Surrogate mother or business identifier when the Dimension was created?

Hi, I use OWB and I'm confused by carrier mother identification or business identifiers? What are they and how can I find out if a certain field is an identifier of buisness or substitute?

Business identifier is an attribute to save the value of row identifier of the source system (i.e. a primary key in the source table column).
Identifier for substitution is a primary key attribute in the table target (or dimension).

Kind regards
Oleg

    Hello

I have a problem when the pack was created in Creative Cloud Packager, there are two selectable 'same' organisation.

It seems that your ID is associated with two accounts.

We have an approval attached and the other has a license of creative teams of cloud (username).

  • Format of the date when the table was created

    Hi all

Is it possible to create the table with the specific date format: as I want to create table with the format date must be in the format "mmddyyy" or no matter what specific.

    I am using oracle 11g

    Thank you

    Hello Abbas85,

not only the dates Oracle occupy only 7 bytes, but using DATES give some benefits, like:

-verification of the data: the system will not accept things like '44-JAN-2014' or 15 months,...

-date arithmetic: it's so easy and convenient to be able to do things like "date2 - date1", or "date 1 + x days!"

-l' effectiveness of the index: when stored as dates, Oracle knows that there's only one second between 27-APR-2014 23:59:59 and 28 April 2014 00:00:00, but if it is stored as strings or numbers, for example there is a bigger difference between 20140331235959 and 20140401000000 and between 20140331010203 and 20140331195959. This may mislead the optimizer...

But in any case if for any reason any bad you persist in the idea of storing dates as numbers or strings, be sure to keep the items in the order YYYY MM DD HH24 MI SS; at least the order is respected. With the help of MMDDYYYY would be really sad!

And on the addition of certain "quality check" If you use for example a 8 string ((aucune heure min sec)): this can be achieved with a constraint, as for example

    SQL > CREATE TABLE aajessica1986 (a_date TANK (8) CHECK (TO_DATE (a_date, 'MMDDYYYY') > DATE ' 1900-01-01'));

    Table created.

    SQL > INSERT INTO aajessica1986 VALUES ('15212014');

    INSERT INTO aajessica1986 VALUES ('15212014')

    *

    ERROR on line 1:

    ORA-01843: not one month valid

    SQL > INSERT INTO aajessica1986 VALUES ('10082014') / * (but maybe the user has waited 10 - AUG and not 08 - OCT) * /;

  • Avoiding rounding to nearest 0.1 GB when the disc was created?

Hi once again, last question for now.  I am running VMware Workstation 6.5.1 Windows XP host.

I can create a "virtual hard drive" for my guest in VMware, but only to the 0.1 GB closest.

Is there a way to specify a size that is most accurate?  When I tried this, my closest entrance Go 0.1 complete user interface, truncating the extra decimals.

It's too bad, because I'm trying to specify an exact size.  Specifically, I'm trying exactly match a USB key, which claims to be 4 GB but isn't really.  It is slightly less than 4 GB.  It's somewhere between 3.7 and 3.8 GB.  This mismatch between the size of the virtual disk in VMware and the size of the USB causing problems when I try to deploy later image of my virtual drive on a real USB.

I'd like to be able to specify an exact number of sectors of the disk.  In the file master *.vmdk appearing, I see that this indictment is embedded in the file.  However, there are also a few extra digits in the file I don't understand not the goal, so I'm hesitant to edit this file directly.

Y at - it a command line tool that can be used to do this?

It's a shame that the UI VMware imposes this unnecessary restriction.

    Thank you!

    Josh

Use vmware-vdiskmanager - you can specify the size in GB, MB, KB or sectors

Click done in the personalization Control Panel and close the window of the Finder. This Get Info button will also be useful for selections of files.

OS X does not connect to an event to empty the trash. You can click on the trash icon in your Dock, and if the Recycle Bin has been emptied recently, you'll be watching an empty Finder window. Now, you can click on this button to obtain information about the toolbar, and the displayed change date will be when the Recycle Bin has been emptied. If you add more items to the trash, this date modifed will be when the last element has been added.

    Hello:

As far as I know, all portable HP are assembled in China.

The serial number will provide the year and week of manufacture...

For the serial number, the classic format is to have the 4th, 5th and 6th characters of reference when the product was built.  The fourth character is the date of the year (Y) and the following two (WW), the week this year, it has been made.

  • FDM 11.1.2.2 fdm adapter not shown when the location is created

    Hello

FDM 11.1.2.2 fdm adapter is not displayed when the application is created in places

I'm so when I tried to import data to test data access error

and in the error log saying his request does not exist

Please help me solve this problem

    Couple of solution to try

    1. recreate the import format and then reload again as sometimes get corrupted as well.

    2. place an excerpt from the sample of data to load into the Inbox and see if it load successfully.

    3. the account that you use to connect to SQL must have read access as when Bulk Insert is used, FDM creates two temporary files, which is the .tmp file referenced in your error message. The .tmp file is an insert in bulk. In order to run an insert action block in SQL, FDM uses the network account that runs the MSSQL Server service. Account goes off in the Inbox of FDM, reads the file and them slap it in the database.

    Thank you

Is there a chance to run ls-lisa from the command line (SSH) in the virtual machine folder and provide the output!

I ask because I'm a little worried about the timestamp of the hard (May 2011). Depending on the size of the files in the snapshot, it seems that the second virtual disk is not really used by the guest operating system and we could come back manually (by editing the .vmx file) on the resized basic disk (100 GB compared to 75 GB for snapshots) without losing important data!

If you want to revert manually,

    • delete the virtual machine of the inventory
    • backup and then edit the .vmx file (replace "WEBPDMAPPD_1 - 000003.vmdk" with "WEBPDMAPPD_1.vmdk")
    • Move 3 snapshots in a directory temporary sub
    • Add the virtual machine to inventory
    • create a new snapshot to prevent the current hard files to be modified
    • Turn on the virtual machine

If everything works as expected, you can delete the snapshot files moved and remove the snapshot created in the Snapshot Manager again.

  • Problem with a VM server: "the virtual disk parent has been changed since the child was created.

    Hello!

I have a problem with a server that does not start.

We had a virtual machine running on VMWare Infrastructure 3 with two hard drives and an instant backup of them.

This machine has been removed from the inventory, but when it has been recreated, the secondary hard drive is mentioned for the basic-disk vmdk
instead of being referenced to the instant vmdk and used for a few days.

All changes made after the snapshot, were kept in the delta snapshot file, which is not loaded.

We are with difficult to reference the secondary disk for the snapshot file. We tried to edit the .vmx and hard disk files
to correct the CID made reference, but when we try to start the virtual machine, we got this error:

"The virtual disk parent has been changed since the child was created.

I think it happens because we made a blow-up of a secondary drive a few weeks after the backup snapshot. We spent 30 GB to 50 GB.
And because it has been referenced and used in another vm.
