  I would like to know what is the max Ram I can update in my laptop HP G62-b51SI?

  At the moment I have 2x2gig of Ram. When I insirted 2x4gig ram, the laptop wouldn't start.

  The problem with that is that if it has a global maximum of 4 concerts there also a max per slot of 2 GB. So, theoretically a 4 GB does not work in a slot, if max is really 4 gigs. If 4 GB works when it is installed by itself, then we can have a bad location or a problem of bad module. This seems like an extreme long shot, but what you have to lose by trying?

• Satellite L300 (PSLB0H-01P00F) - which is my max RAM?

  Hi all
  I would like to know if anyone knows what is the maximum RAM on my Satellite L300 (PSLB0H-01P00F). It came with a default 1 GB and I have now traded as a 2 GB card. But there are 2 slots for RAM... a top slot and a lower slot. At first I tried to add the 2 GB card in the top slot, I hoped would give me 3 GB, but my laptop does not recognize the additional memory after reboot. I pulled out the card of 1 GB of the slot bottom and replaced by the 2 GB card and the top slot was left empty. The laptop has recognized the 2 GB card this time after reboot. So at least I know that the 2 GB card is not defective.

  I tried looking for info on my model number on the net, but only found a source (Hong Kong computer store price list) who has had my model number and he said that the max is 4 GB.

  So I was wondering if my top slot is broken. Is anyway to check? Sorry, but I'm a little computer illiterate when it comes to detailed diagnosis.

  If it helps, my DirectX Diagnostic tool displays the following parameters for the memory and the swap file

  Memory - 2038 MB RAM
  Page 1263 file being used, 3047 MB of available space
  DirectX version - DirectX 10

  My question is about the maximum RAM I can add to my HP530 laptop, I read a lot of forum that the motherboard only supported 2 GB Ram (Ddr2 1 GB per slot), but yesterday I tried with 4 GB of RAM (2x2gb) and the spectacle of the Bios and Windows KGB 3.25 (I know that a 32-bit operating system shows only 3.25 GB of RAM instead of the KGB 4).
  
  But I want to know if the 3.25 GB of RAM are actually used by the laptop computer or used only 2 GB of them (the Max of the Mainoboard "recommended by the manufacturer") and the rest is a waste of money.

  That is right.

  Look in your BIOS under the system information window.

  If the State 4096 MB of memory and that you see as 3.25 GB in Windows, it uses the better set of 4 GB that it can.  Your Mobile Intel 940/945 chipset is able to manage up to 4 GB of memory.

  I have a HP 6910P laptop. Plug state maximum memory is 4 GB. I am fortunately short 8 GB in my PC because the mobile chipset Intel 965 8 GB, and I suppose that HP didn't limit the memory to 4 GB in the BIOS.

  I have a HP dv7-4070us (i5 - 450, 180 SSD Intel 330 1 TB WD Scorpio Blue, Windows 7 Edition home premium 64-bit, 8 GB RAM, ATI HD 5650) currently I begin to learn software Adobe master suite, of things quite dense, however, I realize that up to 8 GB of RAM is kind of pushing my system, (I like to multitask) so I was wondering if it was possible to move to 16 GB of RAM Since I was 8 GB now.   If your laptop is the Intel 5 series chipset, the max memory is 8 GB.

  The service manual indicates your PC a series Intel 5 (HM55) chipset (Chapter 1, page 2)

  If it has the Intel 6 series chipset, the maximum memory is 16 GB.

  Normally, if the PC is shipped with processors intel generation second, it can take 16 GB of memory.  Your i - 5 450 is an Intel 1st generation of processor.

  The information you read on this link you posted affect how the operating system memory can answer, not how much memory material can respond.

• Make a Pentium-powered Inspiron 15 3542 run faster - how?

  Hey, so since my dad need a computer work (Word, Excel; sometimes Visio or some CAD software at low cost) as soon as possible, to buy the best model at a price online was not an option. So we had to buy one on site, and although it offers in shops was rather poor (as expected), we finally chose Dell Inspiron 15 3542 (one with 4 GB of RAM and Pentium 3558U).

  Generally, we are not happy about how poorly Windows 8 made on this machine. The operating system has perhaps as ~ 10 programs installed (excluding things like Visual C++, .NET Framework etc), a program is launched at startup (this is the COMODO antivirus), but the laptop feels really slow. Each individual operation lasts much longer than I should have. In addition to the General slugginess, which includes:

  • using Windows Explorer to browse files
  • the start of the above programs and open documents using these programs
  • surfing the internet at least 3 tabs open - the browser crashes sometimes just (tested on many browsers, including Opera, Chrome, Firefox, Vivaldi)

  It seems to work much better under Linux (xubuntu, to be precise), but most of the programs that need to work, won't work correctly even with wine, and run a virtual machine with Windows XP on a computer small is not an option (Yes, I tried).

  I am aware that the processor is the main reason for my disappointment, but I'm wondering how much of a sudden boost could replace the drive to a SSD 128 GB cause. Has anyone here with a Pentium 3558U processor do that?

  Also is there something I could do to improve performance? I remember the system used to process as ~ 50% of the CPU, but I already troubleshooted and fixed that, and this is no longer the case.

  Yes, if you do not have any data you want to transfer (you can transfer all of the system fyi), you can just put the new and install via USB.

  It's very confusing. It seems that HP has copied some info from Intel about the specifications of the chipset and I couldn't make either heads or tails of it on the Intel site.

  Max RAM per slot is 4 GB.

  The max RAM always depends on installed chipset.
  I put t know what chipset is in charge of your laptop but you could install a tool of diagnosis of equipment as for example Everest home edition and you could check chipset.

  Check the chipset specifications and properties on the Intel page.
  Then, you need to know what amount of RAM max is possible.

  Only the 64 bit OS can handle more than 3 GB of RAM
