strategies of iTunes (implemented)

I'm trying to reorganize iTunes media (albums only) and want to make sure I have a good strategy. My ideal would be to have two identically synced on my two computers, music libraries and then sync the playlists for these devices on iOS devices, with all that saved by Time Machine and with more assistance (at least one) on an external hard drive.

Right now my pillar, a Macbook Air, lack of space to include the music on the player, so I am running iTunes off of an external library. But the playlists are stored locally on this machine. Until I get a bigger computer that is what I have. Should I keep the iTunes folder on the external drive, rather than on the local disk? If so, how to point iTunes to that folder? Or should I keep locally and just use the songs 'referenced' disk hard until I can put it all together on a single machine in the future.

Then I need to figure out how to get - all on the second machine (office, expansion), or rather the most effective way for it to be identical to the Air. I can import the iTunes library on the Machine 2, but should I also export the Machine 1 iTunes folder? (Is stored in this folder or is it integrated somehow into the songs?) I had to import the work in some cases where it could not be automatically and want to preserve it, as well as my meta-data, now).

Is there a better way under the circumstances to keep the two identical machines in their iTunes?

Finally, I was not yet allowed Air to use for backup and synchronization. I guess I'll need to do. (In the past, I used 2 Machine as my pillar, and whenever I tried to synchronize a device iOS with iTunes Machine 2, I'm done with next to no songs in my iOS devices. Not a good result.)

Thanks in advance.

The synchronization is in a specific library file, or copy a specific.  There is also a distinction between "media" and "library". If you have your file library on the external hard drive, you can start the library even computers, but you can have only one computer to use it at the time.  Have the entire library (= everything in a normal iTunes folder) into a single place is the usual recommended method, but it has this drawback.  If you want to run iTunes on both computers at the same time using the same library, you will need to make a copy of the library file, put it on the second computer and launch iTunes with this copy.  However, if you change media external hard disk only the copy of the library used to do file that will contain the updated information even if media files are in the Media folder.  You must go to the second computer and make sure that its information is updated, or copy the library file, you just use for this computer too. In other words there is no ideal solution for computers running iTunes at the same time using the same library.

  • Restrict the user to select a fixed number of values only to the SelectManyShuttle component

    Hello

    I'm working on JDeveloper 11.1.1.7.

My requirement is to allow the user to select a fixed number of values using the SelectManyShuttle component only.

Suppose if I have 10 available values in the left part of the element of the shuttle, I should allow the user to shuttle only three values on the right.

In the image below, I already have 3 employees. Now the user should not be able to select employees more.

    < af:selectManyShuttle label = "Label 1" id = 'sms1.

    value = "#{pageFlowScope.shuttleBean.selectedEmpNames} '"

    leadingHeader = "all employees".

    trailingHeader = "selected employees.

Can you please share your ideas to achieve this?

    Respect,

    Vinod

There are different strategies how to implement this. The easiest will be to check the size of the selected list when the user cklicks the button finished. If the number is larger that the size limit display you an error message.

Another way would be to use a valueChangeListener and the listener, check the size of the new value and add the tonthe size from the size of the already selected list. Then display an error message.

  • Implementation even account itunes on 2 computers

I have a second mac (macbook air) that I use on my travels and have setup an account for me on this computer. I have install itunes and tried to install one of the apps I bought previously (version first day which is not available on the app store any longer). Problem is I connect, but there is no application library - can someone tell me how to access my applications?

Real-world applications are stored in the Mobile Applications folder in your iTunes Media folder.   iTunes 9 [and later]: understanding iTunes Media organization - http://support.apple.com/HT201979 I think that if you wanted to just transfer applications you can copy this folder to the other computer, and then drag add the folder to iTunes library so that it recognizes the content.

Page 6 of Apple, exhaustively meticulous instructions step by step: how to move your iTunes library to a new computer - https://support.apple.com/HT204318 it is convenient if you think that all your materials are not in the standard location.

My resume in a sentence if you use preferences by default iTunes settings: copy the folder integer iTunes (and to ensure that all of its subfolders and files) intact at the other disk, hold down the option/alt key (shift on Windows) keys to start iTunes and on request to select a library select iTunes Library.itl file in the copied folder (open a different iTunes library file or create a new one - https://support.apple.com/HT201596).

When it comes to a new car/computer put the iTunes folder copied to the default location of Macintosh HD > users > * user name * > music (or home > music) so you don't even have to start with the down option, iTunes will automatically look it there.  (Make sure that it is no anything already in the iTunes folder it that you want to keep because you will replace it with the one you are moving).  Don't forget to authorize computer in iTunes to your Apple ID if you use it to synchronize with Apple devices or play multimedia DRM protected (e.g., movies).

Some elements used in iTunes related activities are not stored in the iTunes library folder, but in special folders.  If you move a library to another computer, you can copy these too:

-Music files Apple cache: http://dougscripts.com/itunes/2015/09/new-flush-apple-music-cache-files/ - ~/Library/Caches/com.apple.iTunes/SubscriptionPlayCache/ file, which is a bit like a "iTunes Media" folder for music from Apple

  • How to implement new strategies system and connection WS ADF in OEM through orders WLST

    Hello

I would like to know if there are orders WLST available for creation of new system policies and ADF WS connection, other than manually configure them in Oracle Enterprise Manager.

Thanks in advance for any help/suggestion/response.

    Kind regards

    Stéphane

    Hi Timo Hahn,

Thank you for your response. Noted, will show the future requests related to weblogic in the appropriate forum.

Anyway, I tried the recording feature in the WebLogic administration Console, but it seems it records only the configurations being performed in the weblogic administration console only and not from the Enterprise Manager console (where system and connection WS ADF strategies are before manually).

I could find answers but already on my queries using the following commands WLST.

    To create a system policy/permissions:

grantPermission ([codeBaseURL = 'url',] permClass = "permissionClassName", [permTarget = "permName"], [permAction = "comma_separated_list_of_actions"])

To create an application's ADF customer WS with GOSA strategy attached and hardware overloaded:

    createWebServiceConnection (appName, wsConnName, wsdlUrlStr)

attachWebServiceClientPolicy (application, moduleOrCompName, Moduleinfo, serviceRefName, portInfoName, policyURI)

setWebServiceClientStubProperty (application, moduleOrCompName, Moduleinfo, serviceRefName, portInfoName, propName, [varValeurProp])

  • iTunes won't sync all my songs

    Hello

I just got myself a iPhone 7 128 gb phone after having a 5 for 4 years or more. I spent Saturday setting up using iTunes, but I am now find just some of my songs do not play on my iPhone, which I think should be reduced to a problem of sync. Now as a first step, synchronization and implementation of backup process took approximately 8 hours at night. It is perhaps down to my laptop (Windows 10) or the fact that I have over 9,000 songs put out there. I had this problem in the past, but now some of my most listened songs, who previously, I have not had problems with, do not play on the phone.

So, after that sync the first time, I got an error pops up saying that some songs may not be synchronized, so I tried again and again and this number of songs got more smaller and smaller each time, BUT some of the songs never appear on this list and may not always be played on the phone. It's very strange and I can't just make drag the unit. My iTunes has 9415 songs but my camera has only said 8971 (excessive in both cases, I know).

Frustrating is that songs that lack seem to be ones I particularly want to listen for some reason, i.e. those maybe I listened mainly just before moving on to the iPhone 7, but is not limited to these songs. When I click on my device on iTunes and click 'Music', these songs play here either, but appear different songs around them or display errors. Play these songs in iTunes that is normal in the library.

I have updated to iOS 10.0.2 and iTunes is 12.5.1.

I write here before going through the agony of pulling all the songs off the unit and restore.

    Please can someone help?

    Thank you

    Mike

The following steps should help with the erratic behavior of synchronization, including the formidable gray traces with dotted circles. They assume that all the content you want on the device in your lending library for the restoration. If not see recover your iTunes from your iPod or an iOS device first. I would also recommend you copy everything off of the camera, if you have not already.

    1. Backup device.
    2. Restoration as a new device.
    3. Restore the backup that you made earlier.

Use a backup encrypted if you want to keep passwords, wi - fi settings, history and health web data as appropriate.

  • Audit of Apple tv / itunes sign-in?

Thus, this problem appeared since last week and is seriously testing my 15 years Apple-love story...

I can't connect to iTunes on the Apple TV (2nd generation).

I sign in (on TV) using my ID Apple + password.

So we get to the verification stage, where I was sent a request on my phone to allow a device to access iTunes, and a verification code is sent through. It is NEVER accepted by the TV... It simply goes back to the id + password page... an infinite loop.

I restarted. Changed my Apple iD password. Connected to other devices. But can not log on the tv... and therefore can not access my purchased movies. It seems that this review of 2 floors is the origin of the problem.

Any ideas? Please?  This tent seriously my patience!

Hello. It is a long-standing problem which you have just met. You may be able to add the code to your password. If this does not work, you need to sign in to your Apple ID in a browser and disable two-stage when you complete the connection. Depending on whether you use validation in 2 steps (4 digits) or 2-factor authentication (6 digits), you can find help here the frequently asked questions about check in two steps for Apple ID - Apple Support or here two-factor authentication for Apple ID - Apple Support. Both methods appear to be similar, but are implemented differently, adding to the complication.

  • I have a iPod Classic 30 GB. I have a new macbook pro and I managed to put my iPod, but now I can't synchronize my iTunes to iPod. What should I do next?

iPod Classic does not sync with iTunes on MacBook Pro.

If "reset" means you did a restore on it (to erase it), after the restoration, the iPod is set by default to use the parameter manually manage music and videos] .  If you expect not to sync automatically, you need to Sync music.

Connect iPod and to find his button on the device to iTunes.  The screenshot below shows the left upper corner of the window of my iTunes, iPod button circled in red.

Click this button to display the settings of the iPod summary screen in the iTunes window.  Along the left side, in the sidebar, under settings, click on music.  Parameters of music from the iPod screen to the right.  Check the box to Sync music.

NOTE: For anyone else reading this, all the songs of the iPod that are not in your iTunes library will be lost.

This enables automatic synchronization.  You can choose to synchronize your entire music library or a part of the selection .  Implement this screen as you want, and then click apply to sync iPod.  Further, iTunes automatically keeps iPod "in phase" with the changes in your music library (or the selected part of it), when you connect the iPod (or click sync , if already connected).

If this isn't the problem, thanks for posting back with additional details about your situation.

  • Do I need to have iTunes 12.5.1 to ensure compatibility with iOS 10?

    Hey everybody!

I'm probably buying an iPhone 6 this weekend, and if it does not already have iOS 10, I might have to download it during the process of restoring iCloud (at least, when I finally got a new iPhone, I had to update the current operating system before iCloud should fill the phone). Whatever it is, the end of Saturday, I'll probably use an iPhone that has iOS 10 on it.

I have the latest version of iTunes before 12.5.1 (12.4 I guess? "I don't remember, and I'm not currently in this computer), and my MBP has El Capitan, latest version. I know that some people had problems with the OTA updates to iOS 10 and had to update iTunes to 12.5.1, but when I run no problems with OTA, do I really need iTunes 12.5.1? I see that it mess of things for some people, so I don't want to download it immediately unless I really need.

Basically, if I don't have iTunes 12.5.1, can I synchronize and back up a phone iOS 10 with iTunes as usual? Or should I really update until I get iOS 10.

    Data sheet:
13 "non - retina MBP, El Capitan, latest version (including the recent security update)

Currently, you use an iPhone 6 with 9.3.5, does not upgraded to iOS 10. Will buy iPhone 6s 128 GB, what will be happened with iOS 10 or it will take upgrade me to iOS 10 as part of the implementation.

    Thank you!

A 6s iPhone should come with 10 pre-installed iOS, but you should always backup your data before the update.

You can update via a Wi - Fi network directly on the iPad by tapping settings > general > software update

Or using iTunes > update the iOS on your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch - Apple Support software

  • iTunes can't find my music more

A previous version of iTunes apparently added that the chain of file://localhost/ to the path and now iTunes can't find music more. How can I fix the path for all of my songs without having to change each of them? I already copied the folder back entire iTunes Media from the NAS to a local drive (because I suspect that this is the underlying problem for iTunes) but this does not alter the path information. All the music is now stored on a local disk, but iTunes brand each song with an exclamation point.

The problem of 'missing file' with exclamation points occurs if the file is no longer where iTunes is expected to find. Causes possible is that you or a third-party tool has moved, renamed or deleted the file, one of its parents, or the reader, records it feeds has been a change in the letter of the drive or you have moved a non-portable library to a different path (see make a split cell library for more details). It is also possible that iTunes has changed from waiting for the files in the presentation of pre-iTunes 9 post-iTunes 9 layout, or vice versa, and so looking for a bit in the wrong place.

Select a track with an exclamation point, use Ctrl-I to get information, then click on no when asked to try to locate the runway. Look under the file tab for the location that iTunes thinks that the file should be. Now look around your hard drive. I hope you can locate the track in question. If a part of your library has just been moved, renamed a folder or a drive letter has changed, it should be possible to reverse actions. If the difference between the two railroads is an additional music folder in a path, then it is a problem of layout. I can explain more if this is the case. If everything is where it is supposed to be trying to fix the security permissions for iTunes for Windows.

In some cases, iTunes may be able to repair itself if you go through the same steps with Get Info, or during playback of a track, but this time, click on search and browse the lost track. Then, it can offer try to automatically correct the other broken links. Although he said something like 'use the same location' I think he expects to find titles in the same provision, artist / album, they were previously, with a systematic change to the path.

If another application like Windows Media Player has moved/renamed files, or the library was moved from OS X to Windows, then chances are that subtle differences in naming strategies it will be difficult to restore the media to the precise path that iTunes is pregnant. In this case, as long as the missing files somewhere, you should be able to use my FindTracks script for reconnecting to iTunes. See this post for an explanation of how it works. It may need some adjustments if your media is in a non-standard layout.

If you want me to try to provide specific advice, please post back the following details:

    1. The location of the media under Edition folder > Preferences > advanced
    2. The location of a sample of missing follow indicated under Get Info > file > location that begins file://localhost/
    3. The real path to the file which you gave 2 details

Note the addition of file://localhost/ and the reverse slashes (Windows only) is normal for a file that is not quite where iTunes is expected to find.
