  I was assigned to the case manager for broken hinge.  HP offers to fix it with the more than $150 price tag.  There are so many owners of HP laptop with the same problem as mine of HP forum.  Someone knows HP deliver any recall for broken hinge problem.  I hope that that goes message to Jeff.

• Satellite Pro L20 - broken hinge baseplate - where to find the parts?

  First post here, so please excuse the lack of local etiquette.

  My son has a Toshiba Satellite Pro L20 with a broken hinge base plate. I'm calling it a base plate that I can not find the name of the part anywhere on the web so far.

  Its obviously the metal plate on the basis that the hinge attaches to.
  You can see it if you remove the battery.

  Nobody knows what is this part and where I could possibly buy one?

  I would recommend not also remove and open Notepad by yourself if you do not have enough experience. It may be damaged parts instead of fix ;)

  Each laptop technician could make this work for a few dollars. so ask someone in your area.

  A week barely returned this Ideapad S10 - 3 to the initial state to overcome a problem with mode 'sleep', which has recurred just - worked well in sleep for a few days then back to this question - that's why this message - when I put the netbook to sleep by closing the lid, 2 left lights on the left front light & the system stops responding - only by holding the power button down to kill the system then by restarting the system that reboots can sleep (I put the hybrid sleep system on) extended is the problem solved.

  If you are running Windows 7 and Windows Update received before the problem, you can try to perform a system restore (click Start > type System Restore) and disable windows to automatically receive updates (click Start > type Windows Update > choose change settings on the left sablovaseuse) then watch the PC.

  If your system is entirely through Windows Update before the problem, try to apply this "standby" difficulty.

• HP ENVY Notebook PC m6: HP ENVY m6 broken hinge

  Hello. I've owned my laptop HP ENVY M6 for over 2 years now, so of course my warranty has expired. About 2 months ago or not, I noticed that the right hinge on my laptop has been raised then I inspected it and then pushed him down. This continued whenever I close the laptop with me pushing down from the hinge. The coating for the monitor also plastic bends whenever I close the laptop. These questions seem to be relatively minor at the time. Tonight, 09/12/15, when I went to close the laptop, the hinge completely gave way, broke and collapsed. The left side seems to be still intact. I noticed that inside the bottom right of the screen, a piece of metal was separated across the screen. I suspect that this piece of metal is what more or less kept the hinge in place for 2 + months that it has been broken. In other words, when the piece of metal gave way, so too does the already broken hinge.

  The HP ENVY laptop m6 always seems to be in working order other than the broken hinge. However, this means that I can not put anywhere at the present time. The ability to transport my laptop is very important for me because I am currently in College and I take a lot of my notes on my laptop

  I was wondering if there is anyway to have technical support on my laptop? I noticed that the broken hinges are a very common problem with the HP ENVY m6 (perhaps a manufacturing error) and hope it will be resolved as soon as possible.

  As perhaps others, I also have a hinge broken on my m6 DESIRE.  Looking at these posts there seems to be a common problem and something HP must stand behind.   I'm out of warranty, but I am not ready to buy a new computer.  How can I get this repaired?

  After posting my problem of hinge broken on this site, I was contacted by HP.  The first individual forwarded my information to the appropriate office.  This person contacted me and completely took care of my computer. The customer service was ourstanding.  In addition to take care of the broken hinge and the case, they also took care of all delivery charges.  My computer had not yet gone for 1 week.  I'm super impressed!

  If you buy a vga to hdmi converter, you can use it but due to the computer resolution is not enough, you will not be able to get a screen high-definition television.

  I'm afraid that if it is broken, there is nothing you can do. You will need to do so because of the broken hing, or replace the printer. I'm sorry. You might be able to find a local MOM and pop shop who can fix it, but I don't know of any chain store that repairs the printer hardware.

  Just got my ideapad S10 and I'm loving it.

  The only problem is that XBMC does not seem to want to get started.  It installs fine, but when I try to start nothing happens and it appears in the Task Manager (consuming 40% CPU) until I have killed him.

  Anyone successfully running XBMC on a S10?  If so, I would be very interested to hear how you got to work.

• IdeaPad S10-3 does not start after windows updates 7

  Hi Experts,

  I have a laptop Ideapad S10-3 with WIndows 7. It was fine until I installed a few Windows-7 Updatss. Once the updates have been made, the system rebooted and after that it never started. I just get the first screen of Lenovo with the F2 and F12 options. Anything after that. If I press F2, it goes into the BIOS menu, but if I press the F12 option, and then nothing happens. I just see a black screen with the cursor blinking in the upper left corner. Can someone please help me get back system works again. Would be a great help.

  Thanks for the suggestions, but none of them worked. However, I could finally get my ideapad work as follows.

  As soon as the screen of Lenovo's Logo, press F2 to enter the boot menu. In the start menu, there is an option for the compatibility of the disk with AHCI options (or something similar) Compatible vs. I don't know what was before settings but in the condition of non-working, the setting was AHCI. I then changed to "Compatible" and restarted after the registration of the configuration. He then loaded windows.

  However, I do not how the setting changed on AHCI. Also in mode AHCI, my USB not detected. After I changed the compatibility mode, it detects and I was able to load Ubuntu from USB disk as well (as a book drive).

  Try if it can solve your problem in this scenario.
