. It seems that the target of the link must be URL, and also I have to call the stored procedure with a javascript function.

    My questions are:
    -Is the best way to do what I need?
    -How should be the syntax of the link that takes me to another page and run the "procedure".
    -How and where I put the "javascript" function to execute the "stored procedure".

    BDD: Oracle 11 g
    Apex 4.1 version

    Best regards

    Gerard

    Hello

    Change the link to call an apex.submit procedure. (javascript).

    Edit:

    I created a basic example.

    Region 1 (just so that you can see the value ready):

    Select: P27_HIDDEN item_Value
    of the double

    Region 2:

    rownum SELECT id, dbms_random.string ('U', 12) sss
    of the double
    connect by level<=>

    element attributes for ID:

    Target: URL
    URL: javascript:apex.submit ({request: 'NAVIGATE', value: {'P27_HIDDEN': #ID #}});

    (P27_HIDDEN is just a hidden item I created)

    http://Apex.Oracle.com/pls/Apex/f?p=54920:27

    Edit2:

    In your case, then you can only have a page based on conditions request = expression1, expression1: NAVIGATE... then a branch of the page to go to the desired page, also with the same conditions

    Edit3:

    I'm not sure what examples you're talking about, that you provide no link; but you mention calling the stored procedure of javascript, so would probably involve some AJAX, but is not necessary IMO.

  • Create a stored procedure in the settings view

    I want to be able to create a view with the parameters of a stored procedure.

    Oracle 11g.

    don't know how to use the variable in immediate execution.

    CREATE OR REPLACE

    PROCEDURE TEST_GENERIC (TBL IN VARCHAR2, VWNAME IN VARCHAR2)

    AS

    BEGIN

    RUN IMMEDIATELY "CREATE OR REPLACE VIEW VWNAME AS SELECT SYSDATE FROM TBL";

    COMMIT;

    END;

    exec ('BIRD', 'DUAL') TEST_GENERIC

    Thanks for any help

    Hello

    Single quotes enclose a literal string; in other words, the text between the quotes literally means what it says, without reference to any variables.

    So, when you say:

    RUN IMMEDIATELY "CREATE OR REPLACE VIEW VWNAME AS SELECT SYSDATE FROM TBL";

    CREATE the word literally means to CREATE.  You may or may not have also a variable called CREATE, but that is irrelevant.

    The word OR means OR literally.  You may or may not have also a variable called operation GOLD, but that is irrelevant.

    REPLACE the word literally means REPLACE.  You may or may not have also a variable called to REPLACE, but that is irrelevant.

    ...

    The TBL Word literally means TBL.  You may or may not have also a variable called TBL, but that is irrelevant.

    If you want to reference a variable called TBL, then use TBL outside single quotes, like this:

    ...

    sql_text: = "CREATE or REPLACE VIEW VWNAME AS SELECT SYSDATE FROM '

    ||  TBL;

    dbms_output.put_line (sql_text |) "= sql_text before EXECUTE IMMEDIATE');   -For debugging

    EXECUTE IMMEDIATE sql_text.

    ...

    On the rare occasions when you use dynamic SQL statements, always put the dynamic SQL statement in a string variable (for example, sql_text, above) so that you can easily display for debugging purposes and to ensure that the command you are viewing is the same exact command that you should run.

    I guess the code you posted is a first test version of something that will be much, much different when it is finished.  Creating objects from database (such as views) in PL/SQL is almost always a terrible idea, and it seems that opinion that this code is attempting to produce would be very useful, anyway.

  • Problem with the stored procedure

    Hello everyone,
    I am French and I am trying to create a stored procedure in my oracle database 10 g R2.

    Here's the code I developed:

    create or replace procedure recgenerator (max_row in number, min_row number) is
    Start
    cursor c_nume_clie is
    Select nume_clie
    from (select rownum rn, nume_clie of the customer)
    where < = max_row and rn > rn = min_row;
    r_nume_clie c_nume_clie % ROWTYPE;
    Start
    Open c_nume_clie;
    loop
    extract the c_nume_clie in r_nume_clie;
    When the output c_nume_clie % NOTFOUND;
    dbms_output.put_line (r_nume_clie.numero);
    end loop;
    close c_nume_clie;
    end;
    end;
    /

    As you can see, the point is to allow a user to select the folder he wants only. I did a slider to get this, but oracle returns me an error and I can't find the source.

    Here is the oracle error:
    SQL > show errors
    Mistakes pour the RECGENERATOR PROCEDURE:

    3/11 PLS-00103: symbol 'C_NUME_CLIE' met instead of one of
    following symbols:

    could you clarify me please?

    Thank you

    PaulNero

    When you want to print something on the screen you should be sure that you have added your connection to DBMS output.

    Go to the menu 'View'--> 'DBMS output. You can see that there is a new Dbms output window, where you can click the green sign to add your connection. Execute the statement again and you will see that the statement was printed.
