Connects to other places, but does not connect to my place with a modem DSL from Westell 327W (carrier Verizon).  Thin hard wire Mills, other laptops connect very well but not the Lenovo S10.  Tried everything - Open - security-enabled system - firewall off and nothing.  Can see the wireless network in the list, the signal is excellent but won't connect - just keep trying.

Looks like there is a new version of BIOS for the S10. Don't know what he's doing, but being like curious I installed it nothing appears again in the BIOS menus. System update had an empty description as well. What does Lenovo?

  • How to install W8 in Mode for Lenovo Ideapad Z510 UEFI?

    Hello world

I've been struggling with the w8 installation on my laptop Ideapad z510 in UEFI mode, but not I could succeed it or me I found something that might help. I will explain clearly the case.

    Point 1:
As I understand it, for successful installation in UEFI format w8, we need choose the mode of 'First UEFI"from the Boot Menu in the BIOS. Then, the source of the shoe must be specified to identify the rigid path to documents to be loaded so that the new OS could be installed correctly.

    Pharmacodependance1:
It is possible to choose UEFI boot mode first, but it is not possible to choose the USB for UEFI boot path in this case, which does not allow to succeed a UEFI boot to your computer. You cannot reach the DVD or USB, the installation files are, and start the installation process.

    Point2:

If we consider the first case, you must choose the Legacy Support of your computer startup mode and achieve the USB or DVD drive to install the new operating system on the computer.

    Problem2:
To succeed the UEFI mode when the computer starts, you should see 4 different partitions on your drive to the point of disc selection, if you choose the disk you install your operating system. However, when you select the Legacy Support in BIOS mode, the disk partition is limited to 2 in my case, that are:

    • Main drive
    • Reserved system (350 MB)

That is why, when I continue the installation, the OS is installed on the traditional way. After installation, when I go into the BIOS to choose the UEFI boot mode for mode, the laptop checks some network connections and said

    • EFI network failure 0 for IPv4
    • EFI network failure 0 for IPv6

    respectively.

So, advice, aid, ideas and suggestions are gladly welcome to overcome this problem. Could you please help me?

PS: Please don't say that "you can't install because your computer does not support", because I have received computer technical service and a W8 version has been installed in UEFI mode. However, I deleted to install W8 pro.

    Greetings,

    Okan

First of all, your bootable USB key must be created in the UEFI. Just google and you will find solutions.

You can install W8 mode UEFI. Just allow to boot from USB in BIOS, select Exit Saving changes and restart.

I think it's your basic problem. Let me know if you have already done this and still having the problem.

  • IdeaPad S10 - 3 broken hinge

The right hinge plastic my S10 - 3A laptop broke up without reason. I always close my netbook correctly and always take care of it. This netbook has been with me for almost 2 years already. What will happen if I didn't not my laptop for repair? Is there a way to fix without spending too much, I mean it's just a hinge. I have read other forums that could fix that part cost about $300.

    Unbeatable salvation.

    Welcome to the Lenovo Forums.

If you hear sound that cracks when you open your LCD or you think the hinges left / right become cowards then I recommend that you do fix it because it can damage the back platic if left unrepaired.

You can get here to spare:

Lenovo Ideapad S10-3 left / right hinge set

And you can follow this guide diassembly or this video as a reference. If you are not comfortable opening the laptop, you can have this service in a local computer repair shop.

    Note:

Use ESD protection and ensure subsequent disassembly your PC because it includes items that are easily breakable.

    I hope this helps.

    Hi colh.

With a staff of creative cloud you will not be able to install Lightroom 6/CC on this computer, because it is not compatible on 32-bit systems. See the system requirements for Photoshop Lightroom for Mac OS and Windows

However, you can install Lightroom Creative Cloud Desktop App.Refer 5 How to find and install previous Version of Adobe Apps in CC-2015 | Adobe Customer Care Team

We recommend that you search for other laptops of 64-bit.

  • 9 cell battery for IdeaPad S10-2?

I wonder if one battery 9 cells which is compatible with the IdeaPad S10 will work as well in a S10-2. I need to replace my 6-cell and plans the upgrade for greater autonomy, if possible.

    Hello and welcome,

I know that there is a (third-party) available 9cell battery for S9e, S12, S9, S10 S10e all could use all the same 3,6,9 cell batteries which are decided for S10 (one)... like the present case, i.e. 9-cell for S10 S12

But is not fit for the S10-2 (two) and vice versa for the S10-2 battery does not fit into the S10...

They are a little different... S10 - 2 have a small notch / nose that prohibit to connect the batteries like this for example

    3 & 6 cells for S10 - 2

    Either way S10-3 & S10 - 3T have also different batteries as S10, S10-2 have

  • IdeaPad S10-3 does not start after windows updates 7

    Hi Experts,

I have a laptop Ideapad S10-3 with WIndows 7. It was fine until I installed a few Windows-7 Updatss. Once the updates have been made, the system rebooted and after that it never started. I just get the first screen of Lenovo with the F2 and F12 options. Anything after that. If I press F2, it goes into the BIOS menu, but if I press the F12 option, and then nothing happens. I just see a black screen with the cursor blinking in the upper left corner. Can someone please help me get back system works again. Would be a great help.

    Thanks in advance.

    Kind regards

    Vijay

    Hello

Thanks for the suggestions, but none of them worked. However, I could finally get my ideapad work as follows.

As soon as the screen of Lenovo's Logo, press F2 to enter the boot menu. In the start menu, there is an option for the compatibility of the disk with AHCI options (or something similar) Compatible vs. I don't know what was before settings but in the condition of non-working, the setting was AHCI. I then changed to "Compatible" and restarted after the registration of the configuration. He then loaded windows.

However, I do not how the setting changed on AHCI. Also in mode AHCI, my USB not detected. After I changed the compatibility mode, it detects and I was able to load Ubuntu from USB disk as well (as a book drive).

Try if it can solve your problem in this scenario.

    Kind regards

  • Lenovo Ideapad 100: Removing the battery

Hello, I have problems with my removing the battery. As my title says, I have a Lenovo ideapad 100, and I'm supposed to send it off for repairs. For my problem, I need to take out the battery because it is not part of the problem; However, I can't get out. I've read here to take off the base, but in trying to do this, it seems he breaks the internal clamps keep attached. I don't want to keep these break just to pay for them to be repaired afterwards.
