HP Envy Phoenix before 4 USB ports

I don't like to sound stupid but I just got my new Phoenix envy at full load, and it is supposed to have a player of 15-in-1 memory card and 4 USB ports on the front panel. Everything I can see I have a Blu - Ray optical media player. There is a panel that I don't see? The long Panel on the front (where it says want TO) is not a business.

Please help, I think I'm missing something! There are two USB ports on top, but none of the others are present to the front or sides.

Hello

Look immediately under the expansion bay about a third of the way on the front Bezel. There should be a panel with a lip, I have a red light immediately over the lip on my case. Enter the lip and down the Panel. The card reader and USB ports are behind the sliding panel.

Just bought this desktop computer ~ 1 week ago and I tried to plug in a device on the USB ports on the front of the tower... nothing. Plugging the unit in the rear of the tower and it works like a charm. No idea why the front USBs seem dead?

OK, since it has been suggested that it was probably a hardware problem, I decided to open the suitcase and see if I could figure out what was wrong. Immediately, it was clear that one who has mounted my camera installation of lenovo forgot to plug the front USBs. Literally everything it took to fix this problem was to plug the cable into the motherboard... guess I should have the air inside before posting in the first place.

  • HP Envy x 360 (M1V68UA): USB Ports all failed - resembled HW failure, but resolved by reinstalling a driver

This post is an explanation of the complete absence of the laptop (2.0 & 3.0) USB ports and the later hotfix.

Suspecting a hardware failure, I ran the Diagnostics UEFI and received confirmation of a default by a character 27 failure code.  This type of information is supposed to be useful to someone, but I couldn't find any documentation on this failure on the Web code and technician HP customer care has never offered an explanation.  The ID of the failure, I received was:

    0GF87X-7NW88A-GXGJMF-8D3Q03

I made arrangements to ship the laptop to HP repair, but while waiting to receive their shipping box, I continued to research.  I happened to run System Mechanic from iolo and noticed a tool "Toolbox |" Recover | Troubleshooting of the system"that took me as a result of convenience store window 10.  I ran the hardware and devices troubleshooter, and confirmed a problem with the USB ports.  But, surprisingly, the fix was to install the latest driver for the Intel USB 3.0 eXtensible host controller (USBXHCI. (SYS).

Once the driver has been reinstalled, the USB port problem has been resolved.  He worked for 3 days and I was able to back up my laptop on an external hard drive into a USB port, as I usually do.

So if you see a problem with your USB ports, which can resemble a hardware failure, it is better running of the utility window hardware & peripheral troubleshooting.  It can save you an unnecessary repair work.

As I understand it you had conducted a test of material using the UEFI diagnostic tool and received a failure ID, however, you install the latest driver and solved the problem.

I'm glad that worked for you, even if you keep the only common, the ID of the failure you captured represents a "Communication error" device on devices such as GPS, switch and/or USB, HUB, Modem, network card, network drive, PCI, PCMCIA card.

Install the most recent driver is one of the first steps to solve the communication error, however, if the problem is intermittent because it sometimes a repair would be the best way to go.

  • HP Envy 17 J11tx: Capricious USB Ports

My USB ports have ALL (4/4) disconnect started all peripheral USB is inserted. Iintially recognizes them, but after a few moments, it disconnects them (I get the tone on my laptop) and the device disappears, only to be reconnected a few seconds later.

Super boring. It plays just like above all the time, the device is connected.

Certainly my ports, not my devices as have tried on other computers etc, other peripheral...

    Laptop is less a year

    Thank you!

Many people have this problem with Windows 8.1 Microsoft pushed an immature technology outside the market, a technology that is openly hostile to some old USB devices, and not playing is not very pleasant with some new USB devices as well. Just search google for 'disconnect a USB devices intermittently' and you'll find you're not alone. The good news: your hardware is fine, what are your USB devices. The bad news: Windows is not very well with your USB devices. Try disabling "USB selective suspend" in power options. If we don't talk of external hard drives USB selective suspend does not help solve the problem, we will have to do a regedit.

  • HP Envy Office 700-070d USB Port short Circuit

Hello everyone. I need help here. My friend runs accidentally shorted USB port using a USB 2.0 cable. Very probably he pinched the cables and so the 5V and ground were short shorted.

so the CPU is now unable to turn it on. When I press the button, the motherboard ON and OFF several times and product by clicking on / rattling sound which is terribly noisy.

so when we asked a computer service repairman to check on our PC, it told us there is no problem with the PSU, but the problem is with the motherboard.

As we do not have the expertise in computer hardware troubleshooting, I would ask your opinion in this regard. He said the charge will be around MYR450 (USD140) so I think that it is quite expensive, if that is the amount that we will pay.

Any advice on that? the PC is still under warranty (expiration date 2016-08-03). So is it possible I can hp services provider to fix this?

  • Before the USB Ports does not. Dell Optiplex 390

    Hello

I recently bought a used optiplex 390, I did a fresh install of windows 7.

The front USB ports refuse to work (the back ones that work very well)

I tried upgrading the BIOS, then the chipset, but still no luck.

    Any ideas?

Set to refuse to work.  The front ports allow only 100ma of power for keyboards and mice. Need power 500ma USB flash drives.

Façade cable may be broken or the ports themselves perhaps.

HOWEVER, this model and many other dells can disable various ports in the bios.

  • Dynadock not power USB ports

I bought a new Toshiba Dynadock. As I uderstood documentation it should feed two front usb even when the host computer is in standby mode or disconnected ports. It doesn't seem to work for me.

Devices connected to everything (including forward) ports continues to load when the computer is suspended/disconnected. I tried with the ipod player mp3 flash with the same result.

It works for you? If it works if I understand correctly? Or my device is defective just?

    What is your opinion?

    Thank you for your help.
    Barthek

    Hi guys

I think I should clarify this question ;)

The dynadock s supports six USB ports.
But * only before two USB ports provide power * when the computer is turned off, suspended or disconnected. This allows you to reload some MP3 players, mobile phones and other devices.

But beware: not all devices can be loaded through these ports.

    I hope this helps!

  • My USB ports and MIC do not work. I hope that this is not the motherboard. Someone knows how to fix this?

Initially, it was a port that would not work. Before the USB ports out I did pay my phone with the USB cable. Before that my microphone stopped working. Deactivation and activation of the ports as well as uninstall then re install the USB readers and I tried a system restore. I also tried to take the battery for an hour or two and restart the PC. None of this has worked. Today, I heard some hope of my computer... I heard the sound of him recognize a dongle that is plugged. This sound is produced after starting my PC. I have not heard in a while and still haven't when I unplug and plug back in to the dongles. My computer (a laptop) like also to restart auto sometimes when I close the lid and open it, the screen does not light and it will be off and try to restart itself but the screen never lights up and he'll stop and try several times to start. In this case I have to hold the power button down to turn off completely and take the battery out and put it back in, then turn it on. I feel that it's a hardware problem but I'm not that great with computers and I don't want to give up yet on this computer. It cost me a pretty penny and I am a broke student.

If anyone had the same types of problems and has a solution I'm willing to try anything.
    Thanks in advance
    -Mike

    Hi Mike,.

You can consult the following wire link and check if it helps.

Tips for solving problems of USB devices

It seems that you have to re - enable ports in the BIOS (Basic input/output system) settings.

NOTE: Change (CMOS) BIOS/complementary metal oxide semiconductor settings can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the configuration of the BIOS/CMOS settings can be solved. Changes to settings are at your own risk. Be sure to observe the manufacturer's instructions or contact the manufacturer for the same thing.

  • My Book 3.0 (1 TB, USB 3.0) detection with envy Phoenix 810-135qe problem

I have a My Book 3.0 (1 TB, USB 3.0)... The older My Book not the newest one... "My Book Essential" or something like that.

I used it with W7 x 64 backup utility on an older office of the HP (HP Pavilion a6560t) without problem until my new HP Envy 810-135qe happened. I downloaded the latest drivers from WD support and the PnPed thing very well off the non powered USB 3.0 at the rear of the 810. However, the 810 gives up the connection after sleep, hibernation, lock, or simply over time. I ran diagnostics on the WD and cables, all the beautiful removed. I tried cutting power saving s 3.0 to USB in device (just a guess) Manager, and that seemed to work for a few weeks, but I still have the problem of detection from time to time. All my drivers are up to date on the HP circuit. I completely reformat the WD now to see if that would solve the question somehow (I'll update in the next few days on how that worked).

Someone has an idea what is wrong? I suspect something with the BIOS. HP chat support has been no help (they go through the same checks that I've done myself) and they got really scary on another cat when I asked about adding an SSD as boot drive (I knew it was a problem of here and other forums)... Set myself to second level support, and all what they told me it is that they could not tell me something... Basically, not support for a config except for how they were shipped because it's a "customized" version (Yes, time to chagrin of the buyer).

Second, anyone running a similar config with a remote backup that works well? My WD is getting old so I thought one of the more recent portable USB 3.0 hard drives (2.5-3.5). My features to follow.

I want to add a second ethernet port on the desktop... any recommendations, the Gathas, the various factors to consider... I seem to have three ports of extension on the PCI bus... one of them would be the target (or what)... any recommendations on ethernet brand and model to consider...

    Hello

There are many models/products of ENVY Phoenix Desktop - 850-065 series. In any case, according to your description you can use a normal PCIe 1Gig card. There are a lot of cards around, 1 port, 2 ports or more. Please make sure that there are drivers CD or at least it shows you where to find driver (from the site of the manufacturer).

    Kind regards.

  • HP Envy 15 1195eo problem of USB Ports!

I am facing a problem with my usb ports on my HP Envy 15 1195eo. I tried a number of things to make them work, but nothing did. Basically, when I connect a usb device, it will connect, stay tuned for a very few seconds, then disconnect for a few seconds and then connect for a few seconds again, and he repeats like that of infinity. So I'd like prompting assistance works again!

    News of the computer:

    Model: HP Envy 15-1195eo

    OS: Windows 7 64-bit

    Hello again Unboxeremail.

That solves the problem at the origin?  This can be useful information.

I took a look inside the laptop and noticed three ports (2 ports standard right) USB and eSATA/USB port a combination on the left, what port is non-functional?  In addition, the image of the motherboard indicates that the USB ports are not on a panel separated from the motherboard so a connection problem is very unlikely here.

Do you have a multimeter?  Check the USB port to see if the connection is down at random would check it like a hardware problem.

If the problem persists after a new installation of Windows, then this indicates a hardware problem.  This laptop is guaranteed?  You can see here.  If it is under warranty, you should contact HP support and let them know about the issue. • HP Envy m6 1125dx: USB Ports are not working please help

    Hey all,.

I had problems with my USB ports on my laptop Hp Envy M6 1125 DX. Only 1 usb port works and the rest do not work. I tried everything to update the BIOS updated the drivers from the site. I don't know if the driver is not installed or if it's just a bad USB port, but I didn't really notice it until recently, when I bought a headset and I couldn't use it as my only working port is used by my mouse.

    In the USB tab in Device Manager, it has the following features;

    Generic USB hub

    Composite USB device

None of them have a yellow exclamation point so my best guess would be that is missing the drivers for the rest of the ports, but I have no idea. I'm in for this reason excrutiating pain, I'd appreciate any help.

  • Envy Phoneix 850 160SE: USB 3.0 or USB 2.0 ports

    Envy Phoneix 850 160SE (new)

I have not found any manual on HP site with photo showing what USB 10 locations (6 are 3.0 and 4 2.0) tell me that are 3.0 or 2.0 and none came with the office.

There are 4 USB ports on the front panel, say two specifications are usb 2 and 2 usb 3,.

two of the ports have a small ss beside them, but I can't find how to identify

which 2 are 2 and 2 usb usb 3 or what that means little ss.

(If I had to guess I think the 2 ports with the ss little beside them are usb 3)

The back of the desktop computer has 6 usb ports, 4 usb 3 and two usb 2, again not manual

or spec identifys who are usb 3 or usb 2.  Also there is a group of 4 slots usb in a part of the back and another grouping of 2 connectors usb on the back, I guess that the Group of 4 is usb 3 and 2 group

are usb 2, but not sure I'm right.

    Anyone know?

    Thank you

    Gary

    Hi Gary,.

Review of the below pictures for the types of USB ports.  SS refers to USB 3.
