• Convert/encode grayscale opacity value?

  Hi all

  I am completely new to Fireworks, after working for years in Photoshop. Sorry if I wonder about simple and standard, but it was not obvious to me in my first test in Fireworks.

  I am trying to create an image file to use in a package of astronomical visualization called Celestia. To map the clouds on a planet, I would like to be able to take an image in grayscale like this:

  and convert the darker portions transparent, with the level of gray at different levels of opacity (white = opaque, black = transparent).

  Celestia can read .jpg and .png image for surface texture maps and cloud files. Is it possible to make a Photoshop .psd file an image like this as an alpha channel and use the alpha channel information to save the .png monolayer with different levels of opacity?

  Well, one way is to open the file in Fireworks, and then in the menu Filter choose the other > convert to Alpha.

  Set your color from canvas to transparent (in the properties panel), and then export the file as a PNG 32. Who should keep the alpha transparency.

  Does anyone know if it is possible that the surface does not run Silverlight?

  I am also surprised that seen in Bing do not work, if you run IE in the office or not, the map shows areas where the view is available but you need to install Silverlight and Silverlight is not available using our platform (Surface, running WindowsRT). The only way to have features is to use Google Maps, MapQuest or similar view via a page IE.

  Finally, we need to hope that Microsoft will provide capabilities that we are used to.

• Mapping Skydrive on Surface RT

  But lately, I've been unable to connect. I get a dialog box pop up asking for credentials, and no matter what I enter it will not reconnect. I just remove and re-mapping, but I get the same answer.

  Any ideas on what has changed? What I'm doing differently now so that it does not connect.

  I can connect to SkyDrive using the application on the start screen, but it is much more useful to have also see the SkyDrive as an external drive in Explorer.

  Hey David,

  You use any authentication 2 with your Microsoft Account?  I had that happen to me and was generating a one-time code for the mapped drive.

  If you want to analyze the color of VI map data in a vector, vector X Y and Z matrix, you can use it with this type of track.  As the color of VI map is written, it displays a 2D path where the third dimension is the color spectrum.

• How to calculate the required pace when I need to scan the surface of 1 meter moving at 0.5 meter/second

  I need to analyze a surface of the mobile object with a camera.

  My question is: the object surface is 1 meter in length and image size of my camera picture is 2048 * 2048, then, what is the frequency of images I need?

  My mapping is 1 mm = 10 pixels

  so 1000 mm = 10000 pixels

  Is is like 10000 pixels / 2048 pixels = approximately 5 frames?

  Is - this law to determine the frames per second?

  You confuse your pace and your total number of frames.

  Rate: the speed is 500 mm/s.  Each frame contains 200 mm.  500 mm/s / 200 mm = 2.5 frames per second.

  Number of images: length is 1000 mm.  Frame is 200 mm.  1000 mm / 200 mm = 5 frames.

  If you need photos at 2.5 frames per second for 2 seconds to get 5 frames.

  Of course, this assumes no overlap.  In practice, it's a good idea to have overlapping slightly if you have no flaws just at the edge of your image.  That's also assuming that you can move your object to exactly 500 mm/s.

• 3D surface plot of updates and customization

  Hi all

  I use a lot of 3D surface to display a set of data over time, frequency and amplitude as x, y and z axes. I have a few general comments and questions about the use of this plot, I hope to get answers to

  1. is it possible to remove part of the plot? The framework to display 3D land surface is in the default "modern" style. In 'user defined' view, the color can be set transparent and it is deleted as expected. Next time I start the program, the borders are back to "modern".

  I'll have this flag on a tabbed style system page, and it seems not very nice to have the modern control it. The same effect is seen with color map legend, but affecting this one transparent will make it gray.

  2 How to move or resize the map colour legend?

  3 is excluded from the function "reporter Panel" updated graphic plots 3D? I don't want the Panel before updating while I bring new data in the 3D graphic, but even if I bring updates of front panel updated the graph, it's still visible new data are drawn.

  4 logarithmic axes overrides the settings of the axis.  If I have a no logarithmic scale, I can set the range of 0.4 Hz to 11 Hz.   5. is there a way to get a graphic palette in projection mode? I want the user to be able to switch to the display of plance XY and zoom. The cursor only I get is the 'hand' that usually leaves me not to do anything. The way I've implemented zoom now is to have a XY chart under the 3-d chart that the user can zoom.

  Thank you very much for your message on our weforum. Please note that this is not a regular indicator. This is called control X. This means that a lot of Labview code is suspended under sub. Please find the files at the following location;

  C:\Program NIUninstaller Instruments\LabVIEW 2009\vi.lib\Math Plots\3D Math Plots\3D Surface\3D Surface XCtrl

  This explains why certain properties of normal control are not available and you are unable to move the different items. You are able to make adjustments on it, so be sure of the frame surrounding the transparent plot for example. What I would recommend is to make a copy of the previously mentioned location;

  -Copy the files in the user.lib directory, maybe also, it is best to create a copy of a zip file.

  -open project files and replace the objects of the project by those of the new location

  -facade.vi should be visible; You can open it and the transparent plotframe.

  -You can also show the graphic palette

• Ground 3D surface colors

  I'm trying to understand the features of the entrance of color vector of the new line of graphics path 3D VI, in combination with the graphics property 3D color surface map. Unable to find any documentation on how these default or overwrite each other or how to use. I thought that the entrance of vector color could be used to define a color directly to form a 1:1 correspondence with the entrance of z-vector, but that doesn't seem to be the case.

  I used successfully the band of colors of a graph of intensity to change the color of the line 3D gradient, as shown in several examples of the graph of CW3D. However, when I increase the range of colors by changing the values min/max on the color ramp, the 3D line should then also show only a subset of the spectrum full color ramp. I guess this should be possible using the vector color and/or color map property somehow?

• P2815Q is not recognize MiniDP or DP, only HDMI, tried everything, Surface Pro 3 he messed up?

  Hi guys, currently my P2815Q monitor will not connect to multiple computers, either through mini DP (on the computer, a 3 Surface Pro plugged into the wall) DP (on the monitor) or DVI + adapter (on the computer, which has a Quadro K600 graphics card) (on the monitor) DP or DP (on the Quadro K600) to mini-DP (on the monitor).  It is not even recognized in the Device Manager on the computer and still shows the floating message "not connected".

  For a while, it worked well in all of these configurations on two of these computers.  A few days ago, when it was connected to my Surface Pro 3, all of a sudden the connection dropped, and then he entered an endless loop to connect to the surface, only to disconnect immediately (after less than a second, as indicated by the "found new hardware" and "disconnected material" sounds).  My SP3 has the latest graphic drivers installed by Windows Update.  There is nothing obviously wrong with the cable.

  Initially, I unplugged the monitor of the SP3, then after reading briefly on "flicker" on an external monitor with SP3 tried leaving connected for up to 30 years, nothing helped.  Also played with the ppp settings that I had put the monitor at 200%, while it worked while the SP3 is 150%.  Tried to restart the SP3 and the connection to the AC adapter / CC, etc.

  Finally, the monitor stopped being recognized by the computer completely and since then I did not get the 'new hardware found' sound once when connecting it via the above ports.  However, he recognized when connected via HDMI to computers.  Once logged in so I could bring up the OSD menu, I did a factory reset, nothing helps.  I also made the image rendering test (where you hold the buttons 1 & 4) and it went perfectly.  Also tried to unplug the monitor and now the power for 5 seconds.

  The first time I plugged on Quadro K600 (DP on the map, on the monitor miniDP) computer it shows briefly a picture, albeit more low resolution 4 k I had used on this computer before, then disappeared and this computer too firmly refuses to recognize...

  What can I do?  It sounds like the logic board is fried?  Thank you, Caleb

  For all Web pages that have google integrated like yelp, foursquare, geocaching.orgmap, map google etc. does not load. Instead of the card, there is a repeated tile showing: "sorry we have no imagery here. Question is not present in Microsoft Edge.

  Maybe you're blocking the Google map with one of your modules?

  Try Firefox Safe mode to see if the problem goes away. Firefox Safe mode is a troubleshooting mode that temporarily disables hardware acceleration, restores some settings and disables add-ons (extensions and themes).

  If Firefox is open, you can restart Firefox Safe mode in the Help menu:

  • Click on the menu button , click Help , and then select restart with disabled modules.

  If Firefox does not work, you can start Firefox in Mode safe as follows:

  • On Windows: Hold down the SHIFT key when you open the desktop Firefox or shortcut in the start menu.

  When the Firefox Safe Mode window appears, select "start mode safe."

  

  If the problem is not present in Firefox Safe Mode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, theme or hardware acceleration. Please follow the steps described in the section Troubleshooting extensions, themes and problems of hardware acceleration to resolve common Firefox problems to find the cause.

  To exit safe mode of Firefox, simply close Firefox and wait a few seconds before you open Firefox for normal use again.

• Error of WCS - Position of the map is in conflict with parents

  Hello all-

  I have a large scale of drawing of a floor of a building plan.  I added to my campus and started adding some APs.  When I saw the prediciton model, I realized that I had forgotten to properly at the scale of the drawing.  When I try to scale, I get an error message stating:

  «Error: the given width, height or the position of the map is in conflict with (building or Campus) parent 846.2 of width and length 655,3.» Please increase the size of the parent (building or Campus) through the edit page and/or ensure that the card is well positioned in parent via the edit card page. »

  I don't really know how to fix this.  I increased the size of the building to match the 846.2/655.3, but then the area showing the building is HUGE on my map of campus (Google Earth photo) and I still get the error.

  Step 1.  Go to monitor > maps > building Click > click the menu drop down and change the building > write the dimensions of the building.

  Step 2.  Go to monitor > maps > floor choose > click the menu drop down and change the floor surface.

  Make sure that the horizontal/vertical span is the same or smaller than what you got in step 1.

  The error comes from the word being larger than the building.  As a best practice, I tend to move all the cards to 0,0.

• Why can't I add a removable device folder Windows in Surface RT libraries?

  I added a 32 GB microSD card to my Surface RT. In this map, I copied my mp3 in the folder music (D:\Music); I want to add this folder to the music library, but when I chose the folder on the removable device I get this error: "this file cannot be included because it is on a removable device.

  If I click on the help link "which locations can be included? I see that removable media (such as CDs or DVDs) are not taken care of but external drives and USB flash drives are supported.

  I also tried with a USB, but I get the same error.

  Why microSD and USB are not supported in the Windows library files?
