Subsampling during export

I use Lightroom to manage an archive digital historical photos to our County Library. The images are analyzed as targets at 600 dpi at original size; < 3.5 scanned at higher res images. Those are masters to which I add metadata. These images all have a length of some share between 2500 and 3000 + ppi, but they do not conform to the size.

Now I want to export a set of JPG files that have the same physical than the original size, but a resolution of 300 dpi.

Like I did before LR had to run a lot in PS action Image where I changed the resolution to 300, verified size resampling and let it go.

I have tried many different combinations in the export of LR Panel; change the quality reduces the file size, but it always shows the same number of pixels and the physical dimensions, which by default is twice the size of the original. So I interpreted that as it the more compressed file, but it does not actually to downsample and discard pixels.

The only other way I see to do this is to select images of similar size, and then he said to resize to the Fit with a 300 dpi-specific dimension and "do not expand" checked. Or continue to use the Photoshop batch action. Am I missing something?

Thank you.

[I also create a JPG of 1 inch that we use to display online and a book index so LR will work just fine for this. But our bosses often want a jpg of a particular file copy and, unless they ask for higher resolution version, we give them the jpg images to the original format of a 300 dpi.]

Ah, here's the missing info. An impression in the dimension of 2.5 x 4 inches.
The size in pixels of a file which results in a resolution of 300 dpi would be then 750 x 1200 pixels.

You are most probably right that users of the library are unwilling to make this calculation.

But you can give them a file with a size of 750 x 1200 pixels pixel by selecting this dimension in pixels in the Lr export dialog box.

He can't go to Photoshop to do this.

For me it loads instantly on Mac as an application as well. The slides appear automatically, without, I must hit the 'play' button. • Always get horizontal lines on video during export to 720 x 480 AVI with "Deinterlace" turned on

    Professional Hello again fine,

    I use 6 first on a Windows 7 computer.

I always get horizontal lines in my video during export to AVI 720 x 480, even with "Deinterlace" lit.

I had a doubt on another thread and said robodog2 that it is interlaced with the lines of the file are not displayed when you use a selection of progressive export file...

    http://forums.Adobe.com/thread/852077

So I found the box "Deinterlace" via "chronology of export > movie > settings > special treatment > Modify > deinterlace ', but if I have this box checked, I still have horizontal lines.

Here are the screenshots of the same base video before importing them in at first for an effect reverse, and after I saved the resulting file 720 x 480 AVI... the final file appears with the same horizontal lines if yes or no deinterlacing is checked.

Lines are more visible when viewing the video in Windows Media Player they appear in these screenshots below... the lines have in fact characteristics of edge in the public eye.  The lines look like an old used TV sometimes when the antenna was not getting good reception.  Also, I am saving successfully the "chronology of export > movie" path with different codecs (this is no longer a file generated from the preview, I was talking about in the previous thread on this)... so I'm sure all the parameters with this version and I get this result with three different codecs, with and without the "Deinterlace" checked... I had the same experience over and over yesterday evening while he was also working with another file.

No one knows what is the cause?... Please see the pictures below

    Thank you

After the backup in the first 6

Horizontal lines showing in this first 6, 720 x 480, 30 fps AVI file

    PremiereEXPORTED720x480avi_horizontalLINES.jpg

    Hi David,

Yes, I finally solve this problem, based on a chance observation on another forum.  On another forum a guy once mentioned the setting ' NONE FRAME ' in the 'Record Options' in the dialog "Export movie" when I export my movie to an AVI file, as seen in my screen shot below.  Otherwise, I think that setting was failing to "FIRST FRAME ABOVE".

For the most part, I was getting these terrible horizontal lines when I exported the graphic effects that I created with imported Photoshop layers in my film projects... in these kinds of exports that horizontal lines were much worse and more obvious that if I was just export a project with the actual video that I had imported in my project.

But still, even with the imported video, as examples of images that I posted on this thread, even in this case I saw the horizontal lines.

So one guy on another forum said something about "ANY FRAME" setting in my export dialog box.  It relates to something else about deinterlacing it is better for this problem as the "FIRST FRAME SUPERIOR" or "FIRST FRAME BELOW" settings.

As can be seen in my screenshot below, which is the setting I talk, but I was using the old 6 first of 1999all about, and options in the new versions of first export dialog are different.  The guy on the other forum that mentions that setting, that eventually solved my problem, said that the adjustment did not differ in a newer version of first he used, but I found this setting in my dialog "Export movie" , and that solved the problem.

It was so simple and I went by so many things to try to solve it, including my files running through other apps to try to pre empt the problem and none of it worked... He just turns out to be THAT simple adjustment "ANY FIELD" and that solved the whole problem.

First 6 and some newer versions of first, seem to have other problems, such as the creation of an oblong shape, rotation image from a round graph-shaped eggs after importation and applying an effect of rotation, but otherwise, once I realized that the solution of horizontal lines, I did pretty well understand many things in this former first and I got pretty good results.

    Viel Glück!

  • Problem of resizing during export (LR3.0)

I'm trying to export with the dimensions of 720 x 540 pixels. The export picture is 720 x 480 pixels. What I am doing wrong?

    Rick

As Lee Jay said, you probably have cropped not the image that you are exporting to a 4:3 ratio. One of the good features on export from LR is that it does not distort the images during export, but maintains the ratio of the crop in the image you are exporting and match the version exported to what you have specified. So try to crop your image using the 4:3 ratio from the drop of the crop tool and see what happens.

  • MAPI error during export from Windows Mail

I'm trying to export mail from Outlook Express to Outlook 2007.  After the success of export from Outlook Express in Windows Mail, I was unable to export to Outlook.  After choosing Microsoft Exchange as my format this message: export cannot be performed.  An error occurred during initialization of MAPI.  I tried to change the MAPI settings but without success.  My computer uses Windows Vista SP1.

The error means that Outlook is not installed and the program installation (it's the missing MAPI client).  Outlook and Windows Mail must be installed and configured on the same machine.  Outlook must have a defined profile, and it must have a personal folder (.pst file) or an Exchange mailbox attached to the profile.  Outlook may also need to be set as the default e-mail client.

  • Database in use during export

We have an export of data on demand all day, during the day (don't know why). However, we often run into a problem where the script tries to run, but can't export because the "database is in use. It's probably because users are performing calculations or by writing to the database at this time here.

How should we avoid this problem? Incorporate force logoff in the maybe script? Wondering how people here treat database export and other operations that lock the database during the day.

Is there a case to run the dataexport off base hours, if the data changes so I don't think it was the best time to launch an export, otherwise like you said you would kill business which I am not sure that users would be happy with.

    See you soon

  • Transparent video during export

I'm having a problem with a video, that I am currently working. I have already indexed using keylight 1.2 and it (lossless with alpha) exported for Premiere Pro. During the preview of the video there is no visible bleeding colors even when zoomed in. Once the video is exported in mpeg4 my black shirt to cross at random intervals of background colors. I tried multipule times without effect of regeneration of the keys and I do not think it was the green screen itself because I followed all procedure greenscreen (wall, luminous object, distance from a wall of light. Do I need to rotoscope the shirt? I exported this wrong? Any help would be appreciated. If the images are needed please ask.

It's just not a very own key - I don't know it seems that it is, but you have to do a little more tweaking on the key. Use matte preview modes in Keylight to ensure that you have a solid (opaque) white (transparent) black for the background and the subject area. Inlay is a lot of work, even on a whim well lit, so use the tools available in the plug-in (and in the host application) to help you. The help file for Keylight is actually one of the more useful user guides I've come across for the plug-in or software; (on Windows), it is located in C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe after effects CS #\Support Files\Plug - ins\Effects\Foundry\docs.

  • Scaling and subsampling when exporting to PDF

I want to assure you that I fully understand one of the aspects of the scaling and export to PDF.

If I select the subsampling to be 'None', the pixels of the original image will in no case be reechantillonnes, only stretched out or compressed together, how the image function has been scaling in InDesign. Is that how it works?

    That's exactly how it works.

  • 10008 error during export / a lot of (black) executives glitch

    Hi guys,.

I have a big problem with my Final Cut X, I have a project, and can't export it. I got the 10008 error every time. So I'm thinking, I have a glitch images in my videos. I try to fix it - for example, I delete the clip and replace it with a new one. But that has not worked for a long time. Its OK a while, but then the problem come back (to new, replaced pliers!)

Can you help me with this? Why do I receive the glitch, black frames over and over even I replaced it with a new one?

I work with my second project on Final Cut and the first, everything was OK. For the second one I changed the storage location for my drive external HARD, would be that the reason of the pips? I changed the location, because I have only 128 GB SSD internal Macintosh. Can I move the MEDIA, the CACHE, the BACKUPS on external HARD disk?

What is the external hard drive? How is it connected? How it is formatted? Let the backups on the system drive. Clean up the "old" you don't need.

  • Checkbox labels disappear and colors modified during export to interactive PDF

I did an InDesign document that contains two simple text boxes: one containing the word 'Yes' – the other containing the word 'no '. The background color of these two boxes are defined as 100% Cyan. After that, I have converted both of them boxes [(voir 1) in the illustration below].

But when you export as interactive PDF, the background color of change boxes 17/11/0/0 and the 'yes' and ' no. "-labels are not visible in the exported PDF document [(voir 2) in the illustration below]."»

However, when you click on the box in Acrobat, the box contains its original color 100% cyan and label and check mark appears [(voir 3) in the illustration below].

But when I click on an empty space outside the box, the box label disappears again, and the background color changes again in 17, 11, 0, 0 [(voir 4) in the illustration below].

My intention is that, when you view the document in Acrobat Reader, check boxes 100% Cyan with labels 'Yes' and 'No' obvious, when you click on one of them, the check box appears and background color remains 100% Cyan and the labels remain visible - also when you click off the beaten later.

I'm doing something wrong, or is this a software problem?

I appriciate all the tips and tricks on how to achieve my goal. Thanks in advance!

  • Poor audio during export MP4s

I got lost.  I'm inexperienced, learned as much as I know YouTube and trail and error.

Projects exported my machine always its dull and flat, they are not acute and that they lack any dynamism.  In the timeline and preview audio is absolutely perfect, but after trying a combination of export settings different I can't do better.
