Is - this legtimate?

Thank you.

No, it is not legitimate.  This is a very common ploy, commonly known as "phishing" - an attempt to get you to reveal your password or other personal data.

http://en.Wikipedia.org/wiki/phishing

In general, you should NEVER click on the links that appear in the e-mail that you receive.  If the email appears to be legitimate - and that many of the scams are very cleverly done - visit the website of the service involved and connect as usual.

You can "spend" your mouse over a link and find the address.  Often, this will reveal the link or something else than what she appears to be in the text.  In your case, however, the scammer took the trouble to use a service of 'Shortening of URL' has (tinyurl.com) to hide the address.  It turns out that if you have clicked on this link, you would end up on a site located in Hanoi, Viet Nam.

I received an email from a suspicious sender; that is, "gas card" and went to filter / delete messages and when I key in

The problem seems to be that I have press to run filters on my trash instead of my Inbox. It installs everything - including incoming mail - in the trash. When I changed the filter runs on Inbox - it fixed.

Which is called Spoofing and its pretty easy for a spammer to make. Of course, it does

It may not be you who caused him. Account of a friend could have been consulted

  • Even though I have my Windows Mail spam set to the highest level, I continue to receive unwanted emails. For some reason any Windows Mail does not block them. How can I fix it?

I have my blocker spam Windows Mail, the highest value which means I should only receive emails from my contacts.  Despite this, I continue to receive unwanted emails.  This has been so since I've upgraded to Windows 7.  I even went now install a machine program washing 'spam' which was a disaster as well.  I get about 4-5 spam emails a day - usually when I start the morning.

How can I solve this problem?

What Windows Mail in Vista or Windows Live Mail in Win7? If it is a POP3 account, you can filter your messages by using message rules. This is for Outlook Express, but it works the same either of the programs.

Start with the only rule of AddressBook and you receive a message that you want people not in your address book (E-mail from companies, bills, your ISP, etc), you can add them to the rule.

    Box 1 - Where the From line contains people {check it out}

Box 2 - Check: delete it & stop processing more rules if you want messages not in the address book to go to deleted items, or you can create a spam folder and direct them here.

You can choose to delete the server, but be careful because you never have messages downloaded to any folder, if you choose this option.

Box 3 - Click on the blue words contains people

Click on the first address to select it. Scroll to the end and hold down the SHIFT key while you click the last address. This will highlight all. Right-click on it and click on from the menu that appears.

Now, click Options and choose: Message * contains no of * the people below in the top of the page Options area, then choose: Message corresponds to one of the people below in the background Options box.

OK your way out of the new rule.

Now, only the addresses that you entered will be uploaded to your Inbox. You won't see other emails.

Remember, if you add a person to your address book, you must add to the rule. It will not automatically be added.

Be sure to see these links for more options.

  • Junk - mail Spam

    Hi all...

I have an address "@mac.com" (icloud) which seems to be somehow fell into the wrong hands.

I now constantly receive emails every day who are in the same format and appear to be computer-generated. They include a link that I've ever clicked on (while knowing that they are obviously questionable).

They come under a name of people and an e-mail account that changes every day.

I have attached a screenshot at the end of this post as a reference.

I tried to forward the emails to abuse@icloud and tried to do the same thing with their host, but the mail bounces like an invalid address - which is not surprising, as it appears that they use other peoples or service accounts to send e-mails.

I also tried them, ignoring them open, or moving them to the trash, but they continue to arrive with the same intensity.

I somehow feel that the only way I'm going to stop it is to change the account? But I really appreciate the email address as was my point of contact for many years.

Before contacting mac help - I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions of what I could do to stop these emails - even if it's a long-term solution?

    Observed :)

If the name remains the same, or any part of the e-mail address remains the same, you can try to make it a rule in Mail/rules preferences. From your post, I cannot tell if the name changed every day.

If the link is always the same, see that it will work. Copy and paste the link into the Open box.

It seems that my hotmail account has been hacked. Many people in my contact list receive strange emails with links viagra, I did not send. I deleted my entire contact list. How can I make sure that this stops and does not happen?

Answer to * address email is removed from the privacy *.

Make sure that you change the password, secret questions and any other contact information associated with the account.  Make sure that all the alternate contact information are phone numbers, or e-mail addresses that you own.  Use the site web http:///windowslivehelp.com/ for any question on Hotmail.

  • Since the upgrade to Sierra, Mail will not recognize or filter spam

I'm having the problem where almost nothing goes in my junk e-mail folder. I rechecked my mail spam filtering preferences and I have it configured to enable filtering and move the Junk to junk e-mail folder. Those are the only two boxes checked. That the mail comes, I have systematically report as junk, but no matter how many times I do that junk mail is still not reported as spam in the future, nor is it place in my spam box. I really don't know what to do at this point.

  • Chinese Spam mail in Icloud-mail is driving me crazy!

    Hi all

I get mail Chinese spam on my icloud email account on a daily basis, often several times a day. I always get an email with all the Chinese symbols that is followed by another mail that contains both Chinese symbols. The other also has some Latin letters in and says: "RE-IPAD2" to his subject.

Any idea on how to block or to report these e-mails?

It is not the first time that I have problems with the spam mails on my icloud account. The last time he always somehow resolved itself after a few days. But this time it seems not to stop and the emails become more intrusive.

It seems to be a big security problem in icloud. Never had this problem with Googlemail.

    Thanks in advance!

The only thing I know that you can do is mark as junk, it always goes to this mailbox. I found that by selecting unsubscribe at the bottom of the mail header so that mail generally does not stop them from coming. Finally, some of them will stop on their own.
